Do you actually want a FFVII remake?

Yeah, same here. It'd be nice if they were totally focused on putting out new stuff, but if they remake it, as an RPG fan I'd be a fool not to buy it.

Yes, I didn't play FF7 as a kid, and played it a year or 2 ago and liked it a lot, so i'm not emotionally attached to it if I had played it when I was younger, i'd love to see a remake. The 2005 tech demo gives me goosebumps in anticipation.

It'll be released eventually, I don't think anytime soon though.

People would bash it for being different than the original. And I can pretty garentee you the script would be changed enough to make the old fans angry, Im sure a few characters would have crappy voices(Like Aerith did in KH2 in Advent Children). And the scenes would be over the top, Advent Children style.

If the gameplay were changed it would be criticised for being to different from the original and if it werent changed people would complain about how it'd feel to old.

lol tell that to square u know they remake everything. I dont mind because I know the game would be beautiful on ps3. One of the best looking on ps1. Just like look at my name, You know i bought crisis and u know I want it. But every year this rumor gets killed. it will die at tgs and at e3 next year.

Doing ffvii remake on PSP wouldn't be so bad since they've already done a lot of the models, some of the locals, and have a working engine with crisis core. If they added more bonus encounters (e.g. weapons), perhaps an improved translation, and a solid mini-games, it'd definately be something I would enjoy playing again. Don't forget those would be playing it for the first time as well. juno84

People need to stop complaining about remakes because they arent going away, they sell way too well.

Personally id love a FF7 remake, and im sure the folks at sony would too.

Not the same thing. Movies =/= Games. Besides anyone who missed out can play the greatest RPG ever. Only people who don't have a PS3 won't want this game to be made, because they are afraid of the huge following behind it. bobaban

I know this thread is over a year old, but...

Hellz yes! I know that I always complain about Square Enix making too many ports and remakes, so it might be hypocrtical for me to say this. But really, I don't care. It's ****ing Final Fantasy VII! I've NEVER played this game before. I can't go out and buy this game in stores. I can't find it anywhere, so what the hell am I supposed to do?

Two to three years ago, I might've been able to. That and Chrono Cross... But I had no idea at the time that they were so... amazing. I missed out.

I honestly believe it's already been made and SE and Sony are saving it for when the PS3 loses all fans/hope. But thats my opinion.

I might consider buying it, but only if there was a PC port (like the original).

I would love to see it done on the 360, selling millions of consoles in Japan and making many people angry. But yeah, I'd buy it no matter what console got it. I'd like to see new things, areas, gameplay mechanics, new skill materia. teufelherz

I have it on PS1, and that's where it should stay. I wouldn't mind a complete re-release via PSN or the Nintendo DS, but changing anything at all would piss me off. Leave the cIassics alone. And SquareEnix has been so full of fail lately that I don't think they could handle it anyway. Ever since the merger Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts haven't been the same.famicommander

I Completely agree, Final Fantasy 7 should not be re-made, just re-released. Don't get me wrong I love FF7 so much that I have 3 Copies, 1 on it's last legs, one that's been played through once and an unopened back up copy...(knowing my luck Disc 3 will be missing)

It's difficult to get copies these days and alot of the younger generation or people who didn't get a PS1 would never have played FF7. So re-release this on the PSP, PSN or even PS3, just don't want extra things adding like materia, Character etc...because then it wouldn't be the same game.

Just one more thing about Square-Enix before I go, they are still a very talented company. One of the best games I've ever played (Besides ff7) Is Kingdom Hearts, Valkyrie profile is good. Personally I cannot wait for the future games.
