@gago-gago: The Switch really isn't going to be a good system that stands by itself. The Switch is best as a console that offers games you can't play on non-Nintendo systems. Basically, the Nintendo Switch is a platform for those who like Nintendo games. There also appears to be a promising trend toward 3rd party support from Japanese developers. However, the Nintendo Switch by itself is not a system that will satisfy every gaming enthusiast.
Typically having the Nintendo Switch + some other system is a good way in getting a wide spread of choices when it comes to purchasing video games. Does that mean the Nintendo Switch is best enjoyed as a secondary platform? That depends who you ask. For me, though more contemporary Nintendo consoles (outside of their dedicated portable devices) rarely have an output of games big enough to satisfy, the games that do release are typically my favorite. Take, for example, Breath of the Wild; this to me has been an essential game this year.
How I view the Nintendo Switch right now is that for those looking for the benefit of playing games on the go and also looking for a system that will offer you unique experiences and a wider list of options, it's a great purchase as not many of its games are likely to appear on other platforms. I think it's a good system to own along with another system. What that system is depends on your own preferences.
For me, the PC is a great companion to the Nintendo Switch for a wide array of options varying in many different genres. The PS4 also harbors many of its own exclusives, though personally I'm not always enamored by Sony's first party lineup (with exceptions). Sony are still able to secure some excellent 3rd party exclusives such as this year's Yakuza 0 and Nioh.
If you're hassled by PC gaming, then I think the Xbox One is a good option for those who like racing games and online multiplayer; perhaps those who are not too enthused by Japanese titles too but don't mind a few here or there.
As a whole, the Nintendo Switch by itself may not satisfy everyone on its own. I am going to guess that since its launch, it is the platform I have devoted the most time to playing on. Nintendo's idea of launching one exclusive per month has meant that there is a steady and digestible stream of titles coming in that I am curious to try (This month it is Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle). Comparing it directly to Xbox One, the Xbox has a larger library of games by virtue of 3rd party support, but I'd be surprised if nobody on this website didn't already own a system that could play these 3rd party games already which redirects some gamers' attention to the exclusives.
