Crysis the best looking, most photorealistic game ever! Nuff said.

I hope this clip shoots down any claims by console fanboys lame claims that Killzone 3, Gears of War 3, Uncharted 2, ***insert any console game***, that's out on the Xbox 360/PS3 looks better than modded Crysis. Absolutely mindblowing:

Sorry if it's another Crysis thread but I recently came across this clip which I think best shows the near photorealism of Crysis that is unmatched compared to any currently or upcoming games on the Xbox 360/PS3.

Holy mother of God, a long time will pass before a game can surpass that! Absolutely amazing. Also, why shouldn't mods count? They're freely available, anyone can get them, not counting them is idiotic.

Well, that is the beauty of Crysis, you can push for photorealism or you can go for a beautiful art st1le Both games (Crysis/Warhead) already show this. And this is something people can't take it, that a game can at the same time have both.

I think THAT it the point of this thread, and all Crysis threads. We're not talking about a 2007 game that looked good. We're talking about a 2007 game that STILL looks good, that STILL pushes newly released hardware to its limits, a game whose engine can go beyond anything else out there. Crysis is basically what gaming could be if developers weren't afraid to go all out and play it safe for consoles.

That said, I think Far Cry 2 had some pretty good textures in some areas and it looks amazing, but it didn't have as much going on.

STALKER would get my vote for best graphics based on atmosphere.

Metro 2033 in DX11 looks pretty amazing, as does GTAIV.

But Crysis still wins because of all the other crazy stuff going on.

That's the amazing part it is still #1 in Graphics in 2010, 3 years after it's release and will be until Crysis 2 PC shows up (well have to see it on the PC maxed out first though, hope they didn't dumb it down for the consoles). I frankly can't think of a game reigning supreme for this long. It's a game way ahead of it's time. Now that we have faster GPUs we can now go back and appreciate it to it's fullest.

I don't play Crysis anymore, I've moved on, I may play it again when I get a new PC, as I personally think it is the best single-player FPS this gen. And please, leave the interrogation for someone else...

Flawed as Crysis is with all it's low res textures, it still looks better than every single console game, even unmodded. It even looks better than Metro 2033 when you see how physics affect the world.

Metro looks crazy once you start bumping the settings, but the enviroment is very static. And character models look like crap.

What? The character models in Metro 2033 are insanely detailed.The world maybe static but it has a very believable and "lived in" look.

While Crysis may look better overall Metro 2033 has areas which simply make your jaw hit the floor, its use of alpha blended lighting is amazing.

Ok, I'll settle for inconsistent then. It's just thatwhenever you meet a guy with FX a ski-mask, it looks litterally plastered on. It's just horrible to look at in such a stunning game.

Yes it does lack destructibilty, there are a few places where the walls crumbled apart under gun fire but thats about it, however most games lack destruction, sure they are getting better at it but only recently, this is something Crysis is the best at. Whats funny is Stranglehold a 2007 game has better destruction than most 2010 games.

However i don't think it makes the game worse for it. I love Metro 2033, its so atmospheric its sick, and considering its all set in tunnels its very diverse through great use of lighting and overall detail. Maybe in a few years we can have games which are as detailed as Metro but have the destruction of Crysis.
