DICE: Console gamers have no idea How pc is capable of

There was thread the other day about how BF3 looks the same on console and PC gamers are liars and in denial.... Now a Dev who actually knows about programming games speaks the truth and now its:

PC gamers just care about graphics.

PC just make threads about crysis lol....

And that's just the 1st page i read, i bet my house the other 5 pages are of the same crap.

i actually find it pretty hard to find people outisde these kind of forums that know how much a modern PC can outperform a console , also all of them have iMacs so it doesn't surprise me that they don't know it too. :P

I believe we're mainly talking about your average human being having no reason to doubt fx a 360 game when it says 1080p on the back of the box.

To non enthusiasts, a term like "native resolution" might as well be derived from an alien language.

In the case of die hard hard fans, there's a lot of denial involved of course, but for most consumers it's just the plain old combo of lacking in depth knowledge and clever use of feature advertising. Technical half-truths are extremely effective when directed at users of a device, the main feature of which is being accessable, afterall.

Better technology doesn't equal better games. The original Xbox was technically superior to the ps2, just not in the game department. Despite pc's being more powerful than consoles, fact remains there are more consoles games that gamers want to play.

I can say the same thing about pc gaming, that the vast majority play mmos. As for games other than shooters...DC Universe? Demon's Souls? Little Big Planet? ModNation Racers? Dead Nation? Mortal Kombat? There are plenty of other online games consoles have that aren't shooters, but you're gonna argue they don't matter because of your predetermined user count, right? Just like what pc gamers say about mods...they have the option to use them. Same with consoles. There is an option to play online games that aren't shooters.

LBP 2 gets a ton of gamers daily. And the only genres other than shooters that are populated on PC are strategy/MMOs, and since there are barely any of those on console, how do you know that console gamers WOULDN'T like to play those games? Also, most genres other than shooters don't even have an online mode, so I don't know what you're talking about.

mainly due to the fact they are going after cod...the only way to do that is to take it to the console front now

but for a few weeks ive been wondering about BF3 possibly flopping on consoles just due to the fact dice hasnt said anything really comfronting.....the last thing they said was that the ps3 version was doing good...that was months ago.

all im saying is, when i play the demo in sept ill probably make the decision off of there..even if it is an "early build"

Yeah, I just googled it.. Is that thing really 100$? You can have something like a GTX260 for that, not that I'd be satisfied with something like a 260 either ;)

First thing is this. You guys act like this forum is representive of the actual average everyday video game consumer.

The average gamer doesn't know CRAP about a gaming PC let alone the workings of a PC in general. A gamer who games on PC is automatically more intellgient towards gamign then a person who doesn't game on PC. A console gamer "ISN'T REQUIRED" to have a working knowledge of things like a PC gamer "NEEDS TO HAVE"

Now if you needed to understand consoles in the future then fine but as it stands now that is not the case. You're talking about the difference of a guy who drives cars competitively and needs to know the inner workings and designs of them compared to a person driving to and from work.
