Not enough images in this thread. Here's Crysis 2 MP demo:

DreamCryotank

*Snip* images *snip*

Right.

Here's how I did it:

First the settings:

1: Create a shortcut for the Crysis 2 Demo exe file.

Right click>properties and then add them at the end of the target box line with an empty space before each command

+g_skipintro 1 (skips all the intros before the game boots up)
+r_glow 0 (removes the glow effect)
+i_mouse_smooth=0 (disables mouse smoothing)
+r_MotionBlur=0 (disables motion blur)
+r_postmsaa=0 (disables native AA and allows you to force through control panel)

+cl_fov 60
+r_DrawNearFoV = 60
+pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 60
(These three changes the Field of View and all three of them have to be changed to avoid getting "seasick")

If you want to get rid of the overall blur (which is caused by the game's built in AA method) lower the graphics from Hardcore to Advanced and add your own AA trough the drivers (not sure if all modes work but they say the AMD exclusive XEQAA method at least does.)

Also if you want to change the aim/iron sights to toggle you can do that once you're in game by going to the settings and then "game".

2: Set the game to hardcore and the resolution to 1920*1080.

3: Download the free version of fraps ---> use it to take screenshots --> upload them to photobucket.

Do this, post some screenshots and then eyeroll me again.

Photobucket

Photobucket

spot the difference

Diablo has been on consoles before

milannoir

Has anyone here played the PS1 version of Diablo? I did.

The only thing cool about it was co-op, 2 players killing their way trough the levels. The controls themselfs just felt so clunky and awkward, and the visuals looked blurry as hell. I wouldn't exactly call it a success.

This reminds me that Civ II also had a (late) PS1 version. A friend of mine, who had tried and loved it on my PC, bought it for his console. Man, that was painful. The game ran at a crawl, and the controls were so clunky it made things even slower. It took 10 times longer to finish a turn than it did on PC, and took all the fun away.

Oh, and the same friend also bought "Panzer General" for his PS1... Some people never learn, it seems.. Again he got punished, with a barely playable game.

In the end, though, he got himself a gaming rig...

You know what? I also played Civilization 1 on PSX. Before that, I played it on Amiga, and I haven't got PC at the time, and it was somewhat enjoyable (7/10 enjoyable), but when you reach certain age in the game, it takes painfully long to process anything and the game becomes rather unplayable.

Don't be too sure of this. Since the game isn't exciting at all from all the information available, if at launch it is confirmed that the game is a downgrade from Crysis 1, many will at least wait for a massive Steam sale.

Personnally, I don't feel like paying more than 20 euros for this...

I don't think so.

And even if it were true, would that make it OK to simplify and generalize games just so that they can get a broader audience?

Fortunately not all developers sell out like Crytek.

anyone is a gross generalization, i played the original, and i played the multiplayer beta that was released on pc and it was stil pretty darn fun, the thing i think that a lot of people are doing is putting crysis 2 in to a negative light before it even releases, and because of that no matter how fun or good crysis 2 will end up being it wont be good enough for pc gamers, or atleast the extremely vocal minority, if you dont like the game then dont play it, but dont try and make it out that if you liked the first crysis that youll be dissapointed with the second, im a pc gamer and i have confidence that ill love the second

The gunplays better, the suit is far more flexible, there's still interaction (you can pick up pretty much anything and throw it, just like Crysis 1), the atmosphere is MUCH better, the sound design is better, the aliens are better, the animations are better, the story is better, the presentation is better, the ai is better, the level design is still open, maybe not to the extent of Crysis 1 but it's nowhere near a COD clone, but yeah, I can't blow a hut apart so it's instantly terrible.

DreamCryotank
On PC the controls are mushy, and having to hold down rightcick to use the scope is dumb.

I find it ironic that freedom in games was revolutionized by the GTA games (which are console games) and they don't seem to realize that Call of Duty and Half-Life 2 (both incredibly linear titles spawned as PC games) are two of the most linear games of all time. Doesn't make them bad games, but still, PC gaming isn't exactly known for freedom in its games.

Wrong, GTA was a PC game first.

True but the concerns are still there:

 • "Press start to begin" - --Just the demo but not a good way to start things off for a Pc gamer.
 • Lack of graphical Settings ---Just the demo but again, not a good thing as stereotypically, that throws a alarm to Pc gamers playing multiplats. Not like demo's on Pc are void of this and considering crysis pre-cursor, should have been a bit detailed like the new Shogun 2 Demo.
 • Moving Menu screen - --Just a bad decision but possibly can be fixed on retail
 • Muddy Textures--- Demo but if they throwing this out for a demo on pc, its not a good sign
 • Lack of destructible Invironment - --Glass breaking is in there but not seeing much of anything else in the demo
 • Lack of movable Objects --- So many things in the demo are static drawings such as lamps on ground etc. Nothing moves. All background.
 • The Codish effect - --Regardless of good or bad, the type of multiplayer pays duy's to it. Some people like it, some people don't.
 • Lack of lean - --A status quo in multiplats these days but can raise alarms.
 • 6v6 multiplatform - --Just the demo but Pc definitely can handle more. Hopefully that will rise to a nominal number.
 • FOV & Draw Distance Concerns - --Vanilla Demo has a alot of this that really draws in concerns. Doesn't add to it that when you tweak them up, you can see how muddy things are in the demo
 • Head Bob -- No idea what the reasoning for this but luckly can be turned off
 • Possible Patch in dx11. --Starting to be established base on demo that the game is base on dx9 and will get a candy coat of dx11. This most likely will follow that path of Metro 2033 but people really were hoping for Bad Company 2 or Just Cause 2 design with a reworked engine in mind for PC.
 • Mouse movement - Demo is a bit off though can be tweaked in targetline to fix it but again does not help the concerns people are having.
 • Crosshair and gun size -- They are fairly big on Demo taking up alot of area on the screen. Hopefull this will be reduced some.

Just some of the concerns being raised that I noticed or what so many of these threads keep stating. The more keep adding up, the more folks tend to be so negative on the game. In the end, Crytek might have done better not even releasing a PC demo or atleast releasing a reworked version.. We will see. Hopefully the Single player will be long and challenging with great AI, compeling sotry line, and a pontential replayability.

I really hope Crytek proves us wrong, but all signs are pointing at a crappy dumbed down game. I knew it wasn't going to be quite as opened as the first, but my god I wasn't expecting them to butcher the game. I can have a great time with this game, but it gets old rather fast. The cover mechanics are TERRIBLE, the destruction is very limited, confined spaces, blurry as all hell (tweaking does help this), and the gun models look so stupid to me.

I'm sorry that you don't understand a few simple statements, in fact was not making any suggestions, but if your reading comprehension is that poor consider that you might have interpreted the entirety of my post incorrectly.

How they have simplified the game is right there in the first post, but the short version is that they've removed the large open world, nearly all physics interaction and a bunch of important controls resulting in a game that really have nothing in common with it's predecessor but it's name and the suit.

The argument is behind the most trivial things getting blown out of proportion in a MULTIPLAYER demo. Again, you mind tell me who was hyping Crysis 2 for its multiplayer? What's that? *crickets* I thought as much. OH NOES--THE MENU MOVES! WHAT IS THIS. WHY DOES THIS MENU MOVE? CRYSIS 2 SUCKS! The fact that such a thing even gets listed is downright laughable. Press start to continue? Another pointless complaint blown out of proportion. Let's hit some basic notions here: 1) Folks are complaining about a multiplayer demo; 2) Crysis 2's multiplayer was never hyped; 3) Crysis franchise is renowned for its high quality singleplayer; 4) Crysis' multiplayer, and Crysis Wars both looked inferior to the singleplayer portions by a considerable degree; 5) Crysis' multiplayer, and Crysis Wars both had very limited destruction, and plenty of static objects; 6) Crysis 2's multiplayer is being developed by a DIFFERENT developer; 6) Here's a tissue box to all the gamers crying right now.

I played the beta. millerlight89

Crysis has fans?

Well then to win you guys back over, it still has the graphics, thats all you guys care about anyways.

Stevo_the_gamer

Seriously, but actually, it doesn't even look good according to some PC gamers here... which is astounding to hear.

Is it why overnight it became one of the most hated games around? ;)

Doesn't change my statements nor does it demonstrate anything. What are you talking about? Maybe you shouldn;t have used me to argue against. Your kinda generalizing and lumping my statement into a argument you want.

Stevo_the_gamer

Again, your using me to argue something I was not even presenting. Did you really read my post steve? I stated some of the concerns and even spoke about single player being the defined notion. I never said menus move = crysis sucks. I stated concerns people are having and how they add up. I wonder whose really needs a tissue box LOL. What you find as "trivial" others don't. Difference of opinion. I'm laughing right now bro that you would get so mad over this considering who I actually wrote my statement to...LOL

I got a gift for you bro:

jedikevin2

I was using the moving menu = Crysis sucks mantra as a tongue in cheek way of addressing how ****ing rediculous it is to even list such a minor, and trivial thing on a list. If you weren't presenting that list as your own, then I apologize but then my post towards you can now be taken generally. My points are not unfounded, just misdirected I suppose. Only way you would see me listening that ... trivial business is if I would hit each point destroying it into a million fragments.

Difference of opinion? Smoe people are welcomed to disagree... but I would *love* to see how someone could argue those things as *not* being trivial.

millerlight89

Yes, because the pirated shoddy-broken incomplete beta is 100% comparable and definitive to representing the final game... Oh... wait a minute here.

Guess Stevo prefers blurry games and being limited to three total graphics options. Who knew?

I enjoyed the demo, even if it was consolised, but this means I'll be getting it on 360, seeing that the version aren't too different.

You should know better. I'm on no one's boat. But then again, I've boycotted games because of things people have called "trivial" or "petty". Yet my reasons seemed perfectly compelling to myself.

I played the beta. Stevo_the_gamer

Oh, the pirated shoddy-broken incomplete beta? Nice.

You mean the internal, leaked beta that had 99% of the game's content? Yeah that one. Based off that, everything JediKevin said is true. All of it. I haven't even touched the MP demo except when it was on the 360. The game does not live up to the standards the previous games set. Its not even close. The only thing it does better is its story presenation.

CS isn't a "benchmark" where as most PC gamers here think of Crysis as only that: a benchmark.

Stevo_the_gamer

I'd like to see some PC gamers who consider Crysis a benchmark and nothing more. Its one of the best games of all time. It just had lazy story development and presentation. If it wasn't for that, it would've gotten a 10 from GS.

1. Singleplayer and multiplayer use the same graphics engine.

2. It has been confirmed that we have only three graphics options in the final game.

3. These use the horrid blurry AA.

4. We're stuck with it, until someone decodes the encrpyted configs.

My 1080p monitor looking like its playing a 720p upscaled game is not a trivial issue.

They're all over SW. Crysis 2's graphics are the main and central focus for ALL the hate. Look at PSN's post above mine ... oh, teh graphix?

Now I see why you so up in arms Steve Lol
jokes
As I said originally, hope the single player will draw folks. My hopes are for a 20+ hr single player, 2 hr of CGI video, a great AI, and some deep replayability ..... I can only hope.

Yea because they are going to totally have more open levels, better gameplay, and they are even going to add more destruction to the fianl game. O h yea, they will also have lean and won't have that POS cover mechanic. O wait..... There is a lot mroe wrong with this game than the **** blurry graphics. I'm not going to lower my standards just to make this game enjoyable like I see so many here doing.

None of those things is going to change in the final version. Just iron out the bugs..and maybe update the graphics.

The console cover system isn't going to be gone.
