No. Better is a subjective term. The PS3 is more powerful, but not necesarily better.

more power means you could take the game further. doing things no other console could. the xbox never took full advantage of this. it focused on making the same shooter over and over. and that is what i mean. the PS3 is better because of the specs. the console itself. the PS3 is better. just like the xbox was better than the PS2. the console itself. i'm not talking about how much it sold and the games for it because obviously, it's still new. the 360 isn't. it's last year.

and yep, i brought up exclusives earlier because it will have more by the end of this year than the 360 did on its first. and they will, most likely, be killer apps. go take a look at them, they don't look horrible at all. instead, the complete opposite. and they look original. not the same thing over and over like Microsoft does. go look at Too Human. the main character looks like an Unreal character. or a Halo character. or a Gears character. this un-original tradition of the Xbox needs a break because imo, it's getting old. Microsoft is proving that they're only capable of making a game for adults.

I just wanted you to admit that the xbox is a better console than the PS2. The fact that you are assuming all of these exclusive games will be killer apps even further proves to me that you are just a Sony fanboy. The only exclusive coming out down the line for PS3 that I am even remotely interested in besides MGS4 and FF XIII, is Lair.

it is the better console. if you're looking for graphics and online. not if you're looking for GAMES. The last Killzone was a piece of garbage, why would I look forward to this one? I don't think the world revolves around me, on the contrary, I believe the opposite is true in that you believe that way. You are after all the one assuming all the Sony exclusives will be killer apps, I like to keep an open mind personally, and not buy into the hype. To be fair, there are only a handful of games on the 360 I am looking forward to, Bio-Shock, ME, H3, and Forza. 3 on the PS3, 4 on the 360, seems pretty fair and unpartial to me....

actually, lol my brother has the 360 and i have the PS3. i couldn't care less about the Wii. i'll buy it maybe when Nintendo announces a new Zelda for it.  :) and you're obviously a shooting game fan, which is the reason why you favor the 360. check it out, Bio-Shock = FPS. Mass Effect = MMO with guns. Halo 3 = FPS. lol. maybe that's why you're not looking forward to the PS3 games? because they're not about shooting. LOL.

Do you have a selective memory?  Have you not seen the countless postings which cited developers complaining about the PS3's hardware, or the articles in which the 360 hardware came out on top in head-to-head comparisons?  What about Gamespot's own head to head software comparison?  Miss that one? 

Do some research, and look into it.  I'm not going to hunt them all down and post them for you.  Sakuguchi no Hironobu is among many of the developers who have openly criticized the PS3 architecture.  And I don't recall Kojima saying anything about the PS3 hardware being superior to the 360.

er. the only reason the 360 came out on top is because it's easier. not because it's better. the easier the better? i don't think so. :) when developers get very familiar with the PS3 hardware, you'll find your last post to be completely wrong. oh and Hideo Kojima chose the PS3 because he considers the 360 to be nothing more than "dvd level". he doesn't consider MGS4 "dvd level" therefore it cannot run on both consoles. go find the link and read it yourself if you're having a hard time believing me. lol.

I didn't understand any of that technical jargan that the Topic Creator posted.  I'm not a programmer, and I have no idea what all of that means.  Here's what I do know:

The proof is in the games.  Show me better looking games on the PS3 than the 360 and we'll have no choice but to admit that the PS3 is the better system graphically.  However, no one has done that yet.  I'm not saying it can't be done, it just hasn't.

Do some research, and look into it.  I'm not going to hunt them all down and post them for you.  Sakuguchi no Hironobu is among many of the developers who have openly criticized the PS3 architecture.  And I don't recall Kojima saying anything about the PS3 hardware being superior to the 360.

not a killer app? tell that to the people that found Fall of Man a lot more fun than Gears. you have a 360 signature, of course you don't find it to be a killer app. for all i know, you don't have a PS3. but oh well. Gears didn't even have a decent story and yet it got a 9.6 from GS. what ever happened to GS rating a game with an overall score? because i'm pretty sure that 9.6 was only based on multiplayer. nothing more. the story just plain sucked. the Fall of Man story was longer. it didn't pull a Halo 2 like Gears did. Microsoft should learn from their mistakes.

Doesnt really matter, it seems to be alot like the xbox vs PS2 graphic, as it will be minor with few games taking advantage of it. Well the PS3 is $600 so it better be looking better than the 360, so I just feel that $200-$300 is way to much for me to spend extra when buying a PS3 just for better graphics. I want games.

 Oh on a sales point this will not reallty effect sales as the early adopters are ussually the ones with the biggest issue with having the best graphics, by the time PS3 starts looking better than 360 the sales will start concentrating on casuals, since very little casuals have HDTV I doubt they care enought about graphics to buy the PS3 just for that, they will look at games.

I've been around long enough to see numerous console cycles, and I don't like the way the PS3 is headed.  Hey, if you're right, you're right--it doesn't have anything to do with being 15, and I'd happily admit it.  But, you're entitled to your opinion and, as such, also entitled to be dead wrong.

Just remember--games.  Which system has the best games right now?  Which system has the best games in the foreseeable future?  Which system has the best games in the largest quantity?  Answer those honestly and get back with us.

Which system has the best forseeable future? judging by the games that have been shown and announced, i go with the PS3 there. i'm not about to say the 360 because i don't see much of anything new being brought by Microsoft atm. Which system has the best games in the largest quantity? the 360. it was released over a year ago, dude. keep that in mind before you ask these questions. judge the PS3 at the end of this year. what i've judged the PS3 for so far, are system specs and upcoming games. those that are coming this year.

Ok, now to be serious. The PS3 has potential, but it still has a ways before it catches up to the 360. The 360 isn't ALL shooters you know. Well, if we apply the same standards you have for PS3 "killer apps" to X360 games, then the X360 has 59 killer apps so far (at least here on Gamespot) :)

 Sorry for the bump of this days old thread, but I figured I needed to defend myself from this guy (and I just checked back). 

You said you would consider Resistance, Motorstorm, and VF5 to be killer apps. Of the three, VF5 had the lowest score clocking in at a 7.9.  So, like I said, if you apply the same standard for "killer apps" to X360 games, using gamespot's scores, there would be 59 of them (59 games with a 7.9 or above).  Check the review archive yourself if you don't believe me.
