Does TR being exclusive to X1 sway you?

I've already got an X1 so...

It's not exclusive to Xbox One. It's on 360 as well.

I'll just skip the game.

No, I already got an Xbone and I don't care for the TR franchise. Besides, 360 gamers can buy this TR game as well, confirmed by Xbox.com as Crystal Dynamics 360/Xbone holiday 2015 exclusive. If the game is amazing, I may pick it up for $20 or something down the road.

Besides, this TR game is on 360. No need to buy an Xbone for the new TR if you have a 360. So this new TR game is cross-gen developed which is Incredibly disappointing as the game is limited to using last gen assets and hardware. They will sprinkle in resolution and effects on Xbone and call it a day. To me, the exclusive stuff isn't a big deal, it's that this new game for 2015 is another Cross-gen developed multiplatform game.

That makes games like the Witcher 3 and Batman Arkham Knight all the more exciting as they aren't developed for last gen machines in mind (PS360).

That wording leaves 3rd Party company SquareEnix 2016 and beyond for 'Rise of the TR' ports.

There is no denying the fact that PS4 is the better console this gen just as X360 was the better console last gen.

So for that I'm intending for my X1 to be used just for exclusives. Just like how I used my PS3 last gen.

Hell no. Never was interested in the TR games. Played the 2013 reboot, but it's not that good.

Actually, only TR I've ever liked is the downloadable one with the isometric view. That game is super fun in co-op.

Theres been a few EA games that pissed off a lot of ppl...Xbox and PC gamers alike. And it shows.

I already own one but if i was in the position i wouldn't be getting one for TR. Firstly i don't care about the franchise and secondly it's on 360 too (get a 360 for £50 online if you're that bothered about playing it).

Overall though with third party exclusives they aren't worth purchasing a console over imo. Half the time they don't stay exclusive for long so i put more stock in first party exclusives.

Anyway I think this will wind up being timed, any MS representative who talks about it is being really weird and careful on the wording.

Since it's exclusive to XO, it'll probably be a rushed cash grab with tons of microtransactions and DLC to please Microsoft's pockets. It'll be even more casual and linear than ever with lots of quick time events so dudebros don't get frustrated with complex gameplay.

No, I'm positive it'll come to other systems some time after. Microsoft doesn't seem big on having exclusives. How many times have we heard something is exclusive to Xbox, but ends up coming to other systems?

Well setting aside the fact there's a good possibility TR is just a "2015 Holiday Exclusive" Still No.

I expect this to have an even less impact than Titian Fall, the last TR never cracked the 90s so it's good just not a system seller. You think they wouldn't be so stupid to make this a true exclusive unless MS paid them a ridiculous amount of money.

I see this backfiring in more ways than just not making PC and PS4 sales, they're pissing people off and not in a way that's going to make them run out and buy and Xbox One. TR isn't even going out for over a year plenty of time for people to get over it.

Not to mention the gap between Xbox One and PS4 is only going to get bigger by the end of 2015, so if this was MSs plan to sway people over to the Xbox One by the end of 2015 it will be far to late and any systems they sell because of TR will be laughable.

I think the point of the thread is to give the benefit of the doubt and just assume it will remain an Xbox One exclusive. (regardless of how improbable that may be)

That kind of phrasing is almost confirmation of it being a timed exclusive.

I do like the new Tomb Raider, but this does motivate me to buy an X1, I will play it on the 360 instead. If the X1 holds Mass Effect hostage though I will bite and become an X1 owner.

Yes. One should pause for a moment and consider what 3rd Party companies, like SquareEnix, will do with their popular IPs. Beyond 2016, what will SE do with TR? History would point to the obvious ports to make money for 3rd Party companies, but PR would have us believe that SE is making TR an exclusive forever.

Spencer left it open though as quoted above with his ultra careful wording, beyond Holiday 2015, what happens with TR is open.

If it was truly exclusive to the Xbone it might sway me. As it is, it is not, so no. I will just play it on my 360 if it never makes it's way to the PS4.

Considering there is a last gen TR 360 version for 2015, I wouldn't be surprised on a PS3 and even Wii U version as well.

We'll find out in 2016, I suppose.
