Crysis vs Uncharted 2 graphics

Comparing a PC game to a console game is a little extreme and ridiculous knowing PC games pass any console game in graphics by far. Console to console is the more fair approach.

Oh well another graphics comparison thread by a PS3 user challenging PCs most technically advanced games, nothing new here.

The last picture is a pre-release bullshot.

Although Crysis looks great, and is probably technically better than Uncharted 2...I think Uncharted 2 looks better and is just more impressive.

The rock textures on the beaches in Crysis are really bad...not saying Crysis is a bad looking game but there are faults. Also, I think Uncharted 2's artstyle is vastly superior.

no but i played the first one, and that ones one of the best games ive ever played, the sequel builds on that and adds multiplayer.

I see the people claiming Uncharted 2 is close haven't taken note of the fact that no comparable media has been posted.

Have we got a Uncharacted 2 face vs a Crysis face? Game play footage vs game play footage? Vegetation vs vegetation? No, we have random screenshots that are not similar enough for comparison.

Showing the people saying Uncharted 2 looks as good as Crysis are hype driven.

Some of you need to take scale into consideration. Once you do, you'll easily see that Crysis is still the victor.mo0ksi

yes and if one is rendering a guy in a small scale lvl, and the other is rending and entire open world island, it matters. Thats part of the "graphics"

Scale isn't really a factor in visuals. It's surely a factor technically, and I believe we're all in agreement that Crysis is better technically than Uncharted 2...but this thread is about visuals.urdead18

Scale affects the quality of visuals because it has to take more assets into account. Any game can achieve a high quality level within a restricted space, the less rendered the higher quality the existing assets can be. For Crysis to have the scale it does while maintaining such a high quality level; it is a testament to the quality of the games visuals.

If Crysis were done at the scale of most console games; the quality level would be much higher.

UC2 looks good but I just don't see it coming even close to Crysis with everything squeezed out of it, in fact I don't think ANY console game will this gen, it's just out of their league.

Everything else in U2 beats Crysis, but still visually it's still behind crysis...

Assuming you mean maxed out, then yes. I actually play Crysis at graphics beyond what the developers intended thanks to the texture upgrade, Cvar and ToD mods the community personally developed. All maxed out at 30 fps.

I doubt it. I run a Q8200 @ 3.2Ghz, 4GB RAM, and dual 9800GTXs in SLI and I only play on 1280x1024 and have Crysis on very high with 2xAA and it lags and forget about running Crysis Warhead on Enthusist settings my comp will explode ... still waiting for DX 11 so I can finally max it out.

Everything else in U2 beats Crysis, but still visually it's still behind crysis...

yeah then this whole thing is over since you cant argue visuals since its all subjective. theres no such thing as 'best visuals' on top of that uncharted and crysis have two different art styles and cant even be compared.

if its not theres some issue. worst comes to worst try a mod.

maybe you have to buy a better quadcore or OC it higher, note that your CPU has to handle SLI and the game at the same time. It could also be that your PCIe slots run only at 4 or 8 with MultiGPUs, Or maybe you just forgot to enable SLI in your control panel lol.

Your running custom settings thats probably why and AA cuts my framerate by like 33% with 2xAA and probably 50%+ if I use 4xAA or higher. The only custom settings I'm using are to eliminate pop in.

Why do people even make these threads? Uncharted has nothing on crysis, not in models, animations, detail, enviroment, gameplay etc. Not to mention crysis is an opening world game with an extrememly interactive enviroment and uncharted is a corridor shooter.

We haven't seem some half decent Crysis screens yet, so I feel obliged to contribute. ALSO: Inb4 "lulz you gots 4FPS on a 50000000000000 dollar PC". Before spitting console fanboy drivel like that, look at my framerate on the top right corner of the screen. BTW, this is on my $700 PC from 2008.

Can we make this into a "post your crysis screens" thread? I took these yesterday on my puny 4850.
