ugh, I hate my original PS4 design and that stupid angled look, this looks much better, the rounded edges are nicer too, but I'm not upgrading

I'll bet that the more powerful PS4K / Neo will keep the angular look of the original PS4, and as the latest rumor suggests, it'll be thicker and significantly heavier.

Reason being for Neo's rumored 10 lbs, would be the larger PSU and required cooling to keep its APU w/ 36 CU Polaris 10 GPU and overclocked Jaguar GPU cool.

Must be dirt cheap. I mean who buys this rather than a Neo? Gonna play all games worse for the next 3 years or whatever.

Blah...never liked the PS4 design and now not a fan of the slim. Of course the look of a console has never played a role in my buying decision though.

After watching the video, I kind of think that the Neo looks like two of the fatter bottom parts met by the center line as opposed to the slim top above the divide for the Slim.

I'm waiting to hear on whether they went forward with expanding the die-space for the chip on the Neo or not. It is going to be more expensive if they do, but also gives them more real estate for the GPU. The cooling solution would also, likely, need to be re-engineered from the original Neo spec as well.

Looks are not a concern. But I don't care about this. Maybe Neo for VR but regular PS4 does it just fine.

PS4 is one of the prettiest looking consoles ever. This thing's kind of ugly.

PS4 Slim will be offered to people who have never bought a PS4. It'll be relatively inexpensive.

PS4 Neo is a high-end PS4 for those that want a more powerful PS4, that will play upcoming games to the fullest, in higher resolution (even if not native 4K 2160p. Where 1080p native framebuffer is mandated (i.e. Battlefield One in Neo mode cannot be 900p like BF4 on OG PS4, it has to be 1080p or above on Neo). Also with better graphical fidelity, if that's what devs want to do.

Developers can also update & patch older games for Neo specs, as they see fit.

Neo also for those that want the best PSVR experience.

Neo will support Ultra HD Blu-ray, HDR, and undoubtedly, HDR gaming.

PSVR will work with any PS4 (OG, Slim, Neo). But with the Neo's reported 4+ TFlops, faster CPU and higher memory bandwidth, there is the potential that games won't need to be cut back graphically in PSVR games. However info about that has yet to leak. More should be made clear on Sept 7th at PS Meeting.

I think Neo will cost anywhere from $399 to $499. Whereas PS4 Slim will probably be $299.

I actually like my orig PoS4 and, if it´s true, I don´t like the looks of this supposed Slim version.

The things I dislike about my orig PoS4 console are:

1. The shiny cover is a phucking scratch magnet !
2. It´s noisy

Other than those I´m quite satisfied with it, I wish it had external storage support since this generation I´m going mostly digital.

They pay people to design the consoles for both function and aesthetics.....for a reason. Would you be happy with a poo shaped console as long as it had USB ports?

It sure looks slim! Kinda round too. Not sure I like it as much as the OG version though.

Wonder if, as some have already said, this slightly altered design is influenced/will influence the NEO version.

Looks about as good as the Xbox One S, which is to say, ugly. I like the original angled look much more. What's with the odd spacing between the USB ports? The silver metal for the ports and disc drive doesn't look good.

It's all of those things... which classes it as awful I think. Sony can do much better than that.

At the end of the day the consumer benefits because the Slim is likely going to be very cheap. Nobody will be complaining after they see that $249.99 price tag and yes it will be $249.99 if there is no UHD Blu-ray drive.

No, I find it equally as strange. Its just a box that plays games, so who cares what it looks like. All I care about is if its reliable and will have good games.

@emgesp: Sorry but when I see a person values there's stuff, even to a machine that happens to play games, I can respect that. Same reason if someone loves there Car to death when they clean it and wax it. It maybe a machine but that machine means more to that person. We Humans value what we think it's important to us, even a console gaming machine.
