Dante's Inferno GS review - 6.5

I knew this was coming, but nope, nobody listened. From the demo I could tell it was going to be around this. I wonder if God of War III will outscore it...? :Paaronmullan

I rarely ever (and I mean EVER) want a game to do poorly. But I really want this team to see that blatantly stealing ideas and mechanics just isn't going to fly in this industry. With that being said, I'm glad there will be no more question about it being better than God of War III...NAPK1NS

When I was playing the demo, I could not get over at how much of a blatant God of War rip-off it was.

I really enjoyed the demo and I am not going to cancel my preorder for the game.

didn't like the demo in the first place, had to force myself to finish it even on easy mode, there just wasn't anything there that seemed rewarding or satisfying and the technical merits of the game were kinda low, that said i didn't expect anything as low as a 6.5

sucks for EA anyways since they just paid for superbowl advertising for the game

Frankly i could care less what GS scores games anymore... They gave WKC a 6.0 and I am having a blast in that gaem and loving thi story and gameplay... It's so refreshing to have a game that is like a moderinized SNES/PS1 era jrpg with modern graphics and fresh online features (which GS didn't even play the online or georama...pathetic!) Did you just accuse us of not playing White Knight Chronicles online? Please don't lie. But really, I think you just all you needed to. WKC is essentially an SNES/PS1 era game with modern (though not state of the art) visuals. Perhaps you are fine playing the same game rehashed over and over again. Myself, I expect something more. And in light of awesome online features in an RPG like, say, Demon's Souls, to call WKC's online features "fresh" seems, well, I think that statement stands on its own, and needs no commentary.

In all seriousness, Tom couldn't have nailed it any better regarding Dante's Inferno. I finished the game last week, and the final third is so tedious, so devoid of fun and joy, so lazy and uninspired, that I was in shock. It's proof that ripping off a game wholesale doesn't mean you capture the magic. It starts off so well; such a shame.

Good thing I don't care what GS rates games anymore. The combined score of other sites is 7.7... that's not bad at all.

there is absolutely no one who thinks it should get a 9.0 the game was flat out awful it might have been a good $20 expansion like it should have been but then bunjie turned around and said its a stand alone game worthy of a $60 price tag

and now if gives this game a 6.5 now no one here has played it but i highly doubt it deserves a 6.5

and besides hes completely biased, all he did was compare every aspect of the game to GoW good god if he reviews GoW i'll go insane

I love when people are hyping games around here, and the game gets a bad score on this site. They'll, of course, say "they don't care what Gamespot thinks." When a game that they hyped scores really well on this site, they seem to be thrilled with the review.

It seems like they blew all their budget on the first 1/3 of the game, and had to make do with recycled material for the last 2/3s. If they planned it better it could have been a good game.

As for your statement regarding ODST, as it turns out, lots of people felt that game deserved a superb score, including IGN and 1UP. Tom's review reflected exactly what he thought, and he isn't some lone dude standing in the wilderness, clinging to his lonely 9.

I also wonder: What does "bias" mean to you? Or is this just the usual occasion where someone throws out the word to instill fear and loathing, without actually understanding what the word means and what it insinuates? What you mean is, "That reviewer did not evaluate the game exactly as I did, and therefore he is to be distrusted and ridiculed." You may be shocked to learn this, but when someone disagrees with you, it does not make their opinion worthless.

Also, I am someone here, and I HAVE played Dante's Inferno to completion.

meh, screw GS review, ill still pick up the game but when it comes down in price.. and what the hell was up with the guy who reviewed the game,.. i mean, i heard him say god of war more then dante's inferno in that review

You want good combat... play Ninja Gaiden I or II... or Bayonetta.... NOT God of War. WHen I played through GoW, the only thing that kept me going was the story progression. The combat is so bland, generic & repetitive.

good riddance to a tragic experiment involving an incredibly well respected piece of literature. this deserved to die and i'm glad it did.

I have to admit that i was wrong. I thought this game would do well, then the reviews started coming and i was proven wrong. Oh well, its just another game i wont be buying :)

I don't take site reviews seriously because they underrate my favorite games and overrate the games I don't like. Seriously, your opinion is factual to you only, it doesn't apply to anyone else.

I am pretty sure GS delayed their WKC review so they could actually test the online portion of the game, as the server just got set up a few days ago. Isn't it fun to spread lies around?
