[QUOTE="mastershake575"]Ive seen people play very high settings direct 9 with a 8800GTS 640mb averaging 25-30fps @720p so I don't see why a system with a better video card can't run the more optimized expansion with the same results..... Also I found all the same exact parts on newegg and with crysis it comes to be about $670 so there's no way you can strach off $200 easily like your making it seem. mastershake575

You gotta know your sources :D

Please tell us how systemwars users can get brand new parts for $200-$250 cheaper than listed on one of the cheapest computer sites ? I sure hope your not talking about getting all the parts through ebay and then pirating windows.....

Nope. I have a couple stores in my city where I can get parts for factory prices. It's good to know someone.

Thats fine and all but im stating it as a majority fact for the users here on systemwars. Easily 95% of the users here will pay retail price which is why I said "theres no way you can scratch that off easily"

I'm sure you can if you go to the right places.

you are failing to see the point......people hate the hassle of having to build a pc, and on top of that go to a certain amount of stores just to get the best prices, while with this its alot more simple for all of those :|

But some people, like me, like to build their own PCs and see pre-built systems a hassle because your customization options are limited.

This is an excellent machine but instead of the core 2 duo EA could have installed the quad since the price difference isn't that significant. But then again I heard the performance difference between core 2 duo and the quad isn't that great so I guess the core 2 duo is good enough.

blaznwiipspman1
Unless you're running a game with 4 threads, a dual-core is generally faster due to their higher clock rates.

its just lazyness really. I builded my PC and it wasen't hard at all. All you need is a basic knowledge of a computor and thats it.

It's not so much laziness as anything else, some people really don't want to go through the hassle, some people don't have the knowledge, other's plain and simple don't want to risk putting parts together themselves, and others just want to play games and have the machine given to them prebuilt, everything loaded and ready to go.

To many flaws. Future upgrades kills this deal.

That case looks like it can't cool for **** and is probably to small to fit anything other than a 9800GT, or 8800GT GPU. The motherboard sounds crap, isn't good for OC'ing cpu's, and probably has minimal socket support. The PSU most likely has just enough power and although the CPU is decent for right now Core 2 Quads are starting to become the better deal. Also OS? Is 2GB of ram enough for Vista? Will it run Warhead at an average of 40FPS on high in DX10 at atleast 1280x1024?

dream431ca

1. It supports ATX motherboards, over 7 harddrives and it has 3 fans so your wrong

2. Its decent for overclocking and a bios update should give you support to yorkfield, Also socket LGA 775 is being replaced in november so using socket support as a drawback/complain is a VERY bad idea ...... Since everybody right is using 775 or below

3. The powersupply is most likely by ultra which makes pretty decent tier 3 powersupplies and most good quality 430-450w are enough for a 9800GT

4. The E7200 is in the low $100s and it can beat the Q6600 in most games which is almost double the price...... Also it can hit 4ghz on a decent cooler so nope processors fine

5. It comes with an operating system, 2 gigs is plenty, and since it seems to be more optimized than the first than your answer should be defiently yes on the last question

Next time you make a rant about a computer, make sure you know what your talking about

2 Gigs is not enough. Windows Vista alone takes up 1.17 Gigs of system memory. Crysis is a major memory hog. Play Crysis with 2 gigs and be prepared for some choppy gameplay. That 512MB will slightly help, but not much.

Most good computers have PS much more than 500 Watts. Overclocking is a bad idea unless you get the right amount of cooling, which means you will need to upgrade your fans and your PS just to keep up with the extra load.

You might as well just build your own PC from scratch. It will save you a lot of money in the end.

1. I just checked my available physicaly ram and with this tab up im loosing about 350mb.......... Thats not 1.17gigs

2. Its a tier 3 powersupply so its fine. People freak about about watts but effiecienty and amperage on the 12V+ rail are way more important. With high amperage and effiency the ultra powersupply can outperform tier 4-5 600-700w easily so thats not a good point

3. The processor performs around a 3.0ghz core 2 duo conroe so even if you did want to overclock increasing it by .5ghz would be easy on the stock cooler and the case already has enough fans. Not to mention the powersupply would surpase the required power for the video card so that wasn't a good point to make.

I agree, im just disagreeing with people like you who try to bash this computer when theres nothing really wrong with it.....

2.

I agree there is nothing wrong with it, but look at those screenshots of Crysis they are advertising it with. You will not beable to play that game on very high settings smoothly. That is what I'm getting at. For other games, it's great. I prefer to build my own PC's so I can get what I want and at a reasonable price. You are overpaying for that pre-built system. If I were to build that system from scratch, it would be around $400-$500.

what the hell are you talking about. My pc is the same with a lesser video card and it plays crysis on very high at 30fps at 720p....have you even played the game?

Most likely it won't. If they included a monitor, that'd add at least $200 to the price.

What do you think? I think is a decent deal. OEM gaming PC don't get much better than this for the price.

Jared2720

Despite the fact it's a pre-built Pc, it is quite a good deal.

Pre-built? What's wrong with that? Somebody has to build it...

I lol'd.

It's a decent deal... 9800GT :P

Well there we go, hehe. I just bothered looking at the picture thinking they were going to be generic parts. Though I will say I don't like the PSU, Case, or MB. The rest seems just fine.

I don't know why people are saying that build isn't too good. Sure it isn't the fastest thing on the market, but it'll play pretty much all games out there just fine. This may be a good option for those who don't want to put the effort of buying the parts separately and building a PC.

Indeed. I wouldn't get into a prebuild but this would be a nice one to consider if anyone is though, much better than many other awful ''deals'' specially the vid. card.

It would run Crysis quite well too, since mine with a lower processor, vid card and that same amount of RAM can at high/1280.

If that price includes the OS then that's a pretty good deal. If not then you can build basically the same PC with a slightly better CPU at cyberpower.com for a bit cheaper.

Hey I havent played games on PC in forever so just a couple quick questions. If anyone can help me it would be great.

Would this PC play new games for a few years? or need a upgrade with in a year or two?

Would this PC be good for non gaming functions? (My girlfriend does a lot of art programs and stuff like that)

If I built this myself (yes I have done it before, only like 9 years ago lol. Voodoo 5 lol) how much could I save?

If this thing can be gtg for a few years I might pick it up. I want a new home PC and instead of spending $400 on a crap pc I would rather spend $700 on something I could game on.

SpideR_CentS

It can play Crysis on high so I'd say it's good for at least 3 years, my PC is a year old and nothing has punished it yet, except crysis on Very high, on high (DX9) I get around 30FPS, if you built yourself you wouldn't save much more.. but I'm not sure what the figure would be so get someone with prices to confirm that.

[QUOTE="SpideR_CentS"]

Espada12

It can play Crysis on high so I'd say it's good for at least 3 years, my PC is a year old and nothing has punished it yet, except crysis on Very high, on high (DX9) I get around 30FPS, if you built yourself you wouldn't save much more.. but I'm not sure what the figure would be so get someone with prices to confirm that.

thanks for the reply. I think I will buy this :) Depends on how much for shipping though ...

That's a great rig for the asking price. EA usually get a lot of hate, but i think it's awesome that they're trying to get gaming PCs into peoples homes.Ninja-Hippo

Im getting it.

[QUOTE="mastershake575"][QUOTE="SSCyborg"]This machine gonna be upgradeable?Pinkyimp

You can upgrade to more harddrive, you have 2 more slots for ram, it supports faster speeds of ram and quad cores so yep.......

you cant upgrade the Video card?..if not than Fail:1 to EA.

Is it me or are people just trying to find reasons to hate on this. Asking the question is fine. Saying your reply before you get an answer is 1 fail for you.

Of course I own the game (as with every COD but 3), and have put in 30 hours into multiplayer ;)

Generic as in 'generic' game design.

As in heavily scripted linear shooter, identical to the first, and many shooters out there.

Of course its not a bad game at all, far from it, nor is it exactly generic, im just exaggerating in context to Crysis (which has far more unique game design) being called generic.

2GB ram? yuck

250gb storage? yuck

and dualcore 2.66GHz? yuck

That's supposed to be a Crysis machine?

Ninja-Hippo

That rig would run Crysis just fine. :?

You mean Crysis Warhead. It might not run Crysis well at all.

[QUOTE="lantus"]Does that machine max Crysis Warhead? What about the original Crysis?Ninja-Hippo

No. No current PC can max Crysis. It was made with future machines in mind. The PC from EA will run the game to a standard which looks amazing however; certainly better than anything on consoles.

you mean to say Crysis is simply not optimized as well as Crysis Warhead. not that Crysis is somehow more potent than Warhead.

.Dreams-Visions

Beg to differ, mine runs Crysis just fine on high settings, and its worse.

And Crysis is getting a 'Warhead' patch that optimises the engine drastically, and improves the visuals in a similar way - or so has said Crytek a few times - in response to calls that they were 'stopping patching'.
