Anyone that liked Crysis for more than its graphics and that it contained action will be disappointed with Crysis 2.
Compared to Crysis, Crysis 2 offers:
- Less freedom in the world - You're being herded from A to B with very little options.
- Less interactivity - Destructible objects and buildings are all but gone.
- Less control - Prone and lean are gone and replaced with a bunch of half-automatic cover and leaning functions.
- Less thought - You're constantly being guided and "helped" by the all mighty suit, "Look, there's the ammo! There are the enemies! Walk this way!".
All this put together makes it obvious that the game has lost its roots and have been completely dumbed and watered down to fit the consoles and their typical audience.
All in all this is a product that Crytek should feel shame for calling it Crysis 2.
The typical console gamer will be thrilled with the new Crysis - Can't get enough of generic shooters!
The typical PC gamer that liked Crysis for its unique stregths will be very disappointed indeed - A franchise of great freedom, scale and interaction, is no more.
