That is a bogus claim for a genuine obvious lack of interest in this game. The little hype has more to do with how awful fable 2 was. There wasn't much hype or interest in this game. Not IMO. I liked Fable 2 better. And i thought Fable 2 was boring :| Go to the Fable 3 board and most people there will agree Fable 2 was the worst in the series.

And i thought Fable 2 was boring :| Go to the Fable 3 board and most people there will agree Fable 2 was the worst in the series.i agree, only been playing fable 3 for about 2 hours, but already i can say it's better than fable 2 but not as good as the original fable (lost chapters edition) Fable 2 had some aweful game breaking bugs in it,corrupted saves and framerate issues when it released, glad to see fable 3 doesn't appears to have any major bugs so far.
Actually got to play a bit of it today. Somehow, and i'm not quite sure how, but they've made it even harder to die ...

I disagree, i find the game way more challenging. I actually have to get health potions now. In Fable 2, i didnt have to worry about it, and i didnt die the whole game.
Not IMO. I liked Fable 2 better.As did I. Fable 2's combat was more fun, the way in which you progressed as a character was all around better, there were more clothing options, there were far less glitches and the environments looked better and had more personality, buying things from shops was actually more simple and corruption and purity were a part of the morality system as opposed to just being good or evil, the moral choices were far better and you could actually witness the results of such decisions unlike Fable 3 which has you make nearly every major decision toward the very end of the game, and the world just felt more fluid and cohesive. Fable 3 did a few cool things, namely the Sanctuary, but other than that it has been a disappointment whereas Fable 2 was fantastic in my opinion.

I know you said you only played a little bit of the game, but it DOES get more challenging. In fact, it is much more challenging considering I don't recall dying even once in Fable 2. Fable 3 on the other hand I've died twice, mostly because of having no potions and being too stubborn to use them. There's also no health bar in case you didn't notice. So at the very least they've made progress...
Oh and also my dog was completely useless for multiple missions because he was trying to tell me to do something for a quest I didn't realize was active.
I beat the game and 7.5 is right on the money. It's a good game just not a great one and basically feels like Fable 2 with a different story and a more streamlined system. One thing that always disappoints me about the Fable games are their poor endings. Fable II has a terrible ending with the final confrontation of Lucian being pathetic. Fable III had a better ending but still lacked that epic feel of accomplishment IMO. The game was still just as easy as Fable II which is sad there's no challenge in it. Other then that is was typical Fable II with good humor, marriage etc... and so forth. I'd say Fable III was better then II just because the story was abit better and the 2nd half where you're [spoiler] the ruler of Albion and trying to save as many lives as possible by making critcal financial decisions. [/spoiler]
This is lower than I expected. I never expected this game to get better than an 8.5. So much for any 360 ownage past Halo Reach. I wonder if they will put this series to rest or make a Fable 4?

Fable 3 should be the last IMO. Peter and his team just can't seem to get Fable to reach it's full potential with it's ideas which is a shame.
