Like Rainbow Six vegas? derrrrr or Shadowrun which is more technical than any PC only exclusive.
Did you just call Vegas technical? Any PC Rainbow Six fan would SMACK you for that statement. Its the most action oriented POS in the entire series.Once again, we're talking gameplay here. Its already been established that ino rder to appeal to a more widestream (console) audience, lots of developers end up toning down the gameplay, hence consolization/casualization if yo're PC.Vandalvideo
Sorry, just no.
As a fan of LGS and System Shock 2, it was obvious they couldn't make SS3 due to legal issues, yet if it was SS3, no one would complain much that its more of the same of SS2.
Half Life 2 was a "fresh coat of paint" from Half Life 1.
Halo 3 is a "fresh coat of paint" of Halo 2.
As a spiritual successor, Bioshock was going to be a fresh coat of paint of System Shock 2.
Making it a console game too had nothing to do with it. No, not even the harsh weapon degrading system which has seemingly been taken out.
[QUOTE="FrozenLiquid"]Please, give me some PC titles which have HDR on the level of Halo, if your statement still stands.VandalvideoMaybe if I was qualified to examine the intricacies of high dynamic range I could explain to you how there are games on the PC that trump it. However, I can't. I can say that Half-Life 2 has amazing HDR, but saying any more than that is entirely opinion like, "I think it looks beter than Halo 3". Obviously looks can be deceiving.
Exactly.
So your statement doesn't stand.

You keep COMPLETELY missing the point of my post. I'm not saying they should have made System Shock 3, not at all. What I'm saying is they were obligated to tone down the gameplay for the more casual oriented audiecne that is found on consoles.I dunno,
But it took the B3d forumites to count the pixels for you to figure that one out, didn't it?
Personally, I don't care with the fantastic lighting. It could have fooled me. I just thought it had no AA.

Who really cares what Crytek has to say about Halo 3? I know I don't. It's a shame their game won't even sell 1/10 as many copies as Halo 3 and supposely their game is superior. What does Crytek have to say about that?

Shooters from this millennium would be preferable. Ok UT and Half-life 2 were in the same league as Halo within the past few year but the others certainly were not. I play both consoles and PC and I find his statement arrogant.
All video games are from this millennium.lol, I think he meant this generation. Anyway, I hate this PC FPS are always superior mentality. It may have been true 7 years ago, but standards have changed and the technology is much more comparable this time around (as in console technology is not as restrictive as it used to be so there is nothing holding the consoles back from reaching the calibur of PC FPS. There is no excuse, only arrogance. I hate to say this, but Half-life 2 isn't exactly leaps and bounds ahead of any other FPS in the market. It was technically impressive (it still looks good), but the A.I. is nothing to write home about. You missed the true meaning as to why I said that.I am not really sure what you meant because technically videogames started last millenium, seeing as how it is 2007 and the new millenium started in 2000. :P Of course,I wasn't directing what I said at you necessarily, I just happened to express my opinion in your quote chain.[QUOTE="RickGotti"]The funny thing is, is that Far Cry was the worst console shooter I've played in a looooooooong time. Console shooters aren't 5-6 years behind anything. Shoot. 007 Golden is still better then most shooter from 5-6 years ago. Halo 1, 2 & 3 were better then Doom, Wolftenstein, Serious Sam, Duke Nukem and many of those other games from years ago. The only reason PC shooter look better is because they have better graphic cards & processors in their systems. Let me upgrade the XBox 360 to the same specs as atop of the line PC and then tell me which game looks and plays better. That's what I thought. Crytek allowed Ubisoft to release a bad port of their game to consoles is Cryteks fault. They should have oversaw the development of that game. If Crysis doesn score a 9.5 or higher it will be considered a FLOP on these forums.

You have to admt there were some consoleriffic features in Bioshock, though. Like the shimmering loot, the usable object highlight, the adaptive training, the *quest arrow* that literally dynamically points you exactly where you need to go. This is all stuff you wouldn't have found in Bioshock if it was PC-only, I assure you. And I'm not complaining about those things since you can turn them off, but they are very clear examples of the "consolization" of Bioshock.

no my opinion that "it's the most fun i have ever had" is a FACT, because i'm only referring to myself. Your claims are somehow drawing conclusions from the entire RS community that RSV sucks.
I play RSV with college buddies and family members who used to play the ORIGINAL Rainbow six, and I haveyet to beslapped by any of them yet. Actually almost all of them really like the new rainbow six. we all agree that it's no longer the same game, but that doesn't make it bad.
Please do NOT assume i have never played the original RS games. I have been a PC gamer ever since i got my 286 with dune 1 and Wing commander 1. The last console i had before my 360, was a SNES when i was still in High School, and I have to admit, that the 360 is actually a pretty good gaming machine.

The Wii seems to have figured out a nice workaround. I predict that if we don't see a kb/m standardized on consoles, they'll start to include motion-sensing capabilities mainly for shooters. It's way more accurate than analog joysticks. If nothing else, at least Nintendo showed us that.

See this is why 360 fanboys are the worst...they can never admit that a genre is superior on another platform...no console games have done anything that wasnt done on the PC before...it was just dumbed down for consoles so that "other" people would want to play the games.
