Do you actually want a FFVII remake?

Yes, I want it. Yes, I would buy it. Game remakes are usually good.

However, I want the following from it;

Improved graphics, voice overs, an FFXII combat system, improved Materia system, more side-quests and bosses, more areas and an even more epic ending.

Currently loling at the thought of the Don Corneo part of the game where you must dress up as a woman in HD on PS3 lulz

If Square can make a good remake why can't they make a good new game? I mean as long as they know how to do great gameplay they already have 3/4ths of a great game done.

No. FFVII is an amazing game, but leave well enough alone. If they remade it, the story would probably change a bit, the gameplay would be different and the sound would get an overhaul. So how is it the classic game any more?

It's a great game, but leave it the way it is. If they want to make more money, just re release a straight port on the consoles.

Yes.

I wouldn't mind:

• Expansion of story, including some of the newer characters and expanding upon them since they've been mentioned now in the other FFVII titles
• Expansion of materia system
• Some extra side quests, bonus bosses, and mini games
• Better graphics obviously
• Voice overs

I think it would be disappointing if they did it on anything other than the PS3. Not because it couldn't be good, but because we've seen the amazing tech demo and most have their hopes up for graphical quality like that.

Do you actually want a FFVII remake?

So TGS is coming up and once again the rumour for a FFVII remake is widely being discussed. This one started from a rumoured ending on FFVII: Crisis Core that says: "To be continued in Final Fantasy VII" once you complete the game.

If it were released, would you buy it? What would it need to have for you to buy it? Just updated graphics? New additions in the storyline (perhaps new characters)? New places to explore? Totally new gameplay?

What do you guys think?

Not the same thing. Movies =/= Games. Besides anyone who missed out can play the greatest RPG ever. Only people who don't have a PS3 won't want this game to be made, because they are afraid of the huge following behind it.

no. wouldnt look at it. wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot barge pole. wouldnt look at a preview or review. going by how square have treated the FF7 name with its crappy spin offs and rubbish movie.....it would be absolutely dire. i wouldnt care what it would score.....i wouldnt give it a first thought. i have the origonal in storage (was going to play it on my PS2 but then realised that i needed a PS1 memory card for it to work :( ) so if i want to play a classic, ill play that.

ugh i could imagine it now.....FF7 with "tude" and all sorts of advent children crap.....id have to be at gun point to buy it.

I agree for the most part except I would like to see the old super nintendo's FF4 I think it was remade with today's graphics. Forget the pixel's. Just use the same exact storyline, and make the graphics look like one of the newer games like Heavenly Sword or something..... I would be far more interested in playing that updated that another rehash of FF7.

Considering the lack of talent Square has these days,

remake sounds much better than new game.

So you are saying Square Enix doesn't have the talent to make a new or original game? Basically this means that Square Enix is dead to me. If what you're implying is that the only thing Square Enix can make is a remake of an old game then I wave to them in the wind. I will not support a remake of FFVII period. If this is the course that Square Enix wants to take then as one of their former fans I will not spend my money on it. You guys can go buy it and love it but I will never support the constant remake/spinoff/port of all the DQ and FF games.

Give us new games, give us revivals of older titles that never got another chance because of FF and DQ. I don't want a remake. I want a new game.
