As a PC gamer I stand up for no company. Most hermits are smart enough not to pledge unyielding devotion to a corporation, sadly we can't say the same of consolites.

I'm defending Sony this gen, though I loved Microsoft last gen. I never let anyone tell me what is good & what is bad. Instead, I try things out for myself & then judge what I love best. I've done significant gaming on 360, Wii, & PS3 (I've owned all three at one time or another). I honestly think Playstation 3 is the best of the three.

I don't necessarily like the PS3 controller more than the 360 gamepad, but I do love how the PS3 pad has a built in battery & the default controller comes with a charging cable. I also like the PS3 analog sticks a lot more than those on the 360 controller.

Some people really don't mind swapping DVDs mid game, but it bothers me a lot... Blu-ray is much better in my opinion.

Comparable PS3s are actually cheaper than 360s ($300 for a 360 w/ hard drive; $250 for a PS3 w/ hard drive).

Sony really seems to publish better games (LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, God of War, Motorstorm, Killzone... those are my favorites)

Another thing that I totally fell in love with when I first got my PS3 is how sexy the XMB is compared to the much less attractive 360 dashboard.

Companies get defended for a reason. Sony on TVs and systems, Microsoft for PCs and systems, and nintendo for the systems. Defending a company would result into blindly worshipping the company more foward until the point that they are a stupid fanboy who makes stupid s*** up in order to defend a company. The PS3, 360, and Wii are used for gaming, no more, no less. They do not need to be praised or to make a religion out of it, just to game. If you put stupid s*** up like 360 has gone casual or Sony is doomed, then you pulled a Heil68 and are lost. Not only that, something will matter to any fanboy when it only suits them. Overall, no company deserves to be defended because they'll only love whatever is in your wallet.

No one supports a company, they just defend them because they bought their products, so if people insult the product some people might feel like they themselves are getting insulted personally for their taste and its all one big clusterf*ck of different reasons, but its usually related to money and pride and people are dumb and that's why SW exists.
