Does any of this even have a point? I keep saying this over and over. The Seventh Generation is not suddenly over just because of the Wii U. Microsoft and Sony are still supporting the Xbox 360 and PS3 and those two systems remain the main consoles of their respective generations.
Fanboys are arguing over who sold more and are in a rush to crown a leader. But I have to ask, why the rush? The generation is not over. The 360, PS3, and Wii are all still being sold on the market, and two of the systems will likely have an excellent holiday season.
Does it really matter who's in second or third place at this point? The numbers will change after the holidays and those two systems have at least another year to go.
Is this some system wars rule? How does it make any sense to start handing out trophies for a race that's not even finished. Hell, there's not even a clear market leader and a massive gap between the second and third place consoles this generation. At least the PS1 and PS2 had a massive lead that would have been nearly impossible to lose.
I'm not bashing anyone, but I'm just really confused. We still know nothing about the Xbox 720 and the PS4, and the seventh generation systems are still being supported as the main consoles of two companies. Why the rush to declare a winner when two systems are in a close race for second place, and the market leader has been slowing down in sales.
