Nice sarcasm detector. >_>

It's like having 2 children, one with a 9:00 PM curfew (Child A), and another with a 11:00 PM curfew (Child B).

If their mother suddenly made both their curfews to be 9:30, surely Child A would be happy, but Child B would complain, wouldn't you?

mitu123

But how is anyone complaining about something on forums, killing PC gaming? How is that possible?

Anything is possible, maybe with enough complaints PC gamers will speak with their actions. Look at the complaints for this game, BF3 and DAII.

Ok, so if people stop complaining about DAII and BF3, PC gaming will...not be dying?

There was so much hate and complaints towards the PC version of MW2.

It was on the No.1 spot on steam top sellers for the entire year.

It's funny to blame consoles and all, but it the deveoplers' fault. Nobody forced them to do it, they did it to themselves.

I played it on the 360 during the beta and I didn't think that there was anything in Crysis 1 I couldn't do in Crysis 2. Just had to do it in a different way. Infact it was easier to tie stuff together and really get the most out of the suit.

I guess all of the PC fanboys whining "consolization" should actually shut it and play the game before making those claims.

Wasdie

You don't understand us PC gamers. :( You're primarily a console gamer.

Apparently logic and reasoning don't work at all.

You know who is truly killing PC gaming? The PC gamers thinking that every game to come to the platform needs to be 10x more robust and featured filled than the console counterparts AND be cheaper.

Why shouldn't PC gamers expect the game to be tailored to their platform when console games get games tailored to theirs?

The devs want money. They want to spread the game to as many platforms as possible. These platforms have limitations so they have to take that in mind when they design the game. Is not dev's fault that 360 lacks the power they would want to.

What does it have to do with consoles? There are plenty of vast open world games, with multiple powers on consoles.

Consoles may be capable (just barely) of running Oblivion for example, consolers however (according to devs) may not.

How else do you explain the dumbing down of gaming? Devs obviously think the market for consolers is "simple, quick, AWESOME" (DA2 lol)

You could, in theory, argue its both. With consoles trying to be PCs, it makes them more viable for games normally seen on PC. The drawback, is the devs find the "middle ground" where it works on both. And realistically speaking, that means being "dumbed down" (for lack of any better way to say it) compared to a PC-only game, since a console can't do what a PC can. Yes at the end of the day its the devs fault, but "consolization" does somewhat exist.

The thing is, WoW wasn't dumbed down, things were just made more convenient and alot of grinding was removed, normal mode dungeons were easy yes but heroic was pretty difficult and most if not all casuals could not beat heroic lich king even with the buff, playing your class effectively however remained fairly the same for most classes (difficulty wise).....infact Cataclysm probably rivals burning crusade in difficulty.

they took away 2 player options, speed and armor, and said its part of the suit? AKA consolized. Consoles killed another game. RIP Crysis

I like how on crysis you were able to switch between any mode you wanted for that right time of game play. Now its Easy mode with only 2 options

I think they should have buffed armor mode - only gave you about two extra seconds of survival in a straight-out gunfight. However, it seems like they're going to try and make the controls more intuitive - which was the main reason why I didn't use speed that much in Crysis except for getting from one area to another. That half-second delay in changing the mode was the difference between success and failure in some cases.

That said, if you think that Max Speed inherently means Max Strength, you're totally wrong. The muscle groups which control the ability to exert force from the ARMS =/= the muscle groups which control the ability to propel the body with the LEGS. Trying to route power to all of the muscles at the same time would probably burn out your suit. What they should have done was - as I said above - bind the Max Speed function to an easily accessible key.

The true sad thing about this is even if console are to blame for this there is no reason why 4 power couldn't work on consoles. What are you doing Crytek?

I guess consoles are so weak they can't handle more than 3 suit abilities. Give me a break. You PC elitists are a piece of work sometime.

That makes little sense to me - we've seen huge expansive games on consoles and thats just the level design. Taking away the options has nothing to do with consoles. Look at a game like Infamous - huge open world with multiple powers etc.

Well I didn't play Crysis a whole lot as my PC was acting up. But I don't know if I'll mind the changes they've made to the way your suit powers are accessed. The interface for that was a bit clunky. As I understand it all powers are still there. Not sure combining speed and power is such a bad thing. You'll still have to activate speed by pressing the sprint key. As I see it what it does is make it easier to transition into other things such as a power jump. Transferring the speed momentum into a power jump was tricky in Crysis. I don't see the benefit of holding onto that interface.

I'm more worried about the restrictions the setting/consoles might impose. I think there's plenty of room for them to make up interesting level design. It's just that it'll most likely feel more condensed and less open in its approach. More straight and narrow. Still, I think it'll be a good game.

I can't believe people are actually believing the OP! There are still all the original modes from Crysis! Crysis only had 4 modes Strength, Speed, Armor and Cloak. Not 5 like the OP wrote. The other "mode" he was referring to was real time weapon customization. Crysis 2 on the other hand has 3 modes Power (Speed and Strength), Cloak and Armor. Crysis 2 still have real time weapon customization.

It makes no sense what so ever to have speed option and strength separate in the first game. you have to switch to strength mode just to jump from speed mode?

Well see the thing is... Strength mode in Crysis didn't just make your arms stronger, it also made you jump higher, which means it increased leg strength.
