Sony was a very backward thinking company for a very long time and only recently have they finally realized it. It is going to take them a very long time to dig themselves out of the hole they got themselves into.

TV' sales - abysmal

Sony owned the MP3 market. - Apple land now (Destroyed their lead by not innovating and introducing proprietary hardware like Mini Disks even though CD's were good enough for mainstream consumers. Then they were too late to the party for Ipod like MP3 players)

Computers - good, but very overpriced. A deadly combo for the PC world. (unless you are Apple)

Sony wants to be Apple, but lacks the brand that Apple successfully cultivated over the years.

They also invest in extremely high risk technology that can fail and not see any profit from it. Heck even Blu ray is kind of a mistake since it has no shot of becoming as successful as the DVD and wont last as long. It cost them big time with the Playstation. They sabatoged their most profitable brand for the sake of Blu ray.

If I was a Sony executive or shareholder I'd be worried. I'm not though so I'm fine with them losing billions by making these awesome products :Plocopatho

Back to topic, I wish Sony can find their way back like they were in the past where they were you know? Innovative with their products, and not just trying to make hardware that cater to what's popular on the market and sell them overpriced.

Sony is all about gimmicks. The bad thing is they bash the products before they release or re-release it themselves. Remember how they bashed rumble and Nintendo wii. good times.

Agreed. Plus weren't they even taking a tiny loss off of each PS Vita handheld being sold? If Sony lowers the price of the Vita to something like $200because of the 3DS being at $170, then they will probably be back in the red again, losing more money off of each Vita being sold. Sony have already bled tons of money off of PS3's. Their losses were so gigantic, that they even wiped out all the profits that they made off of both PS1 & PS2.

They can't keep on lowering the prices at the wrong time. They have, however, lowered the PS3's price to $250 at the right time this time, in which at least they're still making some profits off of each PS3 system being sold now.

This argument is flawed. I'll let you think about why its wrong before I respond.

Sony makes very good products but doesn't have the best business sense to make them as popular, and Microsoft is the mastermind of providing subpar products and manipulating the public into a much better perception of it. This isn't news, its the usual.

I agree about Sony PR being complete crap (Stringer along with Tretton are COMPLETE ego D-bags), but by no means does it mean they are a mediocre company nor is anything else they try to do. I know Sony isn't making as much of a profit this gen as the other companies, but they still are making SOME profit, if they weren't they would cancel their platform. The PS3 is far from a failure as much as fanboys like TC (despite his name, he is really a hardcore lemming) try to make it out to be, it's a good system just like the 360 is. Neither one is "better", it's just a prefrence.

Come on guys, if someone walked up to you with a PS3 and a copy of Uncharted 2 and gave them to you for free you know you would take it home and enjoy it, you don't want to admit it, but it's the truth.
