Dethroning the Console Graphics King (56k genocide)

You are so wrong. I owned every one of those games on my 360 and you are so far off base on the graphics comparison. Soo my thoughts are:

if you honestly think that then you are a blatant fanboy. uncharted looks great because i love that jungle setting. Halo 3 graphics are also tight, but uncharted has the edge, and gears is too blandishly grey for my liking.

the difference is

Fanboys state Geow looks better than Uncharted = opinion (just a biased opinion)

Fanboys state Uncharted looks better than Geow = backed up opinion (since most if not all reviewers in the gaming industry all stated that Uncharted is the best looking game on consoles in their reviews)

gears and uncharted are definately at the top. its impossible to tell which one is technically superior without numbers and a list of facts about each. anyone have them? no? okay then really you can't argue which has better graphics. you can only argue what you think looks better and that is 100% subjective.

is this still going on? who cares which game has (maybe slightly better) graphics. Uncharted looks great, very detailed environments etc. but WHO CaRES! can't we just enjoy our games?

Uncharted wasn't that great of a game btw, way too short. It's getting way too much credit for graphics alone

I 100% agree, but unfortuntely the texture pop-ins and occaisional frame-rate drops hinder Mass Effect.

For my tastes and preference, console graphics are as follows, from best on down

Note: I am speaking only about my preferences, and not technical merit or anything, just how appealing and nice the game looks to me.

1) BioShock

2) Uncharted

BioShock and Uncharted are very close IMO, but I like the sty1e of BioShock more.

3) Ratchet & Clank Future

4) Gears of War

5) Viva Pinata

6) Ace Combat 6

Those are currently my top 6 most visually appealing console games that I have played this generation.

Wii games like SMG and Boom Blox have a certain stylistic flair, and they do look good, but I don't find them clean enough on my HDTV to include in the top 6, although they are certainly great looking games for what the Wii is capable of.

Just look at the ground textures and the sun lighting beaming on drake and the ground, that is impressive.

Also look at gears vs uncharted when taken off a camera screen comparison, both look great but uncharted from the bright colors and lighting and character model looks beautiful.

Just look at Uncharted indoors in the abandoned ship shot vs gears 2 outside. This shot shows u how much detail Naughty Dog put into Uncharted. If u havent played both games then of course u are going to say one is better then the other but I made these comparisons because I own both games and in my honest opinion uncharted looks better then gears 1 graphically. Is it better then 2? I cant say that because gears 2 isnt done yet and still has time to polish the game so ill wait until the final product before making any comparisons. Anyways here is a comparison of the early build of that gears 2 footage photo vs uncharted. (Note gears 2 isnt finished and still polishing game up and this is an indoor shot of uncharted vs gears 2 outside environment).

Already played Bioshock on my PC, and while the graphics were nice, but I didn't think, oh menz these graphics are insane!

I cant believe lems keep bringing this up. Its been polled time and time again even in GS, reviewers, web sites have said as well and Uncharted keeps beating everything on consoles. Whats wrong lems cant you just stay with we have more hardware sold? Uncharted has the best graphics period.

I just got a new HDTV, what is better: Component or HDMI? Not much real point asking as my X360 doesn't have a HDMI slot and can only do Component and I don't think there's a PS3 component cable so I'm using HDMI for PS3 and Component for X360.

Backup your statement then with better looking screenshots of gears then. Dont just say its opinion and u never played uncharted to even have a say in it. Most of these screen shots are from people who own both games. I can sit here all night and take pictures of gears of war running on my hdtv and still the results wont look as good as what we have displayed from uncharted.

Simple fact is gears of war 1 is a better all around game then uncharted but uncharted has better visuals. so whats the problem man, its not like anyone is saying uncharted is the better all around game we all know gears kicks a$$ gameplay wise and even if uncharted edges it in graphics it still doesnt mean uncharted is a better game.

Just look at the draw distance details from those screens. If those dont look amazing then u obviously are being blinded and not taking off the fanboy goggles to appreciate just how great uncharted looks. I think both games look fantastic but uncharted just looks better because the details u can see from the draw distance of these screen shots. Uncharted 2, wow I just cant think str8 just how crazy that game will look if uncharted 1 looks this awesome. Even naughty dog said that they just scratched the surface with what uncharted was able to do with there engine and said they can take it up even further with there next IP.
