Why does anyone want it to fail?nintendoboy16

Pretty sure several explained it above. I hope they dont get away with this joke of a console. Maybe with a 50% price cut it can have a place in this market but we cant let companies like Nintendo rip people off like this or others will think its OK also.
[QUOTE="nintendoboy16"]Why does anyone want it to fail?KaszillaBecause it isnt contributing anything to the industry.Neither did the PS3 for the longest time. Overpriced, no system selling exclusives, terrible system architecture for multiplat devs, no straightforward online component, no PSN store, no trophies, failed motion gimmick in Sixaxis, etc. Even today, as great as it is, it's hard to point out what the PS3 contributed to the industry.

I thought it was a bad thing that Nintendo doesn't succeed? Since their "hardcore" systems backfired on them, they had to go the route everyone hates (nevermind all that was said about one of those "hardcore" systems ended up pulling a 180) and it made them have success they wouldn't have likely got again. Sure, they said they'd go the "hardcore" route with Wii U, but even that ended up biting them in the ass two months before it released.the faster they fail, the faster you and everyone else will finally (i say finally because its been a while since we got a great Nintendo system) get a good console from Nintendo. Why would anyone want it to fail?

Sure, simply cause I'm not interested in WiiU doesnt mean I want the console/Nintendo to fail..
I do hope nintendo wakes up and does whatever is possible to improve WiiU's 3rd party support while offering even more quality 1st party titles..

If by your definition of good means selling out to trolls...No, by my definition its N64 kind of good. And how did that fare for them, I wonder? Listen, I liked the N64 (it's one of my favorite consoles by them), but that is where things were going downhill for Nintendo. There is no sugar coating that, no matter how many trends it started (analog sticks and four player controller support out of the box), and it's ironic because sheep are being called out for the sugar coating.[QUOTE="nintendoboy16"][QUOTE="silversix_"]the faster they fail, the faster you and everyone else will finally (i say finally because its been a while since we got a great Nintendo system) get a good console from Nintendo.

I generally dont care, but in this case... Yes I would like if they flopped hard with the WiiU (even discontinue the Wii U).

Im just tired of Nintendo's bullshit.
They really should just focus on handhelds and stop pretending they can make home consoles. They already have the fan base for the handheld market, now they can support their system greatly and not have to worry about cost and limiting features as much if they just go handheld only.
I want it to fail, yes. But not because I don't like Nintendo. I like their IPs. But I want them to learn a lesson, they are a stubborn company, so only financial failure will lead to them to change their business model and hopefully get rid of some of the Execs running that ship.
Here's the thing; Nintendo could have gotten away with asking a higher price-tag on their console, if they just would justify the purchase and truly be more open to working with third party partners. To justify the price tag, they need to play ball and actually release a competent machine that would be able to offer amazing titles for another 5+ yrs.
I generally dont care, but in this case... Yes.Their handhelds may make them the most money, but without consoles, they'll end up getting killed off even faster. You can't support just one thing to make a profit, you need to spread out (especially since not everyone even LIKES handhelds), which is funny because this is what Nintendo is flanked for, not spreading out (well, this with their IP's, but it's still ironic).Im just tired of Nintendo's bullshit. Nintendo is having a real hard time competing withe PS3/360/PC at the moment with the WiiU, they wont be able to do anything when the PS4 and 720 get here. And could you imagine Nintendo making a console to compete with the PS5 and Xbox 1080?[QUOTE="Nengo_Flow"]I generally dont care, but in this case... Yes.

Definitely! But I dun mind seeing them struggle as well. There are plenty of lessons to be learned with this console for them. They really need to reevaluate their approach in terms of hardware in the future to better entice customers and devs alike. Ninty can totally do better.
No, i don't want any weak system sold at a premium that relies on a useless controller gimmick to succeed, nevaaaar.silversix_Say byebye to console gaming then.
Cool story bro. Like, you have an opinion man.No gamer wishes for a console to fail. Those people are called fanboys, not gamers.

The PS1 and the Saturn dwarfed the N64 in terms of 3rd party support.. dunno if that's cool.
Oh, how did I miss this?
I really like Nintendo and I dont want them to go 3rd party bcuz of their handhelds. The Wii U will surely get some great games but I just dont see the point of a last gen console releasing right before the PS4 & 720 which will be a leap above the Wii U. Will the industry hurt if the Wii U fails? I dont think so.KaszillaNot what your last few threads have told me.

As do you. Congrats, bro...
Clever response btw. You must've tossed and turned to come up with a response like "state the obvious".
