Do you actually want a FFVII remake?

So TGS is coming up and once again the rumour for a FFVII remake is widely being discussed. This one started from a rumoured ending on FFVII: Crisis Core that says: "To be continued in Final Fantasy VII" once you complete the game.

If it were released, would you buy it? What would it need to have for you to buy it? Just updated graphics? New additions in the storyline (perhaps new characters)? New places to explore? Totally new gameplay?

What do you guys think?

Not the same thing. Movies =/= Games. Besides anyone who missed out can play the greatest RPG ever. Only people who don't have a PS3 won't want this game to be made, because they are afraid of the huge following behind it.

No. Remakes suck and SquareEnix has already run Final Fantasy into the ground enough. The original is still king as well.rond5566

It does not matter. When something is a classic, it should not be remade. It should be as it is with nothing else like it.

And I can compare it to movies. If a classic movie is remade, it is not the same. If a classic game is remade, it is NOT the same.

I loved this game, but seriously it won't be as great because we'd all know what to expect.The only people who should play it are the ones whowere too young to play it back when it first came out.

If they did a 1:1 of the game with updated amazing graphics I'd buy it in a second.

Or, if they had the same storyline but added some few things (along with the amazing graphics) and it wasn't 1:1 I'd still buy it.

Its not like anyone can just go out to there local store and buy this game. Is very hard to find and if found, you will most lilely have to pay a ridiculous amount for it.

I myself am fortunate enough to have my original copy from my ps1, but not all looking for this game are as fortunate as me.

I dont see a problem with people playing a remake that have not played the original anyway. Only problem i can see is that they will think the remake is superior to the original, which isnt a problem. its just an opinion.

Yes.

I wouldn't mind:

• Expansion of story, including some of the newer characters and expanding upon them since they've been mentioned now in the other FFVII titles
• Expansion of materia system
• Some extra side quests, bonus bosses, and mini games
• Better graphics obviously
• Voice overs

I want Square Enix to stop making Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest spin-offs/remakes and make new IPs.joeblak

each final fantasy is like a completely different story, completely different setting, and completely new characters, besides cid. the only thing connecting them are the words rpg and final fantasy

It is not very hard to find on the internet. It averages 50 dollars from a lot sellers.

thats true but for the people 18 and under with no credit card this game is hard to get thier hands on. They could ask their parents for their credit card, but some people dont like the idea of using their credit cards on the internet. and as always with ebay you are guaranteed nothing :/.

plus more and more young gamers are ghastly graphic whores, and refuse to play a ps1 game and would much rather wait for a remake( which rumours have been flying around for years and seems more and more likely all the time)

This game is wayyyyyy overrated... FF6 is the only true incredible Final Fantasy game I've played beside Tactics...Redgarl

I said stop making remakes/spin-offs.

heres my take on the subject of a ff7 remake. if you dont like the idea, dont play it. no one is forcing you to play it and you can still only have the classic in mind when you play ff7. but for those of us who actually want to see our most beloved rpg get remade in superb fashion, as i know square enix would treat such a huge project, then let us have our oppurtinity to enjoy such a wonderful game.

Why can't the kids just ask their parents to purchase it? And you don't have to use ebay. You can use Amazon, GameStop, ebgames, the likes.

I suppose I'd be fine if they JUST upgrade the graphics. That's it. ;)

lol.IFIFIFIFIFIF this game were to be remade the things i would want are

-more materia

-OPTIONAL voice acting from the AC cast(option to turn it on or off)

-off course(haha) astounding graphics

-music done by live bands/orchestras

-expanded cities/caves/dungeons/

-new enemies

Maybe a new sidequest or two as long as it doesnt interfere to much with the original game.

i feel these things wont change the game much form the original and wont upset many people. and me myself personally would want the same battle system, if that is changed then it wont be the same :/

off course(lol) the ideal situation for me would be a double blue ray set with two versions of a remake. one being ONLY a graphical update and musical update with everything else in tact. and the other being a remake with a diff battle system, new materia more sidequests and all new things =]

Yes, I want it. Yes, I would buy it. Game remakes are usually good.

However, I want the following from it;

Improved graphics, voice overs, an FFXII combat system, improved Materia system, more side-quests and bosses, more areas and an even more epic ending.

Currently loling at the thought of the Don Corneo part of the game where you must dress up as a woman in HD on PS3 lulz

Most of the people who are saying no don't even have a PS3 and don't want to see it successful after a release of a game like this.

I would love to play a remake of FF7 as long as they work very hard on it and make it as much of a breakthrough as the original.

I'd like it to look just like the realtime demo shown at E3 2005, and I'd like the gameplay to take on more of an "action game" vibe.
