Try New Vegas.
If you're feeling old school you could try Fallout 1 & 2, both amazing games, they don't make them like that anymore.

Sorry to butt in here, but I feel compelled to say that if anyone wishes to try the older Fallout games after not playing that type of game around their release date, I would suggest watching paint dry instead. The excitement and fun factor increases ten fold.
I don't agree, i played them around 2007 for the first time and fell inlove. The atmosphere accentuated by the amazing soundtrack, the magnificient quality of the writting, the fantastic SPECIAL role playing mechanics, the excellent turn based combat and the pace mold the game into a brilliant experience.
I also recommend playing it in HD (with the help of the quality mods). Playing it in its original 640x480 resolution is sh*t.
I'm sure the writing and story were top notch and all(I only got a few hours into Fallout 1 before getting incredibly bored), and the games did capture the atmosphere of post apocalyptic wasteland more effectively than their current gen successors, but the gameplay...
Ugh. The gameplay. It's the same reason I could not get into Planescape, although I don't think they follow the same mechanics. So many games I've heard of having these incredible stories that I'd like to experience, yet the games bore me to tears. It's a shame. I've always preferred faster paced stuff, and the combat in Fallout took place at the pace of a newborn crawling across a carpet.
Edit: I bought the Fallout Collection disc with 1, 2, and Fallout Tactics, but could not get Fallout 2 and Tactics to run for some reason, despite seeking extensively to find a solution. I'm pretty bad at that sort of stuff pertaining to computers. So I guess I can only comment on Fallout 1.
