what did i tell you cows NEVER TRUST CAPCOM WITH EXCLSIVES

remeber this ?

X_CAPCOM_X

Very much so,the best game on Gamecube by far. Capcom need the money,so it's understandable. The blow to Sony will be about 1-2 million games sold(DMC4),this isnt much considering you already have games such as Oblivion on 360 doing those numbers. The real blow to Sony would be if MS bought Take-2,there,Sony would lose close to 8 games...But MS arent going to bid for it,so everything's fine right now.

RE4 was an agreement that ended.

No it wasnt it didnt sell as much as capcom wanted

so they went back on there word and anncoued it

Fear not,DMC has sold only 7 million units(Total of all sales on Ps2),this is not an astounding amount of sales as one may believe(Considering alot of other game franchises outsold this game). Playstation 3 is fine :)

will sell 4 million copies on 360 alone. confirmed

you seem to forget that 360 owners EAT Capcom games. Lost Planet much? Dead Rising has hit around 2 million and thats an unknown IP. What do you think DMC is gonna do? Ditto Lost Planet

They lost millions with Lost Planet and other games, they have to make it up somehow... But,as good news as this may be to supporters of other systems, let's not forget how poorly DMC2 did...

Lost Planet sold about 1 million units within weeks of its release in NA and Europe. Capcom did not lose money on it.

$1 Million x let's say $50 is how much $50 Million. I doubt they lost "millions" lol

By trying to make a profit? Or by not helping Sony sell more Blu-Ray players?

By destroying their reputation for solid console support with ongoing titles that we all love. No more mixup capcom. No more fanboyism from people like you either. When it was only on the PS2, people like you hated it. But now you love it don't you?

So they're fanboys by making multiplats instead of exclusives?

I don't really understand.

I was speaking to him, about him. Not capcom. Not you.

And I also don't quite get how, by making multiplats, Capcom undermines its own ability to support other consoles. Besides, if porting titles undermined platform support, then Capcom would have already gone 'very low' when they ported Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7, and RE4 from the Gamecube to the PS2.

Capcom has been making money hand over fist on the 360

Street Fighter II HF
Dead Rising
Lost Planet

All sold very well.

They broke even worse case scenario and if you say the game worldwide costs $50 then they made $10 Million and the game has not even been out for half a year yet really...

And you say "and other games" then why show that article that means nothing to what I'm saying cause 1 Million copies sold so far mind you, means they are in profit

No they didn't lose millions with Lost Planet. They are making money. Lost Planet and Dead Rising are some of the most successful games on 360. Now you revert to damage control mentioning DMC2.....you know why I call it damage control, you cows wouldn't let lemmings say something about DMC like that days ago

why is this ownage? DMC won't even sell on 360, it already has ninja gaiden. But did ninja gaiden sell well anyways? (not sure here). DMC appeals to hardcore gamers, and im my opinion, most casuals are 360 gamers.

Hmm... well over 1 million units in January alone... $60 a game...

Seems to me like they made over $40 million, thereby earning more money than they spent, and, as a result, not losing any money, in sum, making the game and selling it.

They don't kill support for consoles in general. They destroy certain series reputations, like RE4. People constantly argue about which version is better, which is ridiculous. The Gamecube titles by Capcom were an agreement between the two companies. The agreement either ended or the sales didn't go too well and they switched it, which still makes me angry. People even argue about viewtiful joe. Why doesn't capcom just leave Lost planet and Dead Rising on the 360, and make DMC on the PS3?

Learn to read buddy. Capcom invested 40 million to make and market Lost Planet. It's an invesment. You need money to make things, it's how the business world works. You spend money and make something, then sell enough to turn a profit and cover your initial loss. Just read the title of the article.

DUDE READ THIS FOR A SECOND.
How did they loose money on LP when they sold 1 Million copies and made around $50 Million if not more?
They are in profit now? What part about that do you not get? the money they put into the budget and P & A has been recouped and they are in the profit now

The article says that they spent $40 million. Twenty million to make the game, and twenty million to market it.

If Capcom then goes on to make, say, $60 million from sales of the game, they didn't lose anything.

you seem to forget that 360 owners EAT Capcom games. Lost Planet much? Dead Rising has hit around 2 million and thats an unknown IP. What do you think DMC is gonna do? Ditto Lost Planet

The amount it will sell will look something like this:1.9 million on Ps3,1.3 million on 360,and 790,000 on Pc. DMC wont be as big a seller as it was, trust me.

So I guess your Sony fanboy friends were all wrong when they said DMC was a big game on Sony's before cause now people are saying it will sell like shyte apparently because the 360 and PC is getting it lol
Sad

I've only played DMC3(Never had much interest in the previous ones),and honestly,it's not that good of a game(Picture Resident Evil:Code Veronica but with more flexibility). DMC will sell no doubt, but it wont be a major factor this gen.

that joystiq article used the word "lost" quite loosely. They SPENT $40 million total. They made that back AND THEN SOME. Also dualshock, DMC is NEW to Xbox owners, the game will be eaten alive.

Fear not,DMC has sold only 7 million units(Total of all sales on Ps2),this is not an astounding amount of sales as one may believe(Considering alot of other game franchises outsold this game). Playstation 3 is fine :)

Actually it has the potential to sell by far more copies on the 360 than PS3. I guess Capcom realized that if they make quality games for a MS console, it will actually sell, not the crap they made on Xbox. LP and DR sold better than Capcom had expected. And if they advertise DMC4 well enough, trust me, DMC4 will sell better than both of them.

Lost Planet sold about 1 million units within weeks of its release in NA and Europe. Capcom did not lose money on it.

Owned Kindly admit ownage

Thats how much it cost to make it.... Not how much Capcom lost from selling it.
You need to brush up on your reading skills...

Where did I say Capcom lost money from selling it? I said they lost money, which they did. From marketing and development. C'mon now, let's not argue over nothing :)

The bottom line is they made a huge profit off the game... is doesn't matter how much they spent to get there, only what the end result was...

No kid, Capcom lost money on games like Okami, which didn't even sell 200k copies.

Capcom has been making money hand over fist on the 360

Street Fighter II HF
Dead Rising
Lost Planet

All sold very well.

Hi You were saying something about them not losing money?

It says they made it back. Read.

DUDE READ THIS FOR A SECOND.
How did they loose money on LP when they sold 1 Million copies and made around $50 Million if not more?
They are in profit now? What part about that do you not get? the money they put into the budget and P & A has been recouped and they are in the profit now

Here's an example:I lose 100 dollars at a party, then the next day I find 101 dollars. My 100 dollars is still lost correct? That is what I was saying.

Hi You were saying something about them not losing money?

Learn to read buddy. Capcom invested 40 million to make and market Lost Planet. It's an invesment. You need money to make things, it's how the business world works. You spend money and make something, then sell enough to turn a profit and cover your initial loss. Just read the title of the article.

How much does the article state they lost? That's all i'm asking for...

The article says that they spent $40 million. Twenty million to make the game, and twenty million to market it.

If Capcom then goes on to make, say, $60 million from sales of the game, they didn't lose anything.

the article says they lost $40 million to find SUCCESS, they have now turned a profit and the game, the title is misleading, it should say "Capcom spends $40 million to find success" because they are no longer losing money from lost planet.

Yup, it will be. LP and DR sold very well, for new IP's and they are very good games. Their problem with the Xbox was that they made their "experimental" games on it, which ended up being crap or something you won't want to buy (Steel Battalion). Now if they advertise DMC4 well, it can be one of the best selling games on 360. I guess they see dev'ing for PS3 only is not really a good idea for them right now. They have experience with the 360, and it is easier to dev for. They have an installed base on 360 this gen, and lemmings will eat up a good action game. And there are more 360's out than PS3's.

Capcom is now EA Japan. They went from Megaman and SF games that we all loved, to multiplat mix-ups.

I deal with investors in the film industry so I deal with budgets and P&A all the freaking time dude.
Do you know what recoupments means? Do you know what investors do for example?

Like for a film they put $200 Million for titanic for the budget, let's say $100 worldwide for P & A (prints and advertising or marketing you can call it) the movie went on to make at the box office alone around $1.6 Billion dollars. After paying off the budget, P&A and distribution costs they made around a Billion or so. No money is lost.

Money is only lost if titantic let's say only made $250 Million at the box office, that would be a loss (at the box office) Do you get it?

Just went to www.capcom.co.jp and DMC4 is still only on the ps3 and till that changes all this talk about a pc and 360 version is bullocks.LordoverFeind
It's ok, denial is a natural first responce to the loss of a loved one. Expect feelings of Anger, "I nvr liked dmc anydamway." Guilt, "mebee I shouldn't have griped about dmc2 so much." then finally acceptance, "they still don't have FFXIII so there!" Don't forget, people find sandwiches comforting during berevement.

Lost Planet and Dead Rising were smashing successes. If they failed, Capcom would be making games for the Wii.
