but i dont think that x360 is going to have enough storage space and processing power to match the PC version. PS3 will have enough resources to reach that specific point where it will feel like the godly PC version.

We can only dream to get crysis. But if it were to get ported it would probably get downgraded and would be on the Xbox360 since it says games for windows but i dont really know.

Crysis is a RAM taxing game which is why I doubt it will ever see the light of day on either console and if it does, they will be dupped down.eastside49er

Except consoles use ram much better then any pc. Not to mention they are already coming out with technologies to store high amounts of textures on smaller amounts of Ram( John Carmack is showing it off at this years E3) A high end version of Crysis is completely possible on both consoles.

This thread is disgusting. Yeah they wont port it because they dont want to mar the beauty of crysis just for a couple more dollars.

keep that dream alive. only thing carmack has shown so far is supertextures, which take massive amounts of hard drive space.

MADVLAD123

Well put on both points. Crysis will be completely downgraded if it comes out on either platform, like DOOM 3 or Half-Life 2 on Xbox 1. And the downgrade would be equal for both (actually probably more drastic on PS3 if we go by all the evidence so far but I'll ignore that for the sake of the cows' dignity)

why r hermits acting like Crysis is going to sell like crazy? it wont, they are going to have to put this game on ps3 and x360 to get their money back and make profit.\

It will be a big game for PC dont get me wrong but for that reason they will port it over to x360 and ps3 to make really good money, i believe that is their plan anyway.

LMAO @ this thread. Crytek AND EA confirmed that Crysis as we know it will never se the light of day on consoles. Sure, a "dumbed down" port is physically possible, but it is NOT going to happen. It is heavily rumored that Crytek themselves are going to develop a seperate game using Cryengine 2 on the PS3. That seems to be a very, very solid possibility.

organic_machine

I love this because what hermits fail to realize if the consoels cant run it well then neitehr can any of yoru pc's you bought a year ago . Also EA never stated it wouldnt come to consoles and to be honest I dont want it coming to consoles. You know why? Because Crytek has never made a console game in there life. Id much rather them test the waters building a game from the ground rather then porting something made for pc's .

Except that development costs are relatively low on PCs, and that Crysis has been optimized to play on as many PCs as humanly possible. As Microsoft stated, "There are over 200 million PC gaming customers out there". We have by far the largest userbase. Some games like Half-Life one sold incredibly well, and are one of the bset selling games of all time. Its a matter of attaining widespread word of mouth. I think its almost achieved that.

im pretty sure MS is feeding them cash because this will be a cash cow for their Vista/DX10 crap. i doubt they give a damn. secondly, everybody and their brother will get this for PC if they can run it, which wont take that much.

I dont need to keep the dream alive. COD4 is already on Crysis level visuals and every video shown so far is from the 360 version. Now take into account every dev under the sun says if programed for correctly the PS3 is more capable then the 360 . To say that if a game built from the ground up couldnt run on a console is absolutely ridiculous. As for the hardrive space the PS3 has plenty that too.

And you have absolutely no evidence to back up that claim. I however, do have evidence that Microsoft has stated the size of the PC gaming userbase. Theres a larger chance that Crysis will be able to sell a whole lot, than not.

Um not on Crysis its development cost alone cost 25million dollars making it among the most expensive games of all time.( Yes those visuals come at a cost) thats not even counting marketing. And 200 million users? Um id hate to tell you but not even 10 million will be able to run Crysis at settings that look anything remotely close to the videos that have been shown.

How does it not make sense? It's justified and you're a hypocrite. Your #2 statement is clearly what doesn't make sense here. How canHE not be making sense, but you basically agreeing that COD 4 is going to look better than Killzone 2 does? Do you have the ability to see into the future and know what KZ2 looks like? Didn't think so.

Um yes it does we can do a screenshot comparison if you like. And unlike CO2 which was a pc port COD4 was built as the 360 version being the main SKU . And most pc's wont run it anywhere near as well as the 360 version. All pics you have seen so far are from the 360 version.

You also have to take into account the lower licensing fees and practically no royalties a system like the PC presents. Thats why games are still so cheap.

agreed about the space. clearly the PS3 has no problems there.COD4 is nowhere close to crysis visually

if you cant see a GIGANTIC difference in these games, you shouldnt be speaking about graphics, im being serious here, cause they are on different levels. i can pick the COD4 screens to pieces, even the obvious video pics are somewhat lacking compared to crysis gameplay pics.

just for grins, here is 2 gameplay pics

http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/902/902590/img_4512056.html

closest pic of gameplay i can find for COD4, similar grassy foliage type pic, crysis clearly destroys this

I know the development cost are cheaper overall there is no doubt of that( hence the reason it gets the most games) but Crytek is not your run of the mill cheap game. Hell the only game I even know annoucned with a budget as large as Crysis is KZ2.

And 200 million users? Um id hate to tell you but not even 10 million will be able to run Crysis at settings that look anything remotely close to the videos that have been shown.

its obvious now that its coming to x360 and ps3, im sure it wont come out right away, but a year down the road i will be playing Crysis on my Ps3 and my fellow lemms too, but im not so sure for the sheep.

why r hermits acting like Crysis is going to sell like crazy? it wont, they are going to have to put this game on ps3 and x360 to get their money back and make profit.

GermanShepard06

Except that development costs are relatively low on PCs, and that Crysis has been optimized to play on as many PCs as humanly possible. As Microsoft stated, "There are over 200 million PC gaming customers out there". We have by far the largest userbase. Some games like Half-Life one sold incredibly well, and are one of the bset selling games of all time. Its a matter of attaining widespread word of mouth. I think its almost achieved that.

Crysis is going to be a great game but sales r not going to be nowhere near that of Half-Life.

And you have absolutely no evidence to back up that claim. I however, do have evidence that Microsoft has stated the size of the PC gaming userbase. Theres a larger change that Crysis will be able to sell a whole lot, than not.

but only 000000000.3% are capable to run Crysis in its full glory, soo good luck.

So you syaing that 99% of pc gamers are poor, dont have jobs, on welfere ect?

[QUOTE="eastside49er"]Crysis is a RAM taxing game which is why I doubt it will ever see the light of day on either console and if it does, they will be dupped down.Polaris_choice

Except consoles use ram much better then any pc. Not to mention they are already coming out with technologies to store high amounts of textures on smaller amounts of Ram( John Carmack is showing it off at this years E3) A high end version of Crysis is completely possible on both consoles.

keep that dream alive. only thing carmack has shown so far is supertextures, which take massive amounts of hard drive space.

I dont need to keep the dream alive. COD4 is already on Crysis levle visuals and every video shown so far is from the 360 version. Now take into accoutn every dev under the sun says if programed for correctly the PS3 is more capable then the 360 . To say that if a game built fron the ground up couldnt run on a console is absolutely ridiculous. As for the hardrive space the PS3 has plenty that too.

lol...COD4 doesnt even look close to crysis....and like COD2....will look better on the PC....especially since COD4 is a DX10 game.

Um yes it does we can do a screenshot comparison if you like. And unlike CO2 which was a pc port COD4 was built as the 360 version being the main SKU . And most pc's wont run it anywhere near as well as the 360 version. All pics you have seen so far are from the 360 version.

yes, go ahead and post comparison screenshots so we can all laugh at you.

COD2 was a PC port? really? thats news to me....

and virtually every console port still ends up looking better on the PC (Oblivion)

You also have to take into account the lower licensing fees and practically no royalties a system like the PC presents. Thats why games are still so cheap.

I know the development cost are cheaper overall there is no doubt of that( hence the reason it gets the most games) but Crytek is not your run of the mill cheap game. Hell the only game I even know annoucned with a budget as large as Crysis is KZ2.

Then if its truly taking such an incredibly large ammount of money and they CANT POSSIBLY recoup their earnings.........why on earth is it still a low budget next gen title in compared to consoles? If they truly feared they couldn't pull a profit, they'd obviously highten the price. I think this shows they have a fair ammount of faith in their product.

agreed about the space. clearly the PS3 has no problems there.COD4 is nowhere close to crysis visually

http://media.pc.ign.com/media/694/694190/imgs_1.html

if you cant see a GIGANTIC difference in these games, you shouldnt be speaking about graphics, im being serious here, cause they are on different levels. i can pick the COD4 screens to pieces, even the obvious video pics are somewhat lacking compared to crysis gameplay pics.

just for grins, here is 2 gameplay pics

http://media.pc.ign.com/media/694/694190/img_3577746.html

http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/902/902590/img_4512056.html

closest pic of gameplay i can find for COD4, similar grassy foliage type pic, crysis clearly destroys this

You didnt even link your pics but what you fail to realize is Crysis jungles scenes look far better then the rest of the game. The Char models in COD4 look everybit as good as Crysis. That horrible pic you show of the grass does not do the game justice at all I downloaed the HD trailer on my 360 and it looks far superior. COD4 is one of the most technically impressive games visually out there if you cant admit that then you shouldnt be talking about visuals. And stop acting like Crysis is the average pc game its the exception not the rule. There is no otherpc exclusivegame coming out that even looks close to Crysis

most of that cost is from the engine....which is being licenced to other Devs....oh and BTW....Nvidia, Intel, and MS are all funding Crytek....

AMD/ATI is soooo doomed.

lol...once again you have shown everyone you have no clue what you are talking about....Nvidia's logo is on every other PC games....yet they work fine with ATI cards...

Not thats mere conjecture based off the misconception that PC gamers don't have rigs capable of running Crysis, or that are interetested in Crysis.

far superior to the small little box video on gametrailers, at what, 680 or so pixels. wow, i wonder why the native 720 or 1080 image is so much better. crysis is regarded as a technical marvel, COD4 is a fart in the wind, and no one cares

oh, and are you seriously too lazy to copy and paste a link? it takes 2 seconds. some people blow my mind

Way to completely overstate the system requirements? Its been stated that one 8800, 2 gigs of ram, and a e6600 will be enough to run it in ultra fidelity.

hey people, look lets not go that far and say that Crysis is going to look as good as the godly pc with 8800gtx sli but it can still look great on x360 and ps3.
