Yeah, I do.
I mean, the Wii definitely isn't my primary console, but it's bound to get a few great exclusives. The GC had some of my favourite games of last gen, so I'm confident that the Wii will have something worth playing...eventually.
Now and forever.
To not support Nintendo is to not support gaming.
Afterall they did make the most money last gen off a console that spent most of its time in 3rd place.
And how can you not like a company that will so blantly go the distance to either great succsess or failure?
the virtual boy, power gloves?
analog control, rumble, motion sensing, touch gaming.
and this is the real first generation Ninty isn't going for the cutting edge tech. thing.
seriously Ninty is gaming.
I will not own a Nintendo game system. I can own others if i choose.

I don't support Nintendo, does that make me a game hater? You might need to go back and change some of your stuff.

You hear that? That's my world shattering.
No. Not this gen, at least.Panzer_Zwei
I think its obvious what you were going to answer.
I really don't mean to be rude, but why do you hate the Wii so much?
I haven't seen someone smart actually hate the Wii.
it either "PSTriple is the PWNAGE!" or some crap but not you
Why?
What on earth is so terrible about it?
Do you fear casuals will take over gaming?
that would kinda odd since the PS2 sold 115 million units to casuals.
hardcores bought the saturn and the dreamcast and look where that got them.
halo, grand theft auto are some of the most casual titles around with halo 2 selling 8 million copies on the Xbox and San Andreas selling 14 million copies on the PS2 to a specific demographic of young men 14-30 years old.
did you know at the time of E3 40% of the (at the time 8 million) Wii owners were over the age of 40?
does it lack hardcore games? frankly i am not one to throw around the "hardcore" word coz honestly everyone i've met who branded themselves with it has always been narrow minded.
i'd think to label one's self anything is silly being as you really can't be it until another person calls you it and do you really want women thinking you're a hardcore gamer?
and i think everyone plays casual games.
for something to sell well it must be part casual and part good.
gran turismo is more good than casual but still somewhat casual.
halo to me is more casual than good.
GTA is even to me. except for the awful city stories spin offs.
did you support nintendo when they said online gaming wasnot important?ryokinshin6x3
did you support MS when they said HDMI ports aren't important?
Did you support Sony when they said motion sensing, rumble weren't important?
or the whole 4D thing?
Yes, I support thier innovation and contribution to the gaming industry.
No and absolutely no, I don't support them as far as buying a Wii because the console doesn't offer anything remotely interesting to me. And I don't like & don't care about the Wii controller. It really boils down to GAMES. Clearly, GAMES is what runs the industry. And Wii, in my book, doesn't have them.
Honestly, my interest in Nintendo consoles died right after N64. GC was a devestating let down, and a spit of acid in my face, imo.
But overall, back in the day, I prefer Sega's consoles and games.
However, I love and enjoy the DS (a platform, I believe, minigames belong on)
psp is not a development graveyard and are you seriously telling me everything nintendo does is perfect?ryokinshin6x3
well i gather the point that the person who's quoted in my sig is getting at is no developer really says
"hey lets make a really good game for a system that in 3 years has 2 titles hit the million mark in north america!"
when the other handheld has 30 titles that've hit the million mark in the same time.
PSP users are, will be, and always have been the PSP's undoing. They don't buy games. They steal them.
I don't know a single PSP owner who DOESN'T play GBA games on his PSP.
no not everything Ninty does is perfect. hello i said the VB, power gloves, i just think they look to make things fun constantly.
a developer once said (can't remember who) in an interview that he loved the third party help Ninty gives it third party developers. he said Myiamoto would come in once every 3 months, over look everything and say "great progress. i like this, this, and this. these could be better. but make sure to understand and implement whats fun about this game you're creating"
i'm paraphrasing of course but it was in game informer about the struggle to make good games between the seedy curtains of the sometimes bad developer to publisher relationships.
the developer said Nintendo would always give them time and work with them to make the game good in a way like no other.
do you want a company that will just copy and paste its formula to succsess from another or one that will take risks?
every company makes mistakes but i would never abandon them.
i prefer ninty but would never turn my back to MS or Sony. I don't understand why people are so bias and not appreciate the things that make each game, each console good.
i plan on buying a 360 just for mass effect, and i will buy a PS3 probably when the HD era starts in 2009.
did you support nintendo when they said online gaming wasnot important?ryokinshin6x3
They didn't say that this gen. In fact they have said MANY times that online gaming is very important to them.
dude i never said i completely dislike everything from nintendo, by the way people pirate and download ds games as much as psp games
i dont like something nintendo has done, but if you like their games go for it
it shoudlnt have taken them a generation to figure it out

i think u should supprot the fact that Nintendo stays in business or stays competitive and finds its own market and even has critical success as well.dude i never said i completely dislike everything from nintendo, by the way people pirate and download ds games as much as psp games

ryokinshin6x3
if people pirate DS games as much as PSP then why does it have 30 million sellers?
why has pokemon diamond/pearl sold like 6or 7 million (could be more) copies this year?
why did New Super Mario Bros pass the 11 million mark after a year and a half of release?
i wonder if all the PSP games sold period are more than new super mario bros and pokemon diamond/pearl?
what do you expect out of nintendos core franchises
why would developers even bother with the psp if what you say is true "everyone" just steals games
[QUOTE="Panzer_Zwei"]No. Not this gen, at least.darth-pyschosis

I don't "hate" it, I just don't like it, hence why I will be skipping it this gen.It doesn't really matter to me that the Saturn and Dreamcast went under, they still got the kind of games I liked. If they had been popular to the point everybody would've bought it and that would've changed what games they had gotten, then I don't know if I would've liked them like I did. Of course that's just theorical.
Hell, even I admit the Dreamcast is the most overrated console in this board, for me it didn't lived up to the Saturn. Everybody praises everything for it, even if a game scored poorly, it's cool because it's on the Dreamcast, but God forbids it scores low nowadays cause it's not worth playing. It's really annoying.
And I didn't really bought the PS2 for games like GTA and Gran Turismo. I don't care how many games they throw at casuals non-gamers and whatever other gamer categories are there. As long as there are games that appeal to me. I've never been a fan of Nintendo-made games, and so the Wii really has no appeal to me.
[QUOTE="ryokinshin6x3"]did you support nintendo when they said online gaming wasnot important?Firelore29
They didn't say that this gen. In fact they have said MANY times that online gaming is very important to them.
Yet, they were too slow (or too blind) to embrace it earlier. Xbox Live and PS Network already saw what Online gaming had to offer back 5-6 years earlier. Hell, SEGA embraced Online Gaming, even long before Dreamcast, back in the early 90's with the TeleModem for the Genesis (If memory serves).
GC and Xbox arrived at the same time, yet Xbox Live has proven itself in 2002. Where's Nintendo Online? What the hell was Nintendo's excuse for jumping on the bandwagon 5 years too late?
GC and GBA Link was too important and better? : lol: Pleeeeease
isnt it the same thing in a sense when nintendo says good hardware is not important?
i follow the games i like, exactly why i have a psp over a ds, and the hardware is good which make sit all the better, and i do buy all of my games.....
same goes for the consoles, ps3 and 360 have hte games i like and the hardware i want so id go for those 2 over nintendo

Nintendo was one of the first to use online, the satellaview for the SNES or something like that and with a zelda MMO :o, they just didn't think it was important, and i support them for that, i still like to play Smash or Halo in the same room with my friends.
