That is not news though.

Welcome the real world.
I suppose when you buy a PSP (which was sold at a loss I believe) and wonder why the games line up isn't very good, perhaps you'd then realise the money that comes from charging a profit per unit can actually be used to, ya know MAKE games.
Sony is stupid for taking a loss. Any other business would have a total make over of a product division losing so much money.
You think if Sony had charged even more profit for a PSP we'd have gotten better 1st party games then copy and paste PS2 games? Not 4 Socoms, Countless Ratchets, and an ungodly amount of Buzz related games. Maybe more Patapon-esque games? More unique titles?
Why is it so bad to charge a profit? Is everyone on the internet under the impression that thats not how the real world works? Sony is taking a huge gamble that ultimately can effect the Vita buyer because if consumers don't buy as much software as they hope they won't have enough $ to make the games you guys want, especially since there will be no profit from the hardware itself.
Also, I'd like to point out you're paying $250 for a Vita in 2011 that has no internal storage. You have to buy a Sony designed memory card, which will have higher prices than the widely accepted SD card standard (which btw Nintendo uses, and gives you a free 2GB card as well as the 2GB inside the 3DS itself) to use anything on the device. Meaning be prepared to pay $40 for a 4GB Sony Memory Card when 4GB SD cards are $6. I'm pretty sure they cut out the storage for the Vita, which isn't to cut costs, it's to add costs to the consumer because they are using that to force their memory card on you.
Sony is pushing their other products on you and charging a lot as well. Just like they did with BluRay, UMD, Memory Stick Duo, etc.
Additionally, if X game console is $250 and has much more A/AA/AAA games than Y console which is also $250, inevitably no matter what other factors X console is going to be a better value.
Bunch of nonsense.... Anyway back to topic... NO Nintendo did not. Nintendo easily had the worst conference as last year, but Atlus and a really heavy price cut might convince me... Worst conference?! Trolololol. :lol:If I hadn't already had one it certainly would have made me want one more. A portable Super Smash Bros. and Luigi's Mansion 2 were great announcements! A Super Smash Bros. alone could have been a console seller for me. It certainly made me want the Wii more than any of the other Wii games.
I was already so sold on the 3DS, though. They pretty much just blew my mind with even more awesome titles that I'll have to get. o_O
I didn't really need convincing, I've planned to get one I just need some of the more upcoming games to come out first.
The Playstation Vita looks good too but I'll probably wait for a price drop on that one down the line.
1) Then I guess the VITA costs too much, eh? 2) That is not true. I have been playing with 3d on for about 40 minutes, and no dizziness. Don't let those people with weak eyes fool you 3) Your problem 4) They're affordable 5) It is 6) Use your DS/GBA unless you want to increase the price and make it bulkier 7) You bought a handheld for movies? Good job. PS Vita's screen is still small 8) WAY better 9) So? Doesn't stop games from being good. Putting another analogue stick will elminiate the touch screen. The Touch screen functions as a second analogue stickThere was nothing they could do to get me to want one.
here is the reasons I don't want one.
1. Cost too much (Wi-Fi only version of Vita is same price).
2. 3D has too many issues like having to hold at a certain distance, headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, ect.
3. No games that interest me.
4. Nintendo takes FOREVER to drop prices on both their hardware and software.
5. Isn't much better than the PSP.
6. Won't play GBA games.
7. No movie playback.
8. Online isn't much better than the DS online and we all know how bad that sucks.
9. Only 1 analog stick.

Noo, all they showed was mario kart with underwater segments(lol people got excited over that) and remake of zelda and starfox and metal gear solid, on rail shooter kid icarus (lol on rails) and a game based entirely on a mode from re5 that capcom is selling for 40$ lol WUT.ZippySlappy1) Ya, its JUST MK with underwater segments, right? 2) Remakes of some of the best games ever made, nothing wrong 3) Did you play Kid Icarus? 4) A small mode expanded into a full-fledged game -_-
Was already planning to get one for games like:
Resident Evil; Revelations
Fantasy Life
Time Travelers
Beyond the Labyrinth
E3 added Luigi's Mansion 2 to that list
But I ain't buying one until a Lite version comes out.

1. No it is actually worth the money. I don't mean I can't afford the 3DS. I mean it isn't worth the asking prices. See the difference now? ;)
2. It is true. There are many many post all over the net about it. Stop being in denial. I never said it happens to everybody. You are one of the lucky ones. And holding it a certain distance applies to everybody.
3. Yes it is my problem. And your point would be? It is also Nintendo's problem if they want my money.
4. Again, money isn't the issue. It's just that they aren't worth it. I wait for price drops and Nintendo rarely gives them.
5. Yes it is, just not by much, which is what I said.
6. I don't want to carry two handhelds everywhere I go just to play GBA games. I will just stick to my DS.
7. Yes I will be buying it for movie. I will also be buying it for games, music, and surfing the web. Is that so hard to grasp?
8. Nope, it isn't much better at all. Still have to use friend codes, which sucks.
9. I prefer both a second analog stick AND a touch screen. Guess which handheld fits that bill? ;)
[QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"]. God watching movies on the 3DS is going to suck. The screen is just way too small for that. KBFloYd
vita screen is small too. both will suck...but then 3ds will have 3d mvoies too..so..
Vita screen is bigger and a higher res, so it sucks less. As for 3D movies. WellA. I couldn't care less.
B. My HTC Evo 3D will take care of that and actually allow me to play those 3D movies on my TV.

1) Dude, its just $250 2) Why deny it when people can make up stuff like that??? 3) Oh, ya, we should make a game called, "Diablo 3DS" for you to like it -_- 4) I wouldn't drop the price drop if my thing sells 5) Still 6) Same applies to PSP. You have to carry that AND the Vita. 7) Its a freakin GAMING handheld, and Nintendo is a videogame company, not a multimedia one. 8) That is only ONE (ONE) friend code. Its like using a mobile phone number :S , big freakin deal 9) 3DS touch screen functionality =/= Vita touch screen functionality. Vita will have smears and fingerprints on your gaming screen because of that ;) )[QUOTE="KBFloYd"]

And you're gonna have to carry around your PSVita and your HTC Evo 3D just to watch 3D movies on the go and on your TV. Really, you're gonna have to carry around a PSP, a PSV and an HTC Evo 3D so you can play PSP games as well. Really, do you care about GBA games that much? They're two generations old. Would you expect Nintendo include compatibility? Why doesn't the PS3 play PS1 and PS2 games? It would even be easier for Sony to include that because they're all disc based. Nintendo handhelds all use different cartridges. Please Log In to post.
