Its not hard to beat, scripted water which is no more then a simply texture , you cant swim in it
I don't remember being able to swim in Uncharted 2, but you can in Drakes Fortune. I hope they bring it back in Drake's Deception.

And that segment looks awesome Bus-A-Bus!
You could swim in a few places, "Fish out the water!" :P[QUOTE="tonitorsi"]

But you can swim in other parts of the game of which the water looks just as good.
It is still one hell of an accomplishment on consoles though.
Who gives a **** what it looks like. This game is so damn good, minus the glitches here and there in the graphics. Much better than the first. It feels like an actual game instead of a playable tech demo.

No it isnt, its just a moving texture, even though yoyu can swim in it, good water is the one with physics, not eye candy,. or scripted scenes.
He wasn't saying the 360 is the preferred platform to play it on. He was referring to the idea the Crytek choose 360 as the preferred platform. If you would have read the whole article you would have understood that."In short, then, Xbox 360 benefits from a 25 per cent resolution boost over the PlayStation 3 version of the game. That's a pretty stark statistic, and while it is true that the action generally looks clearer and not quite so blurred on the Xbox 360, it's also the case that when the game is in full flow, the amount of post-processing effects in play, including camera and object-based motion blur, tends to equalise the visuals somewhat. Quite why there is a resolution difference at all is intriguing."
"there is an overall feeling that the image on Xbox 360 is cleaner and crisper."
"By and large, the look of the game is entirely consistent between both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. However, there do appear to be some isolated instances where lighting appears bugged or flawed in the PS3 version, as the brace of shots above demonstrates."
The increased performance and resolution indicates that the Xbox 360 is the preferred platform for Crysis 2,

Give it up 1Stark1 you have 0 creditability and have self owned yourself here, your on some lonely desparate mission and need to just stop![QUOTE="1Stark1"]
OK, so I just got my copies from Gamefly like an hour ago. I have both the Ps3 and 360 versions. I don't get what the fuss is about:? There are honestly much better looking games than this on consoles. This does not hold a candle to KZ3, UC2, GOW3, Alan Wake, hell, Heavy Rain looks better. Most overated title ever when it comes to visuals. With that said, I will be buying the 360 version because I like the higher resolution. Anyone with both consoles will know I am telling the truth when I say those games look better. Its just so inconsistant and it doesn't make your jaw drop. Don't rate KZ3 by screens, you really have to play it to compare. One thing I really like about this game is the open ended nature of the environment, besides that, I see games that look far better on consoles.
AnxietyAttack
LOL wut, don't talk as if you know me. I've played both games unlike you. You're not entitled to say who has credibility or not. Desperate mission? For what?
Important key details in the article. I don't think I missed anything.
"Crysis 2 on console is an exceptional release, only held back from true greatness by being a touch rough around the edges: glitches, LOD pop-ins, some really impactful frame-rate dips... compromise is an inevitability when working with consoles."
"Crysis 2 runs at 1152x720 resolution on the Microsoft platform, PS3 operates at a base resolution of 1024x720."
"While it is true that the action generally looks clearer and not quite so blurred on the Xbox 360, it's also the case that when the game is in full flow, the amount of post-processing effects in play, including camera and object-based motion blur, tends to equalise the visuals somewhat."
"More resolution is obviously a good thing and there is an overall feeling that the image on Xbox 360 is cleaner and crisper, but only with a direct A to B comparison do you actually feel you're missing anything on the PS3 rendition of the game, which still looks very impressive."
"texture filtering on the tarmac looks better on the PS3 - base resolution isn't always the paramount element in image quality"
"Crytek has done an impressive job in matching the engine spec across both platforms"
"By and large, the look of the game is entirely consistent between both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. However, there do appear to be some isolated instances where lighting appears bugged or flawed in the PS3 version, as the brace of shots above demonstrates."
"Crysis 2 operates with v-sync on both platforms and also seems to run with an uncapped frame-rate ... Interestingly ... we do see the odd tear at the very top of the screen on the Xbox 360 version, but this is basically invisible during gameplay."
"Performance is variable but in the majority of the scenes we do see an advantage to the Microsoft console."
"The increased performance and resolution indicates that the Xbox 360 is the preferred platform for Crysis 2, but in the heat of actual gameplay, this difference appears to evaporate. Put simply, on certain stages, frame-rate varies rather drastically to the point where the game can feel almost unplayable. .... The unavoidable conclusion we came to is that when frame-rate does crash in those affected areas, it's actually Crysis 2 on PS3 that holds up better."
"In short, Crysis 2 in 3D is no Motorstorm: Apocalypse or Killzone 3, but it is an interesting alternative technique that may exhibit better results in a game where aspects of the image are split into distinct layers, such as LittleBigPlanet."
"Bearing in mind the limited nature of the 3D support, it doesn't really factor into the purchasing decision – but the PS3 undoubtedly gives the better picture here."
"It's difficult to give any really strong recommendation about which version of Crysis 2 to buy if you're in the enviable position of being able to choose between both HD console platforms. The good news is that taken as a whole, they are both really impressive games, for the most part."
"There's little doubt that the Xbox 360 is the cleaner, crisper experience and for the most part it commands a small but significant frame-rate advantage and fewer little glitches; especially outside of combat scenarios, the game just seems to run that much more smoothly."
"However, there are parts of the game that seem to be brutally unoptimised, bringing the performance level crashing down to the point where the afflicted sections become almost unplayable ... In these situations, it seems that it is the Xbox 360 version that has the most difficulties, though there's no mistaking that both platforms seem to lag badly in much the same areas."
"On balance, 360 has the edge in terms of visuals and general performance, but PS3 more than holds its own, bettering the Microsoft platform in some areas."
"The crucial thing is that both are phenomenally attractive games, producing effects quite different and in many ways more advanced than anything we've seen elsewhere on console. We all wanted Crysis on console to be an event, a showcase release: by and large, Crytek has delivered, and those cutting edge visuals are backed by a truly impressive game design."

Thats what I have been talking about.ONLY thing thats missing(not much though, just for tha statz) is native 720p.Everything is there. Its hard to bash Crytek because game is big, lots of times very open and with that its harder to keep frame rate smooth.Although its worth noticing that the 3 parts DF chosen for frame rate analysis are the worst one bearing performance.Game is by no stretch of imagination unplayable, its generally smooth.

And may I say, once in motion this game looks better than anything else in motion.Because of beautiful camera/object motion blur, dynamic lighting and shadowing and completely interactive water.Nothing looks better, although there is some on the same level, only corridorish games with lots of baked stuff(UC2,KZ3).
