Cool. I'll use this argument for the console WW sales then.

That's a fallacy, same arguments don't apply to hardware since they're not an art medium an actual a technological one.

Why doesnt it?

LOL upset already. Relax homeboy I was just messing with you and the only one sounding stupid in here is you. I don't disagree with what you say but we all know if it was TLG selling more than DR then your tone would be completely different, we seen your track record in here to know better than that.

Track record smak records lol you just believe what you want as someone who only thinks in fanboy.

There is no reason for me to bash DR4 as It's not a game I'm interested in nor a game I particularly feel any hate toward. DR is not a top tier franchise and was never treated as an AAA blockbuster by MS so there would no reason for me to bust it's chops if TLG outsold it, maybe others would but not me.

The problem with you is you don't know how I think, you only think how you or other fanboys think thus you project your preconceived fanboyism onto me, that's not my problem it's yours. If DR was a high profile title and niche TLG out sold it then hell yea I'd xbox fans chops but it's not so I wouldn't. It's not as cut and dry as that with me as it might be with you.

Sry you don't like my response and feel you know how I think and will post in any situation but the thought process you have is not sufficient to predict what what I might think or post in any given situation. You won't know what I will post on any given thread until I post it but fanboys say amazing things and apparently have amazing Ms Cleo powers at their disposal as well. :P

LOL me liking or not liking your response is irrelevant cause I have no feelings for your response, like I said I was just messing with you so it doesn't bother me in the slightest. But tell the true, if TLG sold more, you would put up some here's another "flop" message?????????

Tell the truth!!

You know you can, come on now, let's be real

LOL.

I figured The Last Guardian would have done much better, even as a niche title. The hype for this game has been off the charts crazy for nearly 10 years back when it was supposed to be on the PS3. On top of that, the PS4 holds a 2:1 hardware advantage (based on some guesstimates here) which should have cemented the win. I believe it should have moved some consoles as well.

There is still plenty of time, and the game is awesome. I would love to see some PS Pro TLG bundles, or even a special edition PS4 skinned with TLG.

Lulz, 10 years of hype and racking up preorders gets demolished by a stripped down dead rising on a platform with a much smaller install base. Xbox Won

Many say that DR games are fun, but I haven't played any of them. I may jump in on this game to see what all the hype is about. It is good to see both games doing well in the UK after one week. Us gamers are the winnings.

Not sure if this is even supposed to be a surprise. It's a lot like comparing a Miyazaki movie to a summer horror film. It shouldn't surprise anyone that the musuou zombie shooter is outselling a nuanced puzzle adventure.

Sequel on two platforms versus a new ip.

An action game versus an artsy adventure game. Zombies versus boy with giant version of catdog. Pretty obvious what game was going to sell more. That said I'll take my chances with an Ueda game and just replay Dead Rising 1 when I'm in the mood for a Dead Rising fix. Since they took what was genuinely a great game, and then proceeded to take out everything that made it enjoyable and unique in the first place.

This isn't surprising, although TLG has had hype buildups and letdowns out the wazoo. I bought TLG, as I haven't played a Dead Rising since the first.

From what I heard this is nothing to brag about. The gap between the two is miniscule in the UK right now. Both games will probably break 1 million eventually.

Meh. IMO, Dead Rising games are not that great, there are better zombie games out there. State of Decay, Left for Dead for example. TLOU (whether you consider it zombie or not is up to you) and even the Zombie modes in Call of Duty are all more fun than Dead Rising. I imagine Days Gone will be better than Dead Rising as well. DR is just too goofy now.

Could probably be because Dead Rising 4 is the fourth game in a well known franchise and is also on multiple platforms while TLG is a successor to a 10 year old PS2 game that has been delayed multiple and is only on one platform.

The only place TLG had any real hype was gaming forums on the internet. It was always going to be a very niche title.

Even if I had a PS4, I'm not sure I would have bought Last Guardian unless it was dirt cheap. Its simply not the kind of game I care to play, and I never got into either of Team Ico's previous games when I had my PS2.

That said, I don't care about Dead Rising 4 either since I'm not a fan of anything with Zombies in it.

So...they both sold well?

Not sure if I see the problem here. Perhaps I need special glasses?

The Last Guardian is probably the farthest thing from a mainstream blockbuster as you can get and it's still selling well in one of the busiest months of the year as far a sales go, so I'm not sure how people are trying to spin TLG's placing as a bad thing it's not even a full month lol.

The fact that DR4 also sold well in the holiday months is good, it's a well known franchise on it's 4th installment with a pre-existing fanbase which seems to have served the game well for this outing.

The issue isn't that they both sold well, it's the fact that fanboys don't care if the other sells well, they want their precious console only game to be higher than the other, you know that LOL. Stop acting unbias now LOL.

Lmao

Casharmy tries to be not a fanboy is indeed hilarious :D

You both sound stupid to me here. Me giving my opinion = trying to sound unbiased/not a fanboy to fanboys with an agenda.

No matter what you two clowns think or what you want to believe this is my opinion, sorry if it's not the reaction you expect or want. My opinion is always just my opinion, everything does not revolve around fanboyism. It's idiots who only think in fanboy terms that can not separate the two and end up making bone head comments showing that their brain only works in one gear: REKT FANBOY.

lol guess I can't even make a comment without pent up aggression emotionally damaged xbot fanboys having a meltdown. I gave DR4 props as well as TLG but you desperate clowns still found something to cry about? Cool!

Please go on...tell me how you really feel. let the pain, trauma and butthurt all fall on me! You'll feel better about yourselves and perhaps stop acting like complete narrow minded idiots every time a Sony fan posts.

C'mon man, chill, i was kidding, of course it's your opinion and you're right.

Even in that case my first point stands. Dead Rising is a more known and popular franchise. Shadow of the Colossus was successful 10 years ago, but VGChartz is showing only about 1.12 million sold worldwide. Even with the PS3 re-release of the game, I doubt the game sold over 2.5 million over 10 years. That's successful enough on its own, but Dead Rising was a more popular game when it first launched and has had multiple sequels on multiple platforms. It's going to have a much larger fanbase than TLG would have.

This is the important part : which, we should point out, launched last Tuesday compared to The Last Guardian's Friday release - meaning it had another few days on sale).

But of course, you can't see here a reasonable discussion. LOL

I totally agree with you in regard to how main stream DR4 is. I still thought TLG would have done better after all these years. No matter, I got my copy and I am enjoying. I think if it sells 1-2 million, maybe would still get a sequel.

I can't say if I have seen an ad for the game on TV, but I haven't watched much TV lately.

I think the internet gives a skewed perspective of the actual popularity of a game series. All of the vocal fans online can make a game seem a lot more popular than it really is. At the same time I think the internet also makes popular game seem much more hated. Look at CoD. That sels insanely well each year even when the internet vocally hates it.

I think that's why it's a bit surprising for some that there is lower sales for TLG but there are also higher sales for Final Fantasy 15. At the same time, TLG is not getting nearly the advertising that Final Fantasy is getting.

@SolidTy: Sorry bro, not buying the "newish, niche up" crap. The gaming public knows what TLG is. Cows claimed E3 victory after the crowd exploded when seeing it in 2015. The dev trouble was also enough to make the title a first page talking point a plenty. It got plenty of exposure.

The game itself, in nature, is kinda niche ...it's not a game that everyone would be inclined to play... however, as you said, it got advertised well and the exposure was there

I'm not surprised in the least.

Niche title with cult following.

VS.

Hackneyed genre with gore and action.

Many of today's gamers don't have the patience to enjoy TLG let alone find it interesting enough from the trailers to enjoy. Hell... many of today's gamers were 0-5 years old when TLG started production.

But this was on Xbox only for sales.

I totally agree with you in regard to how main stream DR4 is. I still though TLG would have done better after all these years.

I am totally on board with that. I would add more, but I agree with everything you said.

Cows here full of the same BS excuses they always are.

Like I said in the other thread, cows always brag up exclusives as some huge factor, but the reality is the 50 million cow herd DOESN'T BUY THEM. Even a niche game should easily sell 1 million units with a 50+ million install base thats only 2-percent.

LOL at the 'high brow artsy game' vs 'low brow' argument. The majority of the PS4 base arent like the cows here living in a bubble thinking Japanese games move consoles. The truth is the the bulk of the herd are Bro gamers that mostly play CoD, BF, Madden, NBA2K and FIFA.

Sony couldnt even sell SFV to the PS base when it was huge on Xbox. Serves Capcom right for selling their soul for a jelly roll.

TLHBO SALTY TEARS BUTTHURT. blah blah Standard cow rebuttal.
