well cause i don't know very well were are the letters in the keybord i find it harder, and never tried the mouse for aiming
so far controllers win, but pc gaming is just not my thing

Easier is better. That's real life logic, but in SW every consolite needs to feel manly, so he says that harder is better.
I am not siding with anyone here, but "Easier is better" is not real life logic. Then why is technology advancing?
Controls are down to preference, but if easier is better then doesn't that mean Console > PC gaming? When it comes to analog sticks compared to a mouse analogs are just inferior when it comes to games such as FPS. A mouse is more accurate and speed that you can manipulate it is far greater then anything dual analog can offer you.
Console FPS use auto-aim and aim-assist to make up for these problems. On the PC you have the standard tool being used for FPS which is much more efficient thus raising the bar of skill in the game.
You are not confined to a box that is dual analog and aim assist. You are given complete freedom without restriction. Superior tools offer a ghigher level of gameplay and a sense of skill which is 100% responsible by the player rather then some assist options used on consoles.

Easier as in more efficent. The skill cap ceiling is much higher rather then the jailed confines of auto-aim and aim assist. The difference between good players and great players is much more apparent on the PC side of FPS.

Yes, I know that from experience, but some people here act as if console gaming takes no skill.Agree 100%. I started out playing FPS's with a controller, so maybe it would be different if I had started out playing PC. I've tried playing COD 4 on PC and I just can not get into it like I would on a controller. Moving with the arrows is what I hate most.
it because you are moving with arrows dude. WSAD is the way to go. how can that be easier than the arrows? im looking at my KB right now like WTF!???For games in general, heck yeah
For first person shooters, Rts and mmos, not a chance
It depends on MMOs. Champions Online uses the Xbox 360s gamepad perfectly. When they did a demo of it they asked what the Xbox controls were going to be like and he said it was what they were using the entire time while showing the gameplay vid.I got my first gaming PC a few weeks ago. I spent a lot of money on it but something is stopping me from enjoying PC gaming. It's the damn M&KB. Playing games with it is horrible. I honestly can't understand why most people say it's better. Playing Crysis and Stalker Clear Sky with the mouse was so frustrating. Aiming was a nightmare. Maybe me being left handed makes it harder? IDK. I know I don't like it though. Anyone else prefer the controller?x-2tha-z
If you never started your gaming career with a mouse and keyboard, you probably won't like it. The first games I played were on PC, so I find the mouse and keyboard more comfortable.
if its easier to use KB/M for aiming and FPS's wouldnt that mean it takes MORE skill to use a controller vs KB/M? i mean this is going by hermit logic...slvrraven9

yeah but we know how long ago those games debut

[QUOTE="Androvinus"]Mouse and key board takes the challenge out of aiming. sure its easier but when has an easier game been a better game.Androvinus

just give it some time bro. its all practice.in KB/M, you can control how fast/slow you're going to turn. you can actually turn around in an instant.
in the controller, even if you push your a nalogs to the very corners your character won't turn around that quickly.
there's a difference. with KB/M, you can react faster. it's like using the arrow pointer/cursor in a controller. if you push the analog up as quickly as you can it won't move like you're using a mouse. in controllers there's a limit as to how fast/slow you can go. even with sensitivity down in Kb/M you can still move your gun fast enough.
Maybe give it more time to learn? My cousin was the same way. Then after 2 months he got a hang of it and enjoys it more now.
I was the same way with controllers for FPS games, I liekd them for other genres, but for shooters it just felt so wrong. Then after some practise I enjoyed it more.
I still think Keyboard and Mouse destroys controller for FPS, RTS, RPG and TPS games. While Controllers are better for sports, racing and fighting games.
Nice try at trolling though. If you give up on something after a week then I feel sorry for you. Did you give up on SEX after your first try? Once again, man up and practise, dont throw in the towel right away and say it sucks.
And for your information.. you can play Crysis/Crysis Warhead with a controller if you want!
LOL @ one week and your givign up on keyboard and mouse an dpulling a big hissy fit. GIVE IT MORE TIME!!! You are use to using a controller for years and years, it might take you a month or tow to get use to using a K+M control scheme. But when you do learn it, you will have better aim and what not for shooters.
I sure am glad I didnt give up on controllers as quick as you gave up on keyboard and mouse.
This kind of reminds me of someone complaining about a car not being automatic and having to learn hwo to use the clutch. Yes it is differnt and yes it takes time TO LEARN IT, but once you give it some time and patience learning, you WILL get better at it. You cant really say it sucks after a few tries. You gotta open your mind and give it sometime. Its not something you are going to learn right away on the first day after you have spent your whole life playing videogames on a controller.

Exactly, I agree 100%.
Give it some time and you will get better. I enjoy them both, but each has ther genres that they are better at. I can use k+m and controller both very well and both are comfortable. It hasnt always been that way, but your learn and get better over time.
KBM are very good for FPS and some TPS, but try playing fifa or pro evo or even a boxing game as well as many others and its laughable.jonesy1911
Thats why I own 3 controllers for my pc, aswell as my keyboard and mouse.
FPS, TPS, RTS, RPG and MMOs = Keyboard and Mouse
Sports Fighting and Platforming = Controller
Best of both worlds you can have on PC gaming.
Definatly glad i have a controller for Fifa, NBA, GRID and Street Fighter on my pc.
Scientifically it's been repeatedly proven that the controller is more enjoyable than a keyboard and mouse.
Though the mouse is superior in precision, modern controllers are superior in moving objects through a 3d environment. Moving object in a 3d environment is vital to creating close combat systems where it's more important for the player to have their character in the right position than aiming in the right area. Hence pc games tend to focus on ranged combat with games, and consoles tend to have much more close combat with games like Halo, and Gears of War. If you've ever studied game psychology you know that close combat is pretty much B&B for gaming enjoyment. It always provides engagement, adrenaline, and a reaction out of the player. So you can say what you want about precision, but the evidence for which is more enjoyable definitely leans towards the controller.

What?
Lookup Emsense, and absolute quality. Both these companies have huge bio-sensory reports. I doubt these reports are publically available though.
The mouse would be good but a keyboard???
I mean using the directional buttongs to move to me sounds terrible. Its a digital imput so you can even control whatspeed your going at.
Unless theres some other buttong you must press to go slower or something. Thats why i like the controller, its streamlined, simple and intuitive.
Jump is X, the bottom button like your legs, O is throw like your right arm, square is reload, left arm to swap ammo and triangle switches weapons, like reching over to get it.

I prefer KB/M since its faster, more precise, more accurate, and i feel like I have more freedom.
I can kill people in mere seconds, even people behind me, since I don't have to wait for it to turn around.
I disagree with the 3D space and action games... most of them nowadays control in the way Assassins Creed does on PC ... behind camera locked with holding right clicky, which then acts aas your movement so the movement is incredible smooth in a3D space ...Scientifically it's been repeatedly proven that the controller is more enjoyable than a keyboard and mouse.

Well after moving from console gaming to pc gaming I instantly felt an increase in my ability to aim, navigate and perform actions. In pc gaming you can aim while reloading, meleeing, jumping and switching weapons. There are more buttons that are easily accessible around WASD and the mouse itself is superior (if you have a good one) in every respect. Movement is not a problem. There are buttons to walk, sprint or move at normal speeds. Event though in all the shooters I've ever played it was not necessary to walk, just run to the point I need to get to.
Whenever I play a console FPS I feel that I'm handicapped in the sense that my ability to aim and perform actions are severley hampered by the controller.
as a PC gamer i actually enjoy the Wii controls for FPS (if done right). while it's not as accurate as a mouse it does feel more intuitive and realistic since the mouse is on a flat surface rather than actually pointing at the target. both are much better than a dual analog which is more like piloting a mech than behaving like a person. What about theWii Controller for FPSers? I prefer it over standard controllers. Is it better than a M&KB?

No, just no, and you are incorrect about Halo and Gears of War.
'If you have ever studied game physchology' well considering I'm studying as a designer, I know that a control function is more 'enjoyable', when a games design caters specifically for it, or has been designed around it.
That chunk of text is an assumption, not 'scientific'.
Hats off the most ridiculous things I have read in ages, source or no source.
