Do people that hate GOW3 Hate because...

It's an epic game that only people with PS3's can enjoy? I mean really, there is nothing that this game did not deliver on. It did what it set out to do and did it well. Yet I've seen threads basically saying if "X" game got flack then GOW3 wil get flack too! and picking low review scores from other sites and somehow claiming ownage.

Really guys let's be a bit seriious here.

People are just mad that its yet another great PS3 exclusive so they automatically hate on it. We will see the same thing from the PS3 side when Alan Wake and Halo Reach come out as well

played god of war 1/2 but did not like them much, i dont go around bashing the series but it is far from the be all end all that some cows around here would have you believe surrealnumber5

Some (can't stress that word enough) people like to think that if a game is exclusive on a system they do not own it automatically means that the developer is trying to tick off or annoy the other platform owners. If someone wants to play an exclusive game on a platform, they either need to buy one, borrow one, or stop complaining. This usually applies to most exclusive games.

To be fair, hate is too strong a word to use. There are some legitimate people that do not like GoW; not because they see it as a bad game, but because it does not interest them or it is not their cup of tea.

It's fine if you don't like it if you played it or just don't like the genre. But it seems some go the extra mile and bash anything they can about a game that's not on their system.

I would say it's combination of it being exclusive. And also because it's the third game in the series, nine hours long and not a lot has changed a part of the visuals.

The God of War series are games that are almost impossible to hate. Hell, I think just about every lem in SW would love to play GoW III if given the chance, just don't expect them to admit it here. The only people I could see truely "hating" them are people who just arn't fans of the genra, and religious/uptight people (ya know, for the violence and sex).

Some people just are not fans of this series, period.
I own a ps3 and love it but Im not super huge on this series. GOW3 is a good game but its not the best ever or my favorite of this year. Still very good though imo.

this isnt a hack and slash, its more of a button masher then anything. a good one at that.

It's definitly not a hack n slash or a button masher on the higher difficulties. Playing it on Chaos mode is about as challenging as anything DMC or Ninja Gaiden has to offer.

it certainly is a button masher, sure there are combos but when it comes down to it, its a button masher, which im fine with to be honest.

God Of War isn't even close to being my favorite series... but the games are fun... and God of War 3 has some great moments / set pieces. Also Rip Torn doing voice acting is GREAT!

I kinda hate Kratos though, he's so far off the "I'm crazy and wanna gut you meter" that I just can't connect with him as a character. Oh well.

Or, they could just not like it? Personally I found it meh. About the same as Dante's Inferno. I really can't see 3.5 points of differance between the two. They last the same amount of time, GoW seems a bit slower combat wise and though it has a few more weapons I really only used the 1 melee and 1 ranged in both.Both have the same problematic camera system, animations seem smooth in both. The only realy quality issue I had in either was falling through the water boss on GoW, and a few times when it wouldn't seem to want to double jump or open chests.

GoW seemed to have a more simplifited design, I never looked at a guide and missed just 1 minituar horn and 2 godly weapons. Dante hid it's powerups a lot better. I really didn't like the location of the QTE prompts in GoW, too far to the site of the screen makes them hard to see. Neither was a bad game, I finished both in one sitting, but I have no desire to play either again. It was a good little break from FFXIII but I'm glad I bought one and only rented the other.

The worst part about that was that he said they both looked the same graphically. Yeah, Dante's Inferno looks about as good to GoW III as Killzone 2 does to Crysis.

They do look the same, dark violent and brooding with blood everywhere. KZ2 is a lot heavier and darker then Crysis is. Crysis looks more airy and open.

On Topic, I don't hate GoW 3, I just dislike it. I played Chains of Olympus and I could never finish it because I didn't find it to be all that exciting, so I expected the same from GoW 3.

I gave GoW a 7, just as I did Dante. Not sure where you got 1 from. And Big Rigs deserves that 10 :) No I didn't find every single item, I don't feel bad about that. And yes I would rather have the QTE prompts in the middle of the screen so I can see them while I am in action. On the edge I have to look away from the action to see them, perhaps if I had a smaller display I wouldn't need to look to the side to see them.

What's wrong with calling weapons by their type? Yes I could have said "I really only used the Blades/Scythe and Cross/Bow but I had figured that people would understand those terms.

I didn't call the boss by name, because that would be a spoiler. I assumed anyone who played would know which boss I was speaking of by calling it that.

I thought they were called godly something, I am speaking of the items you find that have the names of gods on them and grant you abilities in the game after you beat it once.

I don't appreciate being called a liar, even by a faceless drone online. I have said I beat it, and if my word is not sufficient for you then you need only look at my PSN ID that is listed in my sig.

I do consider it a good game, but far from as good as most people claim. It is GOW through and through, if you did not like the firsat ones you will not like this one.

That said, Apart from the presentation in the game, I feel like they playied it alittle too safe, there are very few steps farwards from the series, and since it should be the last, I sort of felt underwhelmed, alto changing the formula too much would be dangerous aswell.

Maybe the true reasoning was that I sort of got tired of the GOW series with the 2nd one, and hoped that the third one would somehow put the game on a whole new level... It did not.
