Crysis Demo pics (56k beware)

Compressed pics. Click on them for the full res image (click on it again when it opens if it isn't 1680x1050). These are pics from the demo with everything on "very high", but with AA at 0. I was too busy continuously picking my jaw off the floor to notice any jaggies, though.

Everything looked good until that picture of the guy. Guess you cant have good graphics of people, but having it for the environment is still good.

I get about 20-25 FPS, but it's surprisingly smooth. Never stutters at all. If I didn't have fraps I'd think I was getting around 40. I could probably get a good chunk more FPS if I wasn't stubborn and tried to lower the res from 1680x1050, or even any of the settings, since every one of them is on "very high". But it just looks too damn pretty.

The new Nvidia beta drivers didn't seem to make a difference, though, and I tried it before and after. I was hoping for 30 fps on very high settings, but oh well, it's close enough. And easily playable, which is what's most important. The full version is supposed to be even more optimized, so we'll see. That's with a Q6600 @ 2.4ghz, 8800GTX oc'd, 2gb RAM and Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

In the end, it more than met my expectations, graphically. The game in motion is unbelievable, pics don't really do it justice since it's hard to see the amazing depth of field/motion blur effects. You know in that one Crysis trailer where he's running at those Koreans in that same jungle environment that I posted in the 4th pic, and it sort of seems pre-rendered? The game really does look exactly like that.

You are playing on very high, at that FPS? That is fantastic! Dude, you should really install Vista 64 though, I personally have noticed a big difference between the two.

I have an identicle system as yours...but Im probably gonna play at a lower res. and just up AA slightly.

he doesnt have any AA enabled at all...he says that in his first post...but he plays it at a higher res. then the images he posted...they are just compresed.

Oh yeah, I had that off, too. Well, I had it for the application to set it, since I think Crysis itself controls AF. But I'm not sure. Also make sure you're not confusing the depth of field/motion blur effects with blurry textures.

320 or 640 megs? And what kinda CPU, ram etc? The demo is definitely more optimized than the beta. Just depends what settings you turn up.

how big are the levels? compared to Farcry...and how open are they.
