Could Gamespot possibly give out 2 10s in 2 months?

I think it is possible , and I would love to see ...... I would love to see the meltdowns too. People just need to undersatnd that a 10.0 is not a perfect game and those games will have their faults , but at the same time they will be the cream of the crop in this industry and would deserve special recognition.

People to this day STILL whine about Tony Hawk 3, or Ocarina getting perfect 10s. "Wah...those games aren't perfect! Wah! They had flaws!" Well answer this....what skateboarding game to this day is better than TH3? None. What Zelda game, to this day, is better than OCarine was? None.

If those games are the pinnacle of the series, or even the genre, then they deserve the highest score.

I agree, the game does look amazing, not the best, but amazing. But I doubt that there is enough time and space to make the textures better.

and its not like MGS4 has only graphics going for it, its got other great factors like: sound, story, chracters, non linear(multiple routes) gameplay definetly looks the best in the series, humour

Wouldn't know because I unfortunately never got to play any of the games. The only thing that I'm really arguing is that I think Gears looks more detailed and has better textures.

Gears is very linear, and nowhere as big as what MGS4 will be. Gears is a finished game and MGS4 isnt. Guess we will have to "just wait"

MGS4 is getting about a TON of more hype than MGS3, its getting about what MGS2 had and that sold 7mill. Actually MGS4 is probably getting even more hype, due to the fact this is the first killer app for the PS3. im not saying it will sell 7mill plus, but I think due to the fact that its bundled aswell, MGS4 will sell about 5 mill maybe more.

Well, considering Skate flopped compared to TH3 in terms of scores and sales, AND considering Windwaker almost single handedly killed the Zelda franchise for many people (myself included...and I liked WW), I would say your opinion here is irrelevant.

*edit* Plus a quick jump over to Gamerankings shows that the vast majority of reviewers disagree with you as TH3 and Ocarina scored higher on average than Skate and WW. Since we live in a democratic society, the majority rules.

Although, it also shows the completely subjective nature of review scores and yet another reason why people need to stop whining. Just because your opinion is different doesn't make yours more right and their more wrong. READ THE REVIEWS! Stop obessing constantly over a number as if it reflects the game better than the written opinion.

I have a feeling GTA 4 has a chance to go down as one of the best games of all time, while I am just as excited about MGS 4, I'd be surprised if it cracked the top 50.

In order for MGS 4 to get a perfect score, the patroling AI has to be dead on perfect, and let's face it the guards have been pretty clueless in some of the past titles.

I'd predict both get 9.5 here. A higher score for GTA at IGN (9.7), 1up(A+) and Game Informer( 9.75)

One last thing before I agree to disagree.

And the best Grand Theft Auto is the 16th best critically acclaimed game on GR.

Just because a previous iteration of a game got a certain score doesn't mean the next would get a higher score if it even is better. The game needs to be better then other games out at the time in all departments, which is easily not possible. No game is perfect, and i cannot see GTA4 or MGS4 getting a 10, 9.5 is more likely. Also by the reviewers view on the game, everyone has there own opinion. Just because a game doesn't get a 10 doesn't mean its automatically crap or it was shafted.

I think hyping any game AAAA is nuts...but hyping GTA IV AAAA is much more reasonable imo than hyping MGS 4 AAAA. MGS 1 scored 8.5 and MGS2 scored 8.7 on GameSpot. Why would anyone hype MGS4 AAAA when the franchise has scored AA on GameSpot before? GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas all scored 9.6. So, yeah...hyping GTA IV AAAA makes more sense, even though it is still crazy to do so.

-MGS doesn't have universal appeal. It is an acquired taste

-MGS has an uneven cutscene/gameplay ratio

-MGS has counter-intuitive controls

-MGS can feel a bit sluggish at times

-GTA is more gameplay-focused

-GTA's pace is far more immediate

-GTA has a far bigger sense of scale

-GTA allows the player more freedom

-In MGS, the player is in the passenger seat, while in GTA, the player is in the driver seat

-The 3D GTA's have gotten a better critical response overall

-GTA's seems to evolve, while the MGS games actually seem get worse in some respects (although I thought 3 was the best). MGS2 was the worst in the series. Every inherent flaw of the series was amplified in that game.

Like it or not, the odds are more in GTA's favor.

1. because you called *yourself* a fanboy, and 2, i didnt know that when you got your beloved 360, you were banned for eternity forever from getting a ps3. If its so much better, why do you have to bash this game to such an extent?

Your hilarious. I never called myself a fanboy. I dont have Wii because I cant find them in the store. Getting PS3 now does not make sense because I could use that money to get NG2, GTA4, Gears 2, Fable 2 and MGS 4 is the only game that would drive that purchase at all and it just is not enough. I could see myself eventually owning all three just like I did last gen.

EDIT: sorry if i thought gradeschool mean all grades, i thought it ment elementary, middle, and high school lol. if it didnt, then i actually give you that one.

I think you guys are taking a risk on that one so good luck to sticking around. If it does happen to get a 10 ...... hopefully you guys will be stand up people and do the right thing , admit ownage , and leave like men. If you're not adults , tears will be acceptable.
