Oh high, graphics, yes. Gameplay, hahahaha! No, and definitely not story.

On the story you're righ; on the gameplay I'll suggest you to look at the vids from U2 and Crysis Warhead linked by myself in the previous page (14) of this topic and then come again to try to explain your words.

This topic is WAY too old to still be alive.

ON Crysis I could scale a cliff for a half hour to sneak in the back way, I could throw a dude through a house, I could killa guy froma KM away. Can you do any of this on UC or UC2 ?

Nope sadly, would be cool though.:P

I love that everything has to break even. "Crysis has great graphics so the gameplay must be mediocre."Ugh

Yes, gameplay.

Not even close, Crysis suffers from the repetition of repeated encounters that happen to almost never be any different than before. Coupled with the generic FPS action we've all seen before and some cool aspects of the suit, I'll admit the gameplay is good, but not as good as Uncharted 2 in, well, most sanepeoples opinions.

I love Crysis but graphics are completely different from gameplay, and Uncharted 2 beats it out gameplay wise. I don't have to look at your vids when I've played both games myself. No matter what game platform you hold your allegiance to, they all have limits and gameplay wise Crysis doesn't compare. Of course someone who has only played Crysis could just go ahead and blindly say that if they want to, it is SW after all.

Each battle happens in different circumstances, and you can tackle them in different ways (in crysis). Crysis definately has good gameplay.

Repetition of repeated encounters in Crysis? This is a joke right? There are almost unlimited possibilities when it comes to encountering enemies in Crysis. From Gamespot review, "Like Far Cry, the first half of Crysis is essentially a "sandbox" game where you're put in the middle of incredibly large levels and tasked with an objective. How you get the job done is pretty much entirely up to you, which is part of the brilliance of the game's design. For instance, the environments are big enough to give you a wide range of latitude. Do you have to get to a certain point on the map? You can take a meandering route that avoids patrols and go stealthy, or try the up-front approach and try to blast your way through, with the danger of enemy reinforcements showing up. Need to infiltrate a North Korean-held village? You can try the front gate, or maybe explore and find a quieter way in. Couple these huge environments with the powers of the nanosuit, and you have a ton more options. You can play like the eponymous character from the movie Predator and use your cloaking abilities to stalk North Korean patrols, picking them off one by one and watching the survivors react in confusion. That could be via a silenced rifle, or simply coming up from behind a guard and grabbing him by the throat and hurling him off a cliff, or through the roof of a building, or against a tree, or whatever catches your fancy. Enhanced speed and strength give you an amazing amount of mobility, so you can vault atop buildings and come down behind someone, or run up against a North Korean vehicle next to a cliff and push it over the side. In a heartbeat you can switch between different roles, from stealthy assassin to seemingly unstoppable death dealer. It's a game that makes you feel like a superhero, though not an invincible one, because you simply can't run roughshod over the enemy. Crysis rewards smart, fast thinking. "

Crysis has one of the worst gameplay in a game I've ever played. Each battle does not happen in different circumstances if you are playing on Delta. You just pop up and empty a clip into them, then cloak and slink around. The enemy AI is completely incompetent. If you were playing smartly, every encounter would involve you with a silencer, picking away at the heads of your enemies from far away. Jump up a cliff? You've used up all your energy, so the enemy takes you down in two shots. Run up to them? They take you down in four. The enemy can take more of a beating than you, which makes zero sense seeing as how you have the fricken nano suit. The developers scream at you to use stealth, which apparently means cloaking, uncloaking, waiting for your energy to recharge, then moving on while cloaked. The execution of gameplay mechanics is absolutely horrible. They tell you that you can technically do anything, but practically? Nope. And that is only the first levels. The latter alien levels are even worst. They don't even pretend to give you different choices, you can only go one way and pick off the aliens who happily walk along their merry way, not noticing you. Multiplayer was pretty good in the first Crysis, but hacks and just plain lazy netcode completely crippled it. They pretty much took a crap on the Wars and sold it in boxes, because that multiplayer was even worst. In the end, Crysis may be fun at the beginning, but afterwards you are just going to regret wasting time on such a piece of crap. Playing the demo pretty much gives you the whole experience. Graphically, Crysis may be superior, but in my opinion Crysis falls way behind in gameplay versus Uncharted 2 and many other shooters.

Say what you wish,as a shooter, Crysis is far superior to Uncharted 1&2.

Its an honor to be compared to Crysis though, PS3 exclusives have really come a long way, lets see if any 360 exclusives will be compared to Crysis in the future.

So, by comparison I can say U2 sucks because enemies don't die by their own and I have to shoot them, making the game completely boring.

What the heck are you talking about? Crysis has one of the best gameplays to be found in gaming.

"Playing the demo gives you the whole experience".

No, just no. I facepalmed so hard my nose started bleeding. You really haven't played it, it's painfully obvious

I think that you have tons of ways to do the work in Crysis, I myself made my 4th run over the campaign without the use of the Cloack or the silencers, and I known some people that did the full campaign only with the pistol -except against the bossees-, and I'm always talking about playing in Delta.

I have no vids about my runs throught Crysis, but I fully recorded -and youtubed- my full Warhead campaign; here some pieces, to refuse your "always the same":

Shore Leave:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8G6PYdwwYk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPgorxyk0ho

Adapt Or Perish:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebVwD37nGYk

Frozen Paradise:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLzW1rr9jIg

From Hell's Heart:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvAo28YPxU8

All The Fury:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B4O1jiLVjY

I must add that Warhead is way harder because the amount of enemies per square feet, but as you can look in the vids, there's a good balance between stealth moments, sniping, old run-and-gun and the use of the explosives.

And this moves me to the second part of your text: I think that Crysis Wars (multiplayer) and Warhead are the perfect examples of how overrated is Halo 3: ODST, and how you must do a expansion.

1-Crysis Wars is way better mp than the original one. You have 23 maps -the first 9 plus another 14 new ones-, a new game mode (Team Instant Action) a integral autodownloading system -that, as in UT games, gives you the chance to instantly download and isntall any new map you find in any server, playing ist at the moment- that increased the maps in my HD from 23 to near to 100, and a better balance between the weapons, plus a more useful Cloak in the mp, and 3 new weapons. And you don't need the disc in your HD. to play. In the other hand, Halo 3: ODST doesn't provide significative improvements in the number of new maps (only 3), and needs to change your disc to play from Firefight mode to ****cal Halo 3 mp.

2-Any thing good you can said about ODST sp campaing is better in Warhead, from the music, to the graphics, the physics, the weapons, the handling of the vehicles, the use of night vision, the cutscenes, the plot -not so great in both-... and of course the level of freedom to reach your objectives. The only thing in that both are really bad is in the boss fights.

Hey guys, I wanna buy a new graphics card capable of running Crysis on ultra high graphics. I don't have a lot of money but I hear the nvidia Gefore 8800 series can run crysis and is at fairly reasonable price. But there are 3 types, now what's the difference between the Geforce 8800 GTX, 8800 GTS and the 8800 GT? Which is the cheapset, what would be my best bet?

If you seriously think UC2 looks as good as Crysis, you're either brainwashed by Sony, or you're a fakeboy trying to make cows look bad.

I don't really care much for bragging rights which is what threads like this amount to. There's always something that's going to be better than what's out now. Uncharted 2 looks great, having played it at a friend's. I certainly like sports (FIFA and Madden) games for the PS3 more.

I usually stay out of Game A vs Game B arguments. That's just too opinionated. But for technical stuff, I may chime in sometimes.

That said, someone mentioned about only a few people being able to play Crysis at High or Very High and wanted to see what medium detail with no AA looks like. So, here goes. And yes, these are pics of Crysis......

I play at 1440x900. So, it's not even full HD.

Medium detail, no AA:

2xAA at Very High. It's still playable even with 28 fps:

The settings I play in and finished both games in. 2xAA, a mix of both High-Very High graphics settings, Low sound:

Can we even run crysis on ultra yet?

PSdual_wielder

There is a file on Crysis installation directory that you can open with notepad and edit a value. Then you can see see in-game Ultra High option of course you need a good gaming pc and dx 10 or better.

8800 GT 512 mb can max crysis/warhead 1280x1024 no aa fine, when you use the ingame anti aliasing option though it kills framerates, if you force anti aliasing through the nvidia diver control panel the framerate hit isnt as bad...but i dont even notice jaggies really in crysis anyway so the lower framerate isnt worth it.

[QUOTE="TheElfChild"][QUOTE="navyguy21"]its not even in the same league, not even on the same PLANET as Crysis, that said, its still a great looking game, no doubt about it. The gameplay is what matters, so i wish people would stop with the graphics threads............PLEASEnavyguy21
But graphics is what sets the good graphics apart from the Wii!

Obviously graphics arent the number one factor in gaming because the wii is winning, and every console that has ever won was the "weakest". Uncharted will outsell KZ2 because of its gameplay. KZ2 was hyped because of graphics and we see how far that takes you. Gameplay is the real seller...........thats why Halo sells, its just fun to play, doesnt matter how it looks. Graphics only matter to insecure fanboys IMO

Really? PSone was the weakest of that gen? interesting....

I'm curious, since Crysis2 is coming to consoles, does that mean the graphics will be better or worse than Crysis1?

are the graphics for uncharted 2 better than what was onthe demo? If not, what is everyone talking about? They were not great. MGS4 and killzone 2look better and more importantly, play better.

[QUOTE="HOMIE_G64"]Crysis has one of the worst gameplay in a game I've ever played.

I play Crysis on delta with advanced a.i. mod and i use guns maybe 30% of the time
