Dark Souls 2!!

I love Demon's Souls and The Witcher 1. I have started Dark Souls and the Witcher 2 but don't really like them as much. Horrible combat controls in Witcher 2 and the world in Dark Souls 2 is too open for my taste. I liked the Nexus and the small levels. Sooner or later I will give them another go but all in all I think The Witcher is a more interesting franchise.nethernova
First time I played Dark Souls coming from Demon's Souls I felt the same way. Try and stick with it though, use walkthroughs if you really need to, once you get used to the general layout it gets a lot more fun. Then start a new character again when you know the basic map :)
Dark Souls II. From Software has actually brought something entirely new to the RPG genre and has people hooked, anticipating more.
Witcher 3 by far. It will be the better game.GuNsbl4ziN
Better production values? Maybe
Variety in RPG-esque mechanics? Nope. Not by a long shot. To put it simply...you have to use one particular character...with one particular face...with two particular type of weapons (no shields, no axes, no polearms)....with one particular type of armor (only chainmail, no plate armor)....with almost no option of backtracking. It's basically a 'go-where-we-tell-you', 'use-what-we-tell-you' and 'do-what-we-tell-you' kinda rpg. Exploration = 0
So it all boils down to what you consider to be a 'better game'. From a purely rpg-esque standpoint, Witcher games are rather restrictive.
Dark Souls II has a legit shot at GOAT status. Dialogue, NPCs and fetch quests are all well and good but I favour From's brand of "get out there to the poisonous swamp/sewer/undead castle/trap-ridden fortress and kill things many times your size. Have fun, prepare to die."Floppy_Jim
While GOAT may be steep (or not, I dunno), I certainly think it has a shot as Game of the Generation.

I still need to properly play Dark Souls :P I have it.
Can't it be both? :(

It's like the rite of passage of the Dark Souls. It's tough, but I believe in you Freedom! :P_Matt_I will , I will :P I've had it for over a year, and I haven't gotten rid of it, because I want to play it.
Have not played Witcher so Dark Souls 2.
Even tho I didn't find Demon Souls and Dark Souls all that hard >.>
Currently playing Dark souls and I love it, the only problem is the story.
The witcher games have a good story but the combat and the RPG elements are nowhere near as good as the souls games.
But I'm looking forward for both titles, so I choose both.

The story in dark souls is quite insteresting and really dark... though it's the type of game you have to dig around to find out or you can just search a video online about the story.
For example idk if you've heard from Asturas the abyss walker in the game, well supposedly he defeated the abyss and walke in it however the truth was he was possesed by the abyss and didn't make it.. the one that defeated the abyss was your own character by traveling to the pass... you're also the one that slays Asturas.
Now i would say TW3 not because i will enjoy it more or the game will be better, but because from software are stupid as fk and releasing DkS2 on current gen when all my current gen consoles will be sold by then...silversix_
wow brilliant logic there *rolls eyes*
