Aaron Greenberg talks just as much smack as Sony, and this article would have been much, MUCH more appropriate about 2 or 3 years ago. Sony still says some stupid things, but so does the other companies. Sony of 2006 =/= Sony of 2009.carljohnson3456
After 3 years of posting losses and being humbled , I agree Sony 2006 =/= Sony 2009...

Good to see we agree.[QUOTE="gmc2u_64"]

Isint this the same dude who bashed trophies. Yea I rather get kicked in the balls then read anything from this idiot. This man also makes me lose any respect for gaming journalist and makes me think a monkey could do a better job.
...dude that's WAY too harsh.Im sorry but thats how bad he is and how much i despise him. He has no journalistic talent. Hes just some idiot who got lucky. Then again theres viruses in ever job field so I guess he fits in some catogory.
im assuming that if he made a 100% positive review about everything sony does....even the bad stuff your whole outlook would be different. im also going to go out on a limb and assume that the ps3 is probably your only console. i dont know of any other reviews hes done so i cant really judge his overall calibre of journalism based of this alone but just in this review he certainly was brutaly honest and straightforward. im sure when/if he does a MS and/or nintendo review hell do the same. imo this review was definatly spot on. whether you agree with sonys PR tactics or not you have to agree that they have done some of the most terrible damage control in recent history. if you cannot take the fact tat your beloved coompany has made some poor judgment than maybe youre a bigger fanboy than you think you might be. and thats looking at every company (PSWII60)[QUOTE="dereknippl-e"][QUOTE="hyperboy152000"]
kind of like nintendo with the gamecube?
and the more competition the better and anyone who says X company needs to stop making consoles doesnt realize that actually helps all the other current consoles

Say what you will, at least Nintendo made money on the GC. And I think that, as sad as it may be for a company like Sony to die like Sega, it would make way for true innovators like Apple to get into the game.
You stated that its outstayed its welcome, so you wouldnt find it sad if Sony died. Sony isn't going anywhere. And nobody's stopping Apple from getting into gaming.I'm not saying I wouldn't be sad if they left. I'm just saying that it looks like, due to their horrid PR and reputation, they're going to eventually be pushed out of the business. I'd be singing a different tune if they had actually tried to change, but it doesn't really seem like they have.
Ah Sony... Jim didn't even touch the hardware aspects, like: A Blu-Ray drive ($70) and PowerDVD Ultra 9 ($63 upgrade ) = $133 makes any modern PC into a better Blu-Ray player than the PS3 - or you can get a $150 unit online and not have to mess with the PS3 or a PC.

The Cell... aka "the supercomputer on a chip" :P That was a good one Sony, really impressive, both because supercomputers are worthless as general purpose processors (aka what you actually need for gaming ) and because they supposedly strapped a "supercomputer" to 256mb of system memory... well done there.
-
Sony has been good times this generation - they've called developers lazy, ignored that they're in last place, lost more money on the PS3 than they made on the PS2 (ouch ) and destroyed their reputation with the general public (aka the people who buy consoles in the first place ).

I have no illusion - 95% of the world isn't me. 95% of the world will not spend $300 on a GPU, 95% of the world doesn't give a crap about having true 1080p home cinema, 95% of the world has *no idea* what lossless audio is, or what Sony's DRM is doing to them. And yet Sony seems to have ignored that 99.9% of the world that actually *buys most products* - and that's a business screw up you can never be forgiven for.

That is not true. It's not even true if you only regard hardware.
Yeah...that was a bad article. :|
Seriously, fanboy ranting about 3 year old stuff makes it nothing but flame bait. I guess I should go out and preach in the streets how Bill Clinton was wrong for having an affair and should be impeached.
The article addresses that: Sony says far, far more stupid things than Microsoft or Nintendo.[QUOTE="Danm_999"][QUOTE="hakanakumono"]
All 3 companies say stupid things; Sony is the only one who is really called on it.

No, Nintendo says far stupider things. Nintendo doesn't want competent online because "people get their feelings hurt." Nintendo also says that they have to "tease" their fans with hardcore games because "if we give them what they want they'll just want more."
MS, is well, cocky. But they're the least of the 3 evils.
I think the point is, Sony isn't in the place to talk sh*t about other companies, because it's not doing so good on sales (let's not bring out other crap like future prediction or fanboyish defense. Sony's sales is at the 3rd "right now", and that's a fact.)
Sony pretty much lost my respect for bashing on Nintendo's DS for being a kid's toy. Dude, this "kid's toy" you're talking about outsells you by... I don't even need to finish my sentence. So what does it say about your own product? I know I know, PSP is amazing, people just don't appreciate it. HA.
Seriously, instead of laughing at someone else, I think Sony has better things to focus on... for example, not losing.
The article was focused on a very recent event.Yeah...that was a bad article. :|
