Done with Sony after a decade of support

Am I the only sony fan jumping ship after their latest disaster? I backed Sony since day 1 and wanted them to win this gen, but they seemed clueless to their problems...and now they cut the price by 100 bucks on the 60 gig system and I was happy..then they say it's because they are phasing it out and we will be back at 600? I really can't deal with this anymore, it's one stupid mistake after another! 1 lie and bait and switch, and I am sure more are coming. I am jumping ship, I am no MS fan, but I will back the 360 and go for that and watch Sony sink faster than the titanic!

If you are disappointed because Sony WILL raise the price after 60GB PS3s are no longer in stock, then buy one now, because you will only pay $500. Because yours will be cheaper than those in the future, you will have no reason to complain at all.

Luckily I didn't waste the money on a PS3, I had a PS1 and 2 and will now go for a 360 after at first wanting a PS3 above all...Now I don't see a reason to do that anymore.

I've owned the ps1 and ps2. They were the best systems i have owned. As soon as the ps3 came out with that useless blu ray player and high price tag I knew that sony wasn't about gaming any more. Sony has lost their ways with their arrogant and deceiveful tatics that pissed many people off including me.

I owned a xbox 360 now and although it might not have the lastest technology like bluetooth, blu ray, wifi and etc... The xbox 360 deliver games just like the ps1 and ps2 did. Im rooting for sony the gen after this as Im sure they will do a lot better. But now I'll go back to playing my xbox 360.

You were never a Sony loyalist to begin with. Because if that were so you'd already own a PS3. Meaning you wouldn't be affected to the degree of abandoning them on the issue of a hardware price cut.4_Horsemen

This e3 was the best for Sony. They are releasing a bunch of awesome games this year for the PS3. So I don't understand how peeps like me are considered dumb***es in your opinion.

And if Microsoft really cared about their people they wouldn't have greedily released the 360 a year early then Sony. In order to fix the red ring of death.

for me its like sony is just screwing up on its production plan....

but the game line-up is pretty good...after like waiting for 8 months for good games in 2008...

rite now im on the ps3 in a titanic sceneario and im debating to jumpp off the ship and get on the x360 rescue boat or just sink down with it and hope i end up getting saved by dolphins like in pirates of the carribean and the dolphins take me too ATLANTIS...

my conclusion is on august...

cause im getting either a ps3 on x360 on august...

It's more than the price, the price was just the last straw.

Really at this point giving up on the PS3 is completely idiotic. Look at all the great games and features coming to it!

I think it's strange how you accuse everyone who speaks against you for being a "Sony Fanboy". Not everybody who questions you is a Sony fanboy, for example: Me. This just goes to show that you have some pre-displaced hatred for Sony, furhter supporting all of the people who are grilling you. You can't just disparage people because they disagree with you. Are you losing it? No games, high price, bad controller, no exlcusives? Have you not been paying attention? The majority of the games on PS3 are on 360 also. Name 3 good reasons to buy a PS3? And no, the HD stuff won't work because I don't have an HDTV.

High price? YOU HEARD THIS YEARS AGO! $599 is what Kaz said, everyone heard it and knew it. Like he said a true sony fan wouldn't care all that much.

No exclusives :| MGS4 is enough, but there's also heavenly sword, ratchet, MGS4, Killzone 2, and far more that will never come to other systems.

Your not a fanboy, a fanboy would be more informed on their system. You are probably a lemming or sheep that is sad to see the future of your system is not as bright as the ps3... It just pains you that the loser for the past year is going to be getting good games.

Good lord. How can I hate them if I got their first 2 systems? I hate nintendo, I am just annoyed with sony. Your comment doesn't work that way, just because people stop supporting a company doesn't mean they are a fakeboy....Glasshouse dude.

I am also annoyed with Sony's decisions, but that doesn't account for all of the games thatare being made for their console. Yes, it is a stupid decision to make a "temporary price-drop," but while people without PS3's are complaining about it, they can just get one within the next few months, and make fun of those who pay the full price.

Hmmm.... lets see, remenber the ps3 is suppose to be a gaming machine and not primarily a movie player. Sony failed to deliver in game thus far and it is unacceptable with the price tag given.

Sony's e3 was impressive but they had to show all their big guns for next year because they are in a bad situation. Microsoft hasn't even shown its 08 line up with the exception of re5 during e3 and microsoft's fall lineup destroys anything sony or nintendo can offer. X07 will be microsoft's real secret.

And microft is actually being responsible with its hardware problems by offering the 3 years extended warranty which will cost them 1 billion dollar in profit this quater. If MS didn't care about their customers then they wouldn't have offered the free extended warranty. Microsoft is also fixing this issue by replacing the old 90nm chip with the 65 nm falcon chips which will run a lot cooler.

Sony on the other hand has already discontinued two sku's. They keep ripping their consumers off but taking out features like Emotion engine which is neccessary for full backward compatibility. Sony doesn't care about their loyalist and consumers, they want to acheived their own agenda by implanmenting blu ray into the ps3 which has no glaring benefits towards gaming.

the funniest part is the fact that you'll be missing out on everything great about the ps3 because you are so blinded by your loyalty to another brand. If you think the sixaxis sucks you must also think the dualshock sucks. If you think the ps3 is too expensive then I suppose you won't be buying any NEW tech anytime soon.
