lol. No, the pirated broken-unfinished beta is not a final product, nor is the demo a reflection of the singleplayer.

i5750at4Ghz

Again the leaked beta is a nearly compete game which means its very good indicator of the game will be.. Because it is the game

2 Months of work will not make it it into a different game or that much better....

There is no telling what time period the leak is from. But it's clearly not a beta version.

I hope these people bashing the game off of this 'leaked beta' are proven wrong when the game is released.

[QUOTE="coreybg"]Unless, all that "knowlege" is coming from youtube vids

Stevo_the_gamer

Crytek themselves along with countless others, actually. It is general information--common sense at this point--that the beta that was leaked and pirated was broken, buggy, and unfinished.

Yeah....no. Crytek also said that with Cryengine 3 they can develop all 3 version simultaniously.

Now, I don't intend on saying why the game is consolised mind you, I still have it preordered, but you're basing your argument on what the developers have said (and devs say a lot of things) against people who have played the beta. And seeing as how you hightlight "PIRATED" in every of your posts regarding the beta, I'd say you're not one of them.

Also, a beta is normally the almost finished game with minor adjustments and debugging left and I'm pretty sure they haven't changed the entire game for 4 months.

I'm pretty sure that we all want that. The difference being that you want us to be wrong so you can gloat and "the bashers" want to be wrong because we actually want a better game worthy of the Crysis name.

Crysis 2 story even if it is complex that doesn't mean its better. Crysis 1 had a simple story that many call weak but it was way much better than some " ******** filled **** of a game sci-fi". **** Morgan, let him write his sci-fi garbage and leave crysis alone. By the way only thing that could change from leaked beta are fixed bugs and improved graphics I personally don't give a **** about it.

Crysis is dead, nothing can help it now. Instead there will be CRYSIS 2 the best looking console FPS on PCs. :( The best and the worst of all three.

Yeah, we just have to hope that some new dev will pick up the torch and create PC FPS's with big, open and interactive words, Crytek obviously doesn't care any longer :(

Anyone notice they patched the demo, and it now says "press enter to begin" that made me smile haha. Anyways I went on a server on my own and just ran around without people shooting at my face just to check out the visuals. To be fair I think it looks good, considering its DX9 only, multiplayer, and probably not at all representative of final game, I'm still hopeful.

Yeah, that's totally the biggest gripe we have about the game. It's all good now.

Because graphics are what makes a game good, am I right?
The graphics are ok, the problem is that how the game is and can be played have nearly nothing in common with Crysis.

Well, I'm just gonna say this from my perspective and what not... I'm a huge fan of the original Crysis games, played them through many times. I even loved Crysis Wars, shocking I know... When I jumped into the MP, I judged it straight away, I didn't really give it a chance. "What is this COD like fast paced nonsense? It feels totally consolised!" I thought to myself :P But after playing it a bit more, getting to grips with it, I'm starting to like it.

Sure I'm still a bit mad they took out the huge mp maps and vehicular combat. Actually I'm pretty miffed... but games evolve. I guess it's just unfortunate it had to evolve into a cod clone, but i feel it goes alot deeper than cod in the 10 levels I've played. I started off playing it like I was playing COD, but NOW I'm playing it like I'm playing Crysis, using the cloak effectively to stalk people and take them out, its pretty fun.

I'm putting aside my judgements for now, I'm just gonna enjoy it, and I'll make my assumptions when I'm playing the Singleplayer campaign in DX11, because that's what we're all only interested in really...

I get it, you don't really care about the gameplay nearly as much as the graphics, no wonder you have no problem with what Crysis turned out to be :|

Crysis 2 is beyond help, and I'm just doing the right thing by warning people that liked Crysis for its unique features that they shouldn't expect anything near the old game in terms of interactivity, world size or control.

Don't blame this on console users, we're not the ones who asked Crytek to "dumb it down". Most of the things you listed still would have been possible on a console, that was Crytek's choice to make those changes. Anyway, it still looks a hell of a lot better than most FPS releasing soon.

Just because they changed it to "enter" doesn't mean its fixed. This whole press start to begin fiasco let people know they made one game only across all platforms, so much so that even the menus are identical. When they said they'd deliver a separate true pc version. "Change your tv settings" is another one. Its a console game that runs on PC's. The text doesn't mean anything its what we learned by reading that text about their dev process.

If you think handholding and zero replay value (due to linearity) is quality than be my guest. I went from day one buy to buying after I upgrade for BF3s release in the Fall.

The game doesn't hold your hand. The Nanosuit (ya know, this uber advanced military peice of equipment) provides you with info on how to tackle a situation. And the game is as linear as Crysis 1. Seriously, stop overrating Crysis 1s openworldness. WOW, you can swim out into the ocean for 5 minutes just to stand on an island with 3 of the same ****ing palm trees copy and pasted EVERYWHERE. Wow, you can take a side path that leads to the exact same place you were headed in the first place. In Crysis 2 you can traverse through sewers, through walkways, over buildings, around buildings, ect. Stop whining, jesus christ.

Yeah the suit tells you what to do which is just that, holding your hand.
There's no need to think for yourself or to figure out how to move on and how to tacle the situation at hand.
Mindless gaming here we come!

Although you really underplay the open world of Crysis, what you describe is a whole lot better than being forced through the same way every time you play.

Yeah, with your standards I understand that you think it's super free to somtimes be able to use a few pre-defined different routes. But in reality, those choices are on pretty much the same level as choosing to enter a house through the door or the window, and the rest of us take such things for granted because it's been standard stuff in FPS for over 10 years.
Choosing between two or three pre-defined routes is NOTHING SPECIAL.

I'm really starting to doubt that you've played Crysis at all, in fact your comments make you seem pretty new to this whole gaming business.

Unless the gameplay and graphics get a major upgrade on pc then I don't see how crysis 2 is not going backwards in a major way vs ceysis 1.

Yeah! Seriously, DreamCryoTank has a STALKER sig, I'm pretty sure he knows and hates a "watered down game", Crysis 2 switched out its features a bit, destructible huts switched out for parkour-esque climbing and vertical levels, Tropical levels that consisted of a linear path + wasted space on the side (really, all the fighting in Crysis 1 was in villages, towns, or on linear paths and roads, the rest was empty jungle), these levels were switched out for cover-rich urban maps with just as much flanking room plus the ability to get vertical and climb above the battlefield. Plus, I though the suit was "dumbed down" at first, but all they did was make the controls tighter so you can more skillfully mix superpowers, jump over surfaces while cloaked, super punch guys while armor moded (like a human tank :) ), and pick up and neck-snap guys while cloaked. So more functionality, therefore not watered down. I played the beta and you get much more of a feeling that you are "hunting" your enemies in this sequel. And you know its not a consolized game when thoughtlessly running and gunning just gets you embarassingly owned by superior AI. Play the game before you jump on the "consolization claimer" bandwagon. I'm a PC Elitist I point out consolized franchises with extreme prejudice, but there isn't any here.

I don't like the console feel to the controls/gameplay and I don't like the smaller scale. But the story and the music are much improved in the sequel.

That's not part of the actual OST. It's fan made.

I noticed your name, and then realized I didn't need to read your post.

I played it, though not all of it because I don't want to spoil myself.

Yep, you trust videos over first hand experience.

I don't know. The beta was hardly telling. One map, a handful of guns and things? It was barely a grape worth of an appetizer.

It's really the singleplayer portion of the game that we're discussing here.
