Devs may start CANCELLING PS3 titles? OH SNAP.

If people wait to buy the PS3 then its only gonna make devs that much more hesitant to develop a game ONLY for the PS3 or for the PS3 at all, so what needs to happen is Playstation fans need to go out and buy the system even if there are no games for it now, show the devs that there is a user base for the PS3! Otherwise devs are going to make games for the system that has gamers playing the system.They are not goint to spend a ton of money on a game for a small user base.

Not to sound harsh but gaming is not much different from any other business and developers need to make money to keep going. The sad thing is gamers want to play games and are not going to spend a ton of money on something if there isn't many games on the platform. 

Sony is in a tough situation...but it is like most are saying to early to tell.  

You would think that since the PS2 sold over a 100 million there should be PS3s flying off the shelves, either sony fans are waiting or they jumped ship.

It would be ironic if the PS2 was the console that killed the PS3 because everyone was already satisfied with their PS2.

How many do Wii and 360 have?

i dont know about wii because nintendo never announced how many but 360 is at 200 but sony shipped twice as many dev kits as ms so...

The PS3 is a great machine. People need to realize this because the gaming experience on it will be very great if people would just support it. It's sad how many people are lured to MS. casey7672

Co-sign..The PS3 is expensive, but...worth it and I just got a psp from a fella for 100.00 and let me tell you those two are perfect harmony...devs need to get on the ball

not totally true. Of the 30 or so PS3 games out on the market today, only ONE GAME (Resistance) has eclipsed 1 million in copies sold worldwide (1.02 million last I saw). PS3 owners simply aren't buying games enough to make devs feel comfortable, and I don't blame them. One flop game this generation will put many dev houses out of business.

meanwhile, the 360 has like 15 million+ selling games.

Devs who make the same game on the PS3 and port it to the Wii have found failure like Call of Duty and Need for Speed and so far from what I have seen Call of Duty 4 excludes the Wii. FFXIII has the potential to drive the PS3 to GameCube levels of success in Japan. That's basically it - the entire PS3 library of software has been outsold by one title: Wii Sports.

Wii is the one relevant home console in Japan. The sooner you accept that, the happier you'll be.

1. Wii Sports isn't bundled in Japan, and as standalone software has outsold the entirety of the PS3 library in Japan.

2. By the time FFXII drops, it could move 2 million consoles in five days and it wouldn't be even close to enough to compete with the Wii.

And I thought Sony gave 'special treatment' to those developers who were 'loyal' to their platform.  If it wasn't money given then I wonder what.

Its sad oh stop. People are lured to the 360 not because of MS they like and are interested in the 360 because it just has a great line up of games out and coming not to mention xbl.Get out of here with that lame crap.

1. This guy always came off as a PlayStation fanboy. Back in November, I distinctly remember him writing about how Resistance put Gears of War to shame and how Genji looked graphically better than Gears. He's not an anti-Playstation guy.

I dont see how it can  "fail", I dont believe Sony has any intention on giving up on the playstation franchise. The system is supposed to last 8 or 9 years, and in that time span games will come
