Crysis vs Uncharted 2 graphics

Sooo, how many of youclaming Crysis has better graphics than Uncharted 2 will actually post pics of how it looks from your own setup, with proof? And then prove that you also have played/own unchrted 2 so that you have frecking clue about what you are talking about?

Fact is Crysis DOSEN'T destroy uncharted 2 unless you are running an ultra setup (what most of the troll on hereare posting as proof that it has better graphics than UC2). Now How many of you claiming Crysis looks better using those pictures can run that with you setup? if you can't then that's not your reality and YOU can't claim it because what you're looking at isn't better than what all PS3 owners see when they look at UC2. Crysis only looks better for you if you can run crysis at those ultra maxed out settings which 98% of you claiming itlooks better can not.

2. For the love of, those off screen shots makes both games look worse, a better camera would help, sorry, I had to say that. If you get direct screenshots of Uncharted 2 using black magic design intensity pro, a near $200 device to record games in HD, it will not look better than Warhead, unless you rely on cutscenes that use SSAO.:lol:

I didn't resize them, I reduced the resolution because Imageshack wouldn't let me put a 5MB screenshot. The real images are 4 times that resolution, and 4 times the size, so they didn't gain any quality by being compressed. But aren't you a developer? You're supposed to know that. And seriously, are you going to sink THAT low by posting the worst Crysis screen? This is like, 10 miles below rock bottom... But I guess I'll join your party. Here you go:

In my opinion, Crysis looks better, but not by a lot. Sure, it's still better, but Uncharted 2 looks really good.

realistically there both iun the same league (league doesn't mean completely equal). But crysis look Better. But uncharted 2 overall (including story and such) is better.

I played both U2 is the best looking console game, but playing Crysis, and Cryis Warhead you can't compare the two. Crysis just is the better looking game. Both games are both great looking and a blast to play, but Crysis just looks better.

So yeah, if it makes you feel better to tell yourself that no computer can run Crysis, by all means, go for it! Your loss. That is the benchmark tool used by EVERYONE. A rapid flythrough of the first level.

As someone who does some modding, let me point out to you that the draw counts and overall demands of that benchmark go FAR BEYOND anything any of the ToD art thread screenshots do.

The ToD artists are using in-game, real-time shaders that haven't been modified at all, which means there is no effect on the framerate when they modify the ToD(runs the same exact methods just with different variables. Creates a vastly different look without any overall performance difference). They use in-game assets which were developed to be run in real-time(by Crytek). And they design relatively sparse landscapes which have extremely low draw counts and very few overall demands. The simple fact is, honestly, those screenshots probably run BETTER than Crysis does, not worse.

Vanilla, un-modded Crysis is best in motion. In screenshots, it is still far better than anything else, but it pales in comparison to the mod work being done

I played both U2 is the best looking console game, but playing Crysis, and Cryis Warhead you can't compare the two. Crysis just is the better looking game. Both games are both great looking and a blast to play, but Crysis just looks better.

However, Crysis MODS are lightyears ahead.

Crytek, despite being great technically and doing a good job at using their tech in terms of art, wasted a TON of potential within their engine.

Modders have proven this time and again. The right adjustments and modifications to the game can make it FAR better looking graphically, not to mention many times actually improving performance. The ToD mods are just one example of that. Go further and start having modders design different levels and really using the engine to push the ART, and good lord you end up with stuff like this:

I highly doubt they are real as there is not a single jag even on the grass and again how many people could even be able to play it? I highly doubt anyone here or they would already posted a pic showing the framerate with looking as good to prove me wrong.

At 2560x1600 resolution and 2X FSAA, jaggies don't really exist... Certainly no polygon jaggies at that resolution. And the few sprite jaggies that would pop up are resolved by the FSAA.

I played that map. Multiple times. It looks like that. It also looks like this:

That map was made in a 3 month period, by one guy, in 2008. Modders have learned far more tricks since then, and many spend far more time making their maps...
