Installing it now! :D Hopefully this gets AAA on Gamespot. :PStevo_the_gamerSo how have your first 2 hours been? :P
EDIT: Better hope so. Especially after what GUFU promised.
Just put in a few hours and I have to say, Im in love all over again... It has that very familiar Fallout 3 feel with just enough tweaks and improvements to make me very excited for another 100 hour romp through the wasteland... I love the voice acting so far and I find the early pacing of the game to be better than that of its predecessor. I like where this is all going.
There seems to be an autosave bug on the pc. Mine reverted to an old one and I lost some progress. So don't trust the autosave!mbrockway
haha, I always do the saves on my own in rpgs, I never have trusted auto save hehe :P
Usually just save eery 15-20 mins anyways :D

I agree 100%, the voice acting is incredible, Ron Pearlman FTW!
You are right about the begining to dude, it starts off perfectly imo, really pulls you into the characters, story and the gameworld.
I am only about 4 hours in, but I absolutely love it. It immediately felt better than Fallout 3 to me and so far has even exceeded my expectations. The characters are not as cardboard, there are more (and better) voice actors, better character models, the RPG elements feel deeper and more fleshed out, the quests and main storyline seems more intriguing and the Vegas vibe totally jives with the whole wasteland aspect much better. It just feels like a better game overall this time around to me.
Hell, despite what some may say, it definitely looks better than Fallout 3 as well. However, I did play Fallout 3 on the PS3 and am playing New Vegas on the 360. Regardless, there is quite a difference in the visuals and other than some muddy textures here and there, I think the game actually looks pretty good for the most part. I know one thing, it is nice to get away from the fantasy role playing games for a change and this is just hitting all the right notes and clicking on all cylinders for me. Obsidian has done a superb job, in my opinion.
wow, 8.5 from IGN is a flop in my book, they gave splinter cell conviction a 9.3, though it was a good game, but not a 9.3

Well said bud well said
I broke down and bought for 360. Gets here Friday, plus I get $10 game credit from Amazon. Guess I'll use it on Rock Band 3.

It happened to me once so far in Primm. This is a massive game, though. A few bugs here and there is to be expected and this will surely be addressed with a patch soon. It is indeed a fantastic game and is exceeding my expectations thus far.

Mine also happened in Primm. I can't believe how much i'm enjoying this game over Fallout 3. Vegas as a setting was one of the best ideas ever had... Ever. It beats the wheel.
Is it just me or does the game seem like it was originally balanced for hardcore mode, especially with it's placement of water sources and beds? The survival crafting system is also incredibly useful on HC mode while I'm finding it forgettable without it. Either way, I'm having fun.
Elaborate? :PAnybody else here find the Star Wars easter egg in the game yet? It was awesome.

I'm loving hardcore mode. Feels like it's the way this game was meant to be played. I can't see myself playing the game any other way now.
The game is more challenging than Fallout 3 as well. I've gotten myself into some pretty tough situations by going to places that was way out of my league, and had to hightail it away before getting my ass handed to me. Loving it and can't hardly put it down!

You're playing the PS3 version, right? Can you please tell me how that version runs? I don't care about the graphics, i just want to know if the game crashes constantly and/or has any serious framerate drops. I need to know this to make my decision on which version to get.[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]You're playing the PS3 version, right? Can you please tell me how that version runs? I don't care about the graphics, i just want to know if the game crashes constantly and/or has any serious framerate drops. I need to know this to make my decision on which version to get. Only had one freeze up, and I've been playing the game almost non stop since I got it. Performance wise it runs really good so far. The only bad thing I can say about it, is there are a lot of jaggies as others have said.I'm loving hardcore mode. Feels like it's the way this game was meant to be played. [QUOTE="Da_lil_PimP"]Elaborate? :P If you have the Wild Wasteland perk, go to the town of Nipton. Outside of one house are 2 skeletons. The names are "Owen" and "Beru" Those of the names of Luke's Aunt and Uncle. I was like "No waiz", Once I saw how one of the skeletons was laying on the ground it just clicked. Maybe you don't even need the wild wasteland perk.Anybody else here find the Star Wars easter egg in the game yet? It was awesome.

Yeah it really is much much better. Hopefully they iron out some of the bugs. But their not bad enough to make it game breaking. Hopefully they also expand ala fallout 3 with all those great expansions. Except for Op AnchorageThis game has sucked me in so much more then Fallout3 ever did.
Better story, better dialogue, better gameplay, better characters and better atmosphere, loving the game!
