 Extreme but sort of true. There's still good stuff on the mainstream systems--Playstation and Xbox--but soooooo many companies are changing directions and/or utilizing dlc to rape the consumer. It's odd that the Nintendo brand is likely going to become the core console; in the sense that it probably won't be advertized to death on websites and forums, and let the gameplay speak for itself. People that are truly enthusiastic about games will seak it out.Shewgenja

This is exactly why I think in the long run Wii U will be the console of choice. Because you dont have to worry about being DRM'd and DLC'd to death as you put it.

Most of the modern games I have, have DLC for them, how much DLC have I bought? next to nothing.

I also believe that Nintendo was smart for making a moderately powerful system that doesnt cost much extra to dev for over the current gen stuff. If the rumors about dev costs doubling (or getting much higher) for the PS4 and 720 are true, a lot more dev houses are going to go out of business. The industry is having a hard enough time with inflated budgets and pubs bitching that a game didnt meet their crazy high sales expectations. Im sorry having to sell 5 million just to break even is not smart business.

Something big? The stuff I read here is just Nintendo people being positive about their product, like any other product they announce. They don't seem that enthusiastic.
