At this point I wish I had taken screenshots of the conversations I had with him over steam. No different in that environment, just trying to rustle jimmies because he can't get any attention in real life perhaps, or just has a very perverse way of getting entertainment.

You can't even buy a graphics card from 2006 anymore. But, I could show you a ton of graphics cards from last year for under $200 that will max out any multiplat, with mods, and look better than anything a 360 or PS3 will ever render.

With your current setup you probably won't. A new GPU alone would do wonders for you. There's no way you will get very good visuals out of that integrated card.

Yes, that is exactly what I'am saying. At normal playing distance on a console, the visual deficiencies are nullified because unlike PC gamers, console gamers don't have to sit 3 feet away from the screen.Zlychop

It depends what is meant by normal playing distances. THX recommends 6-8ft away from a 50" for HD content. Even at 7-8 foot from a 40" I can see the problems console games have. Of course if you have a 32" set and you are sitting 10-13" away then you probably wouldn't even notice SD vs HD, that for me though would make the gaming experience much worse as you are looking at a small (in relation to distance) picture losing detail.

The sitting distance excuse could be said about anything, 20ft from an SD set playing the Wii could make it appear the same as a 360 game. Still doesn't make the Wii technically even to the 360.

Wrong. You obviouslly haven't watched a DVD movie and a Blu-ray 1080P movie on large HDTV, the difference is night and day. close up to a screen or when sitting in a couch.

The difference between PC vs consoles is even greater because it's not just a matter of resolution but it's also a matter of DX 11 tech like tesselation and lighting, that current consoles can onlly dream of.

That depends on what you're viewing the games with. I'm viewing both PS3 games and PC games on the same 24" 1080p TV sitting on my desk. The console visual defiencies still stand out. Would they bother me in the end? Probably not.

I have my Gaming PC hooked up to my 50" Samsung 1080 Plasma as well as my PS3. The difference in the same game running @720P versus the same game running on @1080P with DX 11 tech is profound. Even when I am sitting on my coutch with my wireless keyboard and mouse.
