[QUOTE="GermanShepard06"]but i dont that x360 is going to have enough storage space and processing power to match the PC version. PS3 will have enough resources to reach that specific point where it will feel like the godly PC version.

but 1gb ram + 128mb video ram - os requirments = over 900mb consoles simply lack ram, its a fact you can't deny. no wonder consoles like killing their dvd drives since they have to stream becasue $ony m$ don't want to pay the tiny bit extra to put in enough ram

Crysis requires 6 gigs of hard drive space.

u got that from MS times?
I don't know if that was suppose to be funny or not but if do a google you will easily find the system requirments. 6 gigs of hard drive space. Did you think it required 50 gigs or something.
there are no offical requirements out

dude, u have no idea what ur talking about, and u have no idea how things work on PC's.
could you please stop making threads/talking about anything technical. to think that Crysis would take more than 6 gig is silly. like most PC games, you install about 6 gigs of sounds, levels, etc. and the rest is run from the disc.
runs from the disk  I have never bought a pc game that runs anythng from the disk. you can take the disk out in the middle of a game and it wont do anything

exactly what I was going to say, this game requires 2 gigs of ram to play.
PC ram is different from console RAM, pcs have to run a s*** load of stuff in the background. And PS3 has uber uber fast VRAM 3.2GHz RAM. Also streaming textures and compression could make it possible with the 512mbs of RAM on current gen consoles.
right now I still have 1.5gb system ram free and most of my 256mb vram. on a side not my vram is only clocked at 1000mzh but is way faster than the ram in any console. 32mb/s >25mb/s>22mb/s 256bit bus owns 128bit, 128bit is on your buget cards
seems like its gotten out of control with the quotes?Heil68
Indeed!
Just have a coffee whilst I sort the thread out please :)
Ok I will now reopen thbis thread.
However a lot of the conversation has gone and 3 members are on a little vacation. Just carry on the best you can.
Keep ALL quote chains to 5 quotes please - and that includes deleting the names. Just deleting the posts still leaves the post disruptive.
Thanks for your patience whilst this was closed.

I agree with the fact that the game would have to be toned down a bit to play on consoles, the fact that it requires 2 gigs of ram on computer doesn'ttranslate toconsoles. Computers use up alot more ram than consoles due to operating systems and backround apps.
Vista in all its glory uses 500 RAM (with 60 processes in my case) .. thats 1500 RAM left over, ah but Vista also free's up even more RAM from the system when using an application (game) ... so theres even more RAM there.
ITs still a hell of alto better.
[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="GermanShepard06"]Those systems don't even have the raw memory to reproduce the detailed destruction that Crysis entails. Crytek THEMSELVES have stated that, "Crysis will never be on consoles". I'd rather take their word for it than your mere conjecture.hey people, look lets not go that far and say that Crysis is going to look as good as the godly pc with 8800gtx sli but it can still look great on x360 and ps3.
Polaris_choice
Um coming from a dev that has never made a console game in his life I would not take his word for anything. What id rather see is a console dev make an exclusive that easily meets are beats Crysis and that I think you will see.
Il take your word for it, if I see a console game as big as Oblivion that runs perfectly as the PC version, the next test is Two Worlds .... but it doesnt even look as good as oblivion.
Infact, come back when you show me some large console sandbox games with the BEST graphics around and dont make things disapear at about 10 yards (Liar and GTA).
[QUOTE="eastside49er"]Crysis is a RAM taxing game which is why I doubt it will ever see the light of day on either console and if it does, they will be dupped down.GermanShepard06
Lair on ps3 is a good sign that ps3 has the resources and tools to make 512mb of ramlook like 2gigs on a PC.
You have no idea what you're talking about, do you?the only thing you do is think and hope. you never know stuff.
try to post some facts or some objective info sometimes

Polaris_choice
Thats whyI wanted to post as I knew you wouldnt have the balls to compare to indoor areas to each other. In said you blow up the COD4 pic make it look like crap and show the best pic of Crysis on the net.
Fine....then find any other picture....none of them even look close as good....
Every indoor area of Crysis is on the same levle of COD4 visually.

how do you link a thought? he clearly stated he thinks. while he is clearly lacking in technical knowledge, this was a worthless boost of your thread count while adding nothing to the conversation. thanks for nothing

Your search - "but i dont think that x360 is going to have enough storage space and processing power to match the PC version. PS3 will have enough resources to reach that specific point where it will feel like the godly PC version" - did not match any documents.
Suggestions:
not in its current form, i dont think it will. crytek just went nuts with the tech. at max details that game is going to push a 8800GTx pretty hard. ijust dont think the content could be put on a console and still keep it at a stable framerate.
however i do believe we will see games based on the crysis engine for consoles.

To bad there won't be any babes...
The CryEngine 2 will be ported to the consoles, not Crysis the game.milsvaardIndeed. I wonder why people always get this confused.
