30FPS confirmed. They need to optimize heavily. Consoles are stuck at 30FPS.

Ewwhhaa... Nasty.
Sub 30 FPS too.
I don't know how any lem can deny that there is a huge power gap now. An open-world game with crap graphics running at 15 FPS vs. a fast-paced, open-world game with destructability at 60 FPS.

God hermits are such morons, you honestly expect launch titles to look outstanding and run smooth? They spend 3 quaters of there dev time on incomplete hardware. The 360 hard problems running quake 4 at 30fps and the game looks like complete trash compared to other 360 titles by todays standards.

I think its pretty unreasonable that developers can't get a decent framerate on set hardware. It hints towards the fact that the hardware isn't as great as people were originally thinking. Both consoles are running mid range AMD HD 7000 series GPUs. The Xbox One's equivalent GPU is an AMD HD7770 which gets beaten in benchmarks by the Nvidia GTX 480 from 2010. I remember a couple of months back EA was touting that next generation consoles were a full generation a head of gaming PCs, it seems its the other way around. The difference isn't going to be as huge as people think it is going to be especially if you've been gaming on PC. I haven't seen anything in the launch line ups of either consoles that couldn't have been done in the past two years on PC.
**bunch of useless information**
Ā
Well I guess the Xbox One is the greatest piece of hardware ever created, howĀ convenientĀ for you.Ā

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]What a fvcking joke. 60 fps MINIMUM should be standard for this gen.edidili
I saw that coming. They will always choose shiny graphics over 60fps because it makes for cool looking screenshots.
Shiny graphics is certainly not the case for this game tho so what's up with having piss poor graphics AND running waaaay under 60fps... Wasn't Crapcom developing a new engine seen in Deep Down, where is THAT thing!?Anyone here ever think why PC's have not went full swing into DDR5 yet? Its obvious why and its going to show on the PS4.urbansysYou serious?
1) It's GDDR5, not DDR5, G stands for graphics, DDR5 doesn't exist yet.Ā
2) Because it's for graphics it's only used in GPUs.Ā
3) Literally every GPU released in the last few years uses GDDR5 so it is in full swing.Ā
4) The next step up from DDR3 for main use is DDR4, not GDDR5.
What are you talking about? DDR5 isn't on ps4/One or pc... GDDR5 is on pc and now on ps4. What does Dead Rising 3 which is a One exclusive have to do with *GDDR5? One uses old ass DDR3 lmaoThats because it can not be utalized properyl yet. DDR5 has been around for a while now on graphic cards but not for mainboard memory and no indication that Intel or AMD plan on trying to.

Maybe the big number of zombies on screen is giving a blow to performance? I don't know.
Again anyone expecting 1080p/60fps being the norm will be dissapointed. It doesn't matter how much powerful the new consoles are. The more powerful it is the more they'll push for shiny graphics. They can easily make their games 1080p/60fps by lowering the graphics a bit. They could easily do it with PS3/360 too. They could do it but it is a trade off they have to make. they have to get rid of something else.
For example CoD devs decided 60fps was a must for a mp game and they were right however a lot of gamers said CoD doesn't look that good compared to BF lets say. The same devs are sticking with 60fps no matter what with Titanfall and so are Forza devs.
On PC it is different because developers target a certain average build and a lot of people buy a better than average PC so they can get higher fps if they invest the money. On consoles it's the developers call on what's most important.

dude, GDDR5. not DDR5. they aren't the same
Yes your correct i missed that. But my point is they have not attempted to make DDR sticks because of the higher latency that GDDR has showed on graphics cards. maybe in the future they can manufacture smaller nodes, we will see DDR sticks used in PC systems. That time is obviously not here yet.

do you have any idea what you're talking about? Ā DDR RAM sticks are already used as system RAM. GDDR is used in GPUs. PCs have both

Would be nice for a PC port.
Get some graphics mods and what not. Pimp it out 60 FPS.
It turns out that all this GDDR5 hype was nothing more than $ony spinning the cows another yarn :?

8GB is hype... But GDDR5 is not hype. It's made for graphics rendering.
This got me thinking. Is the standard of a typical consolite that low? Why are developers pushing the graphics so much that PS4 begins to struggle? Didn't they realise that what they are working on is a console rather than PC?
They really should tone down the graphics. Performance is very important, and they don't seem to realise that.

I think they are so used to the old consoles.... That they forgot to program for simple architecture like a PC. They rely on PC brute force to get the job done. But they can't do that for these consoles. They are to weak.

You literally have no idea wtf you're talking about do you? Ā DDR sticks already exist (they have been for decades), it's called "ram/memory". Ā They are "sticks" you allocate on your pc's motherboard. Ā Currently the standard memory is DDR3, as there is no DDR4 yet, let alone DDR5. Ā GDDR5 is the standard for gpu's. Ā I have a feeling you still have no idea what I am talking about and you will reply by saying something stupid again that clearly shows you don't know the difference between DDR and GDDR. Ā If you weren't such a dumbass you would know that GDDR6 is already on the horizon set to come out for PC next year in 2014. Ā Please, just stop talking, as you are clueless when it comes to pc terms, you're way behind in your knowledge tech/hardware wise, on top of not knowing how it works. Ā Lemme guess, you think you became an instant ram expert after you read too many bullshit GDDR5 sony articles didnt you?

PC >>>>>>>>>> Next Gen Consoles
Wait for the games to launched to compare them... there is no point in comparing unfinished unoptimized games running on nonfinal hardware.
Final PS4 devkits are only being sent to devs in July/August, for all we know ps4 games shown so far had 4gb of ram as a target. Not sure when final X1 devkits are being sent, but im sure it will be around the same time.
Holy shit the pics of these "next gen" games looks terrible. I thought they looked better in motion and was assuming they'd look better not covered in crappy YouTube quality but these direct feed shots look far worse than last gen PC games.BPoole96
Well, it's not like you could've expected anything else, these "next gen" games are running on mid-range PC hardware, any high-end PC will make short work out of them.
Consolites may go screaming about "efficiency and console optimization", but that doesn't happen immediately, devs need time to get that comfortable with the console hardware, and by the time they're using consoles to their full potential, the PC will pull far ahead...
When put this way it makes sense.Wait for the games to launched to compare them... there is no point in comparing unfinished unoptimized games running on nonfinal hardware.

It would be hilarious if XBoxOne and PS4 versions of multiplats turn out pretty much identical in graphics, bar a lower resolution and framerate for the XBoxOne. Cows would suddenly start giving huge importance to resolution and framerate and quickly forget they used to dismiss all that when comparing to PC.

GDDR5 is a QDR (quad data rate) version of DDR3 (double data rate).[QUOTE="o0squishy0o"][QUOTE="Malta_1980"]Care to show any console game that has shown poor performance 25fps to 60fps? because I would bet a lot of money on the fact that it will not happen. Optimisation can happen but from my memory of the past few years, the only thing that ever really gets better in terms of performance are PC games with driver updates and custom configs. True, console optimization usually involves cutting out or lowering settings. Also lets keep in mind that the GPUs in both consoles aren't new, there tech has been out for a while, so its not like the Cell where you have completely new architecture. HD7000 series has been out since 2012, and the hd6000 before that, so there is nothing new to learn. HD 7730 and above doesn't use HD 6000's VLIW stream processor design. These Games still have months till release and will get optimized so I'm not worried about performance... its good though these games were running on actual PS4 hardware !!
muscleserge
PS4 has slightly superior hardware compared X1, but Sony's existing knowledgebase was mostly targeted for IBM CELL and NVIDIA RSX. Turn10's existing knowledgebase mostly targets AMD GPU.This is just proof that PS4 is inferior like I've always said.

I gotta say, this is one of the funniest threads in awhile. Ā The damage control in here is magnificent!
