It depends what kind of games you like, and whether you'd make use of the PSP's multimedia capabilities.

Without a doubt, your best option is the DS if you are looking for innovative and greatgames... if you are looking for graphics and multimedia, PSP is the way to go...

OMFG, I am so damn sick of this argument. The great games argument wasn't even valid on the PSP launch; we still had Ridge Racer, Wipeout Pure, Lumines and Twisted Metal: Head On. If anything, it was the DS that was suffering. If it wasn't for Nintendogs the DS would've lost.

In all honesty, you should try them yourself and come up with your own opinion rather than asking strangers on a forum, particularly this forum.

You're really asking in the wrong place, all you're going to get here is a bunch of fanboy comments, go look up both handheld libraries and decide for yourself.

DS, bro. Both have good games, but:

-New Super Mario Bros
-Elite Beat Agents
-Phantom Hourglass
-Mario Kart

...and a couple of others are among the best games I've ever played on any platform. Ever. Prue fun.

Yes the DS suffered in the beginning, but now it'ss beating the PSP, and that's allthis boyy needs to know. And the fact that theDS is just more innovative, and great like cfamgcn said.

*EDIT* Damn I wrote it so fast there were few spelling errors.

That only applies if he was asking this question a couple of years ago, before the D.S. became a world-wide phenomenon. With the skyrocketing success of the D.S., the PSP is going the way of the dodo.

Oh so you're saying just because the DS is a phenomenon the PSP can't be successful? It's been selling decently and already reached 24m units sold, that's not bad at all.

The D.S. has sold over 50 million in two years, and in Japan one in six people own one. It's easy to predict which one is going to be getting more (and probably better) games. The one appeal of the PSP is it's multimedia functions.

Well DS has been outselling the PSP for 2 years, and IMO psp library is much better, so no..quality > quanity. Plus both libraries are totally different, you can't really compare. DS will never get games such as monster hunter, or syphon filter, each handheld excels in different types of games.

PSP has a huge library of great games....

What did you expected in a forum full of antisony whinners?

I have both hanhelds and I haven't touched my DS in months; I play my PSP daily and rarely bother with its multimedia features. The DS library is too shallow for my tastes.

It is my second favorite gaming platform after PC.

Ds games overall are much better, Phantom Hourglass!!!! fricken amazing

See, the thing with sony fans are, they get a system that has hardly any good games, then when it does get a game thats good, they wont stop talking about it. Meanwhile the DS gets so many good games, it doesnt want to brag and hurt sonys feelings anymore than it already has. Then psp fanboys will say "buh buh teh mp3z and videos!!" Well? Almost everyone owns an ipod. The DS has a huge, great library of games, with no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

I still don't know why people would buy a PSP if they already own a PS2 since it's so similar to it and almost every game it has contains a superior PS2 counterpart.

stika

Tbh, the PSP's library is swimming in a sea of crappy looking PS2 games. Nothing really seperates them from every other game.PSP still loses seeing as DS is far more popular in teh real world. :)

My list was a counter to someone else's list. Plus he didn't post any DS games so you fail. Also, why does a game being for girls make any difference?
