I agree, luckily I summoned someone who really helped me.clone01
Good call. I solo'd them, and it hurt.

One of the only times I summoned was on the Demon Centipede, and Solaire ended up getting himself killed. I had to end up beating him myself after I died a few times.

He was a major pain. Forgot about that guy.
Well honestly every game is about information and learning; that's what comprises gameplay, be it running and jumping around increasingly complex levels or learning about a virtual environment to piece together a story. The outstanding thing about Dark Souls is how it presents all that information, it's spartan and through action compared to most games and demands the players to adapt to how it plays. It is entirely unforgiving like that. The game is all about information and learning.

Dark Soul's has more frequent Bonfires which made it feel a tad bit easier than Demons Souls. But they're both tough and require patience when facing even the lowliest enemy. Although I beat every boss in Demons Souls without ever getting help from others online. It's hard but passable. Bread_or_DecideThat and the part where playing Hollowed wasn't as severe a punishment as playing soul form was in Demon's Souls. If I'm not mistaken you're like half health(or half power?) in soul form in that game.

Actually I beat him on my third try. First time I got rocked, second time I came pretty close and third time he died. Solaire just helped zero :P

Since I play offline, Humanity is quite rare for me, so I basically use it to kindle and that's it. I won't go out of my way to Summon someone... I actually went through the majority of the game without help. I think the only time I got help was on the Iron Golem, aside from that I didn't summon on my first playthrough, aside from Solaire on Demon Centipede, who was totally useless.
