Crysis 2 Digital Foundry Comparison

The only reason people bring this up is because of spite. For a LONG time all the cows have been saying the X360 can't catch up/will never have another CGK. Now that it has they are forced to eat 2+ yrs of crow. Not saying the lems didn't have a hand in this with GeOW as well, but it is fair to say sony started it w/ ridiculous hype.

Crysis 2 doesn't look that great, play it and you'll see. Alan Wake looks better and as well as games like UC2, KZ3, and GOW3. People in this thread are going off screens and haven't even played the game, yet their touting "teh graphics king". All I have to say folks is play all the games I listed before forming an opinion.

Please leave this thread. I feel myself loosing brain cells reading your posts. If you're playing in 3D, PS3 is the way to go. If you're playing in 2D, 360 is the way to go. They gave 360 the overall win though, but it doesn't stop people from having their preferences. The same way Gamespot said KZ3 and UC2 looks better than Crysis 2, but pepole still have their preferences. Stop being so thrirsty to claim ownage off a multiplat when Alan Wake, a 360 exclusive, looks better than this.

Regardless, the macro point is that 360 can produce visuals on par with the best PS3 exclusives. Ultimately, this is the point that you are trying so heavilyto DC by any means possible.

UC2 has more polygons, FACT, itsHD and Crysis 2 isn't, FACT, It has higher AA, FACT, therefore it has better technical graphics whether you like it or not. You're entitled to your opinion though. BOTH versions dip! They just say PS3 dips a bit less at times in heavy combat. Probably due to the mandatory install. Why not install 360's version and compare!? It also says 360 has the better overall frame rate, visuals,and performance. 360 holds the NEW console standard. Great isn't it!? Gears 3 will top even Crysis though, so nobody needs to worry. :)

That C2 heli crash gif easily looks as good as your gif. Same with the C2 water gif.

However, I agree with KVO as far as saying C2's framerate is too inconsistent to say it's on par with UC2 and KZ3, BUT it's a multiplat on 3 platforms and their 1st console title. That's my opinion, though. Many other sites seem to think it's a highly advanced game and as good, or better than anything else on consoles. Even DF stated it's effects are more advanced than anything on consoles.

Can't you just accept that it's impressive? Can't cows admit that their claims that the 360 couldn't handle Heavenly Sword, MGS4, KZ2, GT5, and UC2 were wrong. Even the creator of Cell CPU said as much.

Well, the DF article ended with "On balance, 360 has the edge in terms of visuals and general performance, but PS3 more than holds its own, bettering the Microsoft platform in some areas."

That said, apparently the ps3 version has better 3d, and a better framerate in a few specific areas of the game.

While frame rate can be nuts DF definitely picked 2-3 instances where it goes "down under" :) Like,first mission is definitely bad and that tank incounter.Other than that its REALLY good,even DF said it.But couple of missions are a bit unoptimized.

No,UC2 has dynamic shadows,every game has them but in Crysis 2 EVERY SINGLE ONE is dynamic since TOD changes every time you boot the game again.

What?Thats exactly what people CAN except.It seems like SOME people can't except that Crysis 2 is one of the best looking games on consoles,to lot reviewers even the best.We all have opinions but to listen opionion of the guy that never played the game and the guy who says AW looks better,again,game he hasn't played is crazy.He is on his **** 24/7,that makes this even worse.This guy really has hard time accepting it.

That C2 heli crash gif easily looks as good as your gif. Same with the C2 water gif.

However, I agree with KVO as far as saying C2's framerate is too inconsistent to say it's on par with UC2 and KZ3, BUT it's a multiplat on 3 platforms and their 1st console title. That's my opinion, though. Many other sites seem to think it's a highly advanced game and as good, or better than anything else on consoles. Even DF stated it's effects are more advanced than anything on consoles.

Can't you just accept that it's impressive? Can't cows admit that their claims that the 360 couldn't handle Heavenly Sword, MGS4, KZ2, GT5, and UC2 were wrong. Even the creator of Cell CPU said as much.

The lighting is impressive, but that's the only thing I see that's head and shoulders above other games. Everything I've seen of the game thus far looks like lighting is the effect that the game falls back on every time to show off its graphical chops.

I will play it, maybe this weekend, and decide for myself. Either way, the difference between what this article says and the fanboy spewings in this thread about what it says are hilarious.

Also, no one has yet answered my question of where the article claims the 360 version wins in the comparison, or where the verdicts can be found on the site for that matter.

Thats completely your opinion but whats so special about this?Yea,nice lightning and water thats completely pre rendered as you can't interact with it.Go look on Crysis 2 flood to see what chaotic water looks like.Better yet,look at last bridge falling,thats sickest thing I have seen in game.

I can ask you the same thing, what about those Crysis 2 pics that blow PS3 exclusives out the water? UC2 has more polygons, FACT, itsHD and Crysis 2 isn't, FACT, It has higher AA, FACT, therefore it has better technical graphics whether you like it or not. You're entitled to your opinion though. Uncharted 2 had even more polygons then Crysis 1, but PC processing makes it look better than Uncharted 2. However Crysis 2 looks inferior to Crysis 1, especially the console version, which isn't HD, has lower polygons, and worse effects. Therefore we can conclude that UC2>>Crysis 2 console version.GAME.SET.MATCH.
