Even after playing Gears and Bioshock, I was constantly in awe of just how brilliant Uncharted looked. Personally, I thought it had incredible textures and much more impressive environments than Gears.

Your right, this place would be boring. On the other hand, i played bioshock (beat), GEARS (on insane), Mass Effect (beat) and those games dont compare to the beutiful textured atmosphere and animations Uncharted gave me. Uncharted is on another level to me. i mean yea GEARS has great textures but it doesnt wow me like Uncharted does still. GEARS has robot stiff anumations.. drake has more animations then every character in GEARS combined. The detail in Uncharted is unmatched in console games. Naughty Dog are very good at developing on the PS3.

Uncharted breathes, Mas Effect, GEARS are stiff. Bioshock breathes some.

Why does Halo look nicer than Bioshock in those screens? because it doesn't on my tv :|.csliney

I'm saying that the screenshot is bad, not that halo looks bad there, I can't find an airborn shot that does halo the justice it deserves, I'm agreeing with you. That came out wrong and I apologize

So the facts aren't enough? Okay, my opinion. Yes Uncharted is better. In terms of graphics it has Awesome lighting effects, the shadows are amazing as well as the trees move in the wind the shadows move as well, the best character animation system ever, the best water effects I've seen, a very diverse game in terms of the textures used and environments you play in, and all in all probably one of the best action games I've ever played.

Me sorry and I can agree a bit, the pics do the game no justice when compared to actually being involved in these battles on line using a nice HD TV. :)

reasons why uncharted is better than gears.

360 fans there is more than textures that makes graphics.

gears better textures

uncharted better relistic animations, lighting, more colors, better emotions from caracters, wet cloths, ect.

i keep seeing the 360 fans say texture after texture even though every review says in uncharted every thing you see in the screen has texture working meaning no dark ares to hide the texture work.

in gears the texture work is great of what you see but alot of dark areas hide the rest of the stuff on the screen meaning what you see is what has great texture work. in drakes it was day time so they had nothing to hide the shady areas so that the texture work had to done to the intire screen.

In gears, when you are on the train it is Daytime, and it is GORGEOUS, as well as when you are underwater and the Imuslion is flowing everywhere the lighting is amazing as well. I don't think those reviewers spent enough time with Gears to know it's true depth. kind of like me and uncharted, but I still haven't seen anything impressive enought to say it's king. I just honestly don't, the trees and Drake look good. But the ground sucks, the fire sucks and it is hit or miss the entire game

And that may be so, just cause I don't have a ps3 anymore doesn't mean I can't see that MGS4 looks amazing, as long as people can get over uncharted I'm cool. Besides I've always liked the style of MGS games so I HOPE/WANT it to look amazing.

i think uncharted is not king, its to closely contested. mass efffect, gears, bioshock and mass effect are all in the mix.

I dont understand this consoler's (yeah its a new word what? :evil: ) seem to argue with graphics like its going to make it a better game or that its better looking than some PC games. (no need to mention Crysis, CoH and some others easily dethrone anything those underpowered "HD" consoles have to offer)

Uncharted wins but the idea that console should have a seperate comparison for graphics fails.

I honestly think UTIII didn't look all that special in comparision to gears, I own the PC version...and even still...I wasn't super impressed over what gears offered.

In motion, Uncharted looks the best. The motion blur is so amazing.

i have played it (on a 50" 1080p hdtv, no less) and while it has great graphics, i personally would take gears, and some parts of halo 3 over it. However, I am spoiled from playing Crysis too much, so graphics don't impact me as much anymore, but still.

this thread is pointless. everyone is basically just arguing over which artistic style they like better. "graphics" are an aboslute form based on various things such as lighting, textures, blur effects, motion, resolution, etc. graphics really aren't something you can argue about. what you people are arguing is what you think looks better and that is mainly based off of the art style. there is no "imo" when it comes to graphics. thats like saying 2 + 2 = 5 imo.Zero5000X
