There's a lot on the list I disagree with- but that top 5 is hugely respectable, and the number one game they picked is, obviously, the best one that could have been picked for that spot, really.

Grand Theft Auto V was total shit and doesn't deserve to be so high. I would say San Adreas should take its place. Hey even GTA4 is better than 5. The rest of the list looks ok I guess.

Anyway, the list is...interesting. I mean, I love shit like Dark Souls, so I shouldn't be complaining that it's so high up there (I'm not). I just think the list ranges anywhere from typical choices to straight up "wtf, really?"

I guess I just don't know what I want with my life.

I think the list at least took some unusual chances instead of just going with the standard OOT/SM64/Half Life/MGS/Super Metroid/Mario World/Chrono Trigger/FF7 route that most lists of this sort do.

I don't agree with a lot of it- but hey, #1 is right where it belongs, so I'm good.

Destiny at 36, Overwatch at 49. Goodness me......

This is an abysmal list, honestly it looks like it's a trend following top 100 and not mostly comprised of actual games that should be on a top 100...

If it's ranked lower, why is that bad? TW3 shouldn't have been in the 50s lol, it's at least a top 20 game.

Sorry, my bad on the wording front. I mean The Witcher 3 is rated a worse game than Trials Fusion on this list. Which everyone in their right mind can agree is criminal. And I personally can't stand The Witcher

I never feel right to place anything that's brand new on a top spot on lists like these. That's what makes BotW feel so out of place to me as simply a fresh experience that just had to be number one. Mind you, I fucking bought BotW again now that I bought a Switch...yeah, I had it on the Wii U first, and now I have it on Switch cause I'm a fucking whore for this game. Give me five years and we'll see if it's still number one.

There is only one final fantasy on the list and its 12 a single player MMO with vaan :|

and Ocarina of time is trash i bought the 3ds version and the game just was bleagh mario 64 holds up way better than it much more faster paced.

Something is terribly wrong if BotW is your #1 (I mean that as nicely as possible @charizard1605) but there are even worse rankings in there. Bayo 2 at 12? UC4 at 17? Ultra SFIV at 20? I'm not one to tout nostalgia and claim games from the 90s were far and away superior to games released today, but lord almighty their presence here is sparse.

Agree about San Andreas, but disagree about GTA4. I don't think GTA4 deserves to be in the top 100. San Andreas, on the other hand, was definitely snubbed from the list.

It's worth keeping in mind that Edge's reviewing criteria usually tends to focus heavily on gameplay mechanics. In other words, games with stronger gameplay mechanics would be rated higher while games with weaker gameplay mechanics would be rated lower, generally speaking (with some exceptions here and there). While a lot of their decisions are questionable, the list overall seems fairly consistent with their mechanics-oriented reviewing philosophy.

Why in the **** is Batman: Arkham Knight even on the list? Especially when asylum and city are far superior and not on the list at all! Wtf? And that was one of my my many problems with the list. How in the hell is there not a single Forza game on this list? Terrible.

I thought it was interesting that 'Her Story' made the list, but I lost all respect for that list when the only 'Batman Arkham' game on there, was the worst one. Arkham City > Arkham Origins >> Arkham Asylum >>>>>>>> Arkham Knight. Arkham Knight doesn't make the list just because of its ill fitting Batmobile.

I just don't agree with their list at all. Since the 80s, there have been so many more worthy contenders. Super Mario Bros makes that list. There's a lot of series starters that deserve a place there on there.

Consider less of a list of 'Top 100 Games' and more of a list of 'Here's some games to try if you've not already'.

Terrible list that shows Edge are console kiddies and don't have any experienced PC gamers on their staff. Planescape Torment, Morrowind, Age of Empires, Baldur's Gate 2... no let's have Her Story instead lol, morons.

Notice Fear never pop ups on these lists. Seems to be massively underrated.

Terribad list and I liked reading Edge magazine.

There's not a single Car Racing game on his list but trash like Super Monkey Ball, Super Hexagon and Katamari Damacy makes his list. Halo 3 is worse than Halo 1 and 2. Uncharted 2 > Uncharted 4. My list would definitely be different but that's what opinions are for.

I know it's all opinions but their list is just awful. So many games we grew up with that are absent for a lot of current gen games too that I'm not convinced have earned their place.

Well they tried. Personally I think I could come up with a better list but it's all subjective anyway.

I'm surprised with some of the notable omissions though such as

• Super Mario Bros. 3 (But sure, Mario 3D world and Mario Maker made it)
• GoldenEye 64
• MGS games other than MGSV
• Early Battlefield games like BF2 (But include BF4? lol)
• Smash Bros games

BotW is overhyped to shit and its laughable that someone would put it at the top as the best game ever even though its lacking in so many areas that other games in its own series do better.
